Oh hey btw, while “totem animal” and “spirit animal” are native american concepts far more complicated than simply looking at a creature and going “mood.”, there’s a finnish concept of sieluneläin, soul animal, a creature that is alike to you in soul (in the finnish pagan spirituality, one’s soul is actually three things, henki, luonto and itse/sielu, out of which the last one is what is distinctly you, personality and temperament). The term soul animal no longer has ritual or religious meaning, and it can’t really be appropriated. If you see a corgi laying down in a creek just fucking letting water run over her because she can’t bother to move and think “same”, that’s your soul animal, and you’re completely free to use the term unless you’re swedish.

Beauty Sleep Sachet Glamour Spell

This is an easy sachet glamour spell I use. It allows oneself to see their own beauty and see past their flaws. It is excellent for confidence boosting as well as self-love purposes.

You will need:

A sachet or some clothe to make a pouch or bag of some sort

Dried Rose Petals or any other dried flower petals you associate with beauty

A small piece of rose quartz

(optional) your favorite perfume

1. First make or get your bag or sachet ready. Place your rose or flower petals inside.

2. Take your rose quartz in hand and cup your hands around it and whisper to it your wishes, in this case how you wish to see your true beauty. I usually seal in these wishes with a gentle kiss to the stone before placing it into the bag as well. Close it.

3. Optional: Take your favorite perfume and spritz the bag once.

4. Once all this is done take the bag in your hands and do a little chant of your choosing stating your wishes. An example would be: “By mornings light, I wish to see my true beauty shine bright.” But you may do whatever you feel is fitting.

5. Finally place it underneath your pillow or near your bed so that every time you sleep it can do its magic.

Aftercare Suggestions: I suggest you change its flower petals monthly and recharge the rose quartz inside it every two weeks to keep the spell potent.

Inktober Day 2 - Tranquil

Spell to give some protection to a loved one.

“Here, put this on. It will protect you. It’s made from the threads your friends wove together.”

I’ve seen some Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli spells but not anything for this, so I took a crack at it. This spell is based on the scene where Zeniba, No Face, Bo, and Yubaba’s bird make Chihiro a new hair tie. But instead of a hair tie, you’re gonna be making a bracelet.

What you need:

Purple thread* and 4 or 5 other colored threads that match (or dont) purple.

Beads and charms (optional)

Picture of your loved one

Candle (tea light works)

*I say purple because in the movie, it’s a purple hair tie and some sources cite purple as being used to drive away evil and negative energy. But you can change it to any colors you want!

What you’re gonna do:

Gather up all your supplies and sit somewhere comfortable.

Light the candle (any color, but if you’ve got a color candle that you use for protection, go ahead and use that one) and place the picture next to the candle and gather up some energy with the intent of protecting this person.

Start making your friendship bracelet. Here’s a tutorial for a traditional friendship bracelet (link). This is one for a twister bracelet (link), this is one for a square knotted bracelet (link), this is for a Chevron bracelet (link). Choose whichever tickles your fancy and start braiding. While you braid the threads, think about your loved one and protecting them. Let every braid carry that protective and loving energy.

Add a bead/charm, or a few, in there if you’d like. Let every bead you add heighten that protection.

When you’re finishing it and knotting it up, use the knots to fasten the protection into the bracelet.

Blow/snuff your candle off or let it burn all the way down.

And you’re done! Give it to your loved one and preferably, be the one to tie it on them!

Love In, Love Out Candle Magick

I am making use of tonight’s Strawberry Moon to introduce my friend to my practice and help guide her in her relationship struggles. Below is my personal notes for Love Candle Magick focusing on the positive traits we bring to the table and the positive traits we hope to attract.

Gather:

Red, Pink or White Candle (for love, passion)

Basil (for love, protection, lust and ‘wealth’)

Pink Salt (for self-love and clarity)

2 Pieces of paper and writing utensil of your choice (bonus if you made your own infused paper!)

Rose Quartz (for love, focus)

Heat Safe Dish

Matches/Torch

The Ritual:

On one piece of paper write down all of your positive traits. Your beauty, your skills, your strengths. On the other, write down all of the positive traits you want to attract in others. This doesn’t (and really shouldn’t be) physically specific; instead of “Brown Hair, 6ft3″ think about “kind eyes, warm heart” etc).

Surround your candle in a protective barrier of Salt.

Light your candle.

Hold the crystal in your left hand. Take hold of the papers in your right. Close your eyes and focus all of your inner influence and power on the papers. Meditate until you feel the right hand become as heavy as the left.

Light the papers on fire and place in (heat-safe) dish.

Light your basil and place in the dish until the paper and herb make an ash.

Use the ash to draw a circle on your forehead, heart and lower stomach. The circle representing a closed law of attraction (you get what you put out) and the location encouraging a cohesiveness between head, heart, and lust.

Focus for as long as you need to, then blow out your candle.

Things I personally do in my rituals that aren’t “required”:

I always bathe before a ritual or spell. I use this to start my meditation and focus my mind. (I also do my rituals unclothed because I draw my power from my body and it helps me get in touch with myself. Do what you’re comfortable with.) I will be giving my friend the option to ‘cleanse’ herself or ‘glam’ herself depending on where she feels most powerful.

Because it is a full moon AND my friend’s first time, we are going to do a Full Moon Tarot spread that can give her insight before starting the ritual.

Music is a big part of my craft. I will be making my own playlist for tonight, but my inspiration came from this playlist on Spotify.

I do not personally say incantations, but if you do, during the Ash Anointing is a perfect place for one.

As always, use common sense and caution when dealing with herbs, crystals, and fire. A safe witch is a happy witch.

EDIT: - Bottle that Ash up and re-apply for whenever you need a boost! Anoint yourself again, place in a bottle or sachet or sprinkle where you most spend time with your loves.

Armor of Love Protection Bath

this is a bath i preformed recently actually. this is going to sound really cheesy and fluffy but i made this to be a sort of protective bath that shields you with the power of love (love from your friends, family, pets ect) its to block out harmful energizes and such that people may try and send at you. i was actually thinking about Stevens shield/bubble while making this, for those of you who are SU fans out there soo here goes nothing.

Materials Needed: (you can use either fresh or dried herbs for this)

1 Cup Sea Salt or pink Himalayan salt

1 Cup Rose Petals

¼th Cup Rosemary

¼th Cup Bay Leaves

¼th Cup Lavender

¼th Cup Mint

Some rose quartz

optional 1 cup of Honey

Once you assemble all Your ingredients, Mix the herbs together. While Feeling their energizes, pouring love you feel and your power into them. while visualizing your magickal goal blend the herbs with your fingers. once mixed you set them aside in a bowl or Pour into a Sachet ( adding them to a sachet makes clean up faster)

Next run a warm bath (not to hot, but that nice and warm perfect temperature), and add the herbal mixture, the honey and the rose quartz to the bath and let seep for a few minutes before entering.

Now enter the bath pick up your favorite piece of rose quartz from the bath and place it on your chest. now lay in this lovely bath an focus on your goal and intent, to build an armor forged from the love that has been given to you. Stay in the water until you feel ready to leave

recharge your armor as needed.
