For my first project at UAL Wimbledon Set Design for Screen, I decided to turn a location into a High Security Infectious Diseases Unit. These units are used to treat patients with highly contagious diseases similar to Ebola that hit the UK in 2014. I took inspiration for this set from Films such as E.T, Sunshine, 2001: A Space Odyssey and the British TV series Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
For my Final Major Project I was inspired by the works of cinematic photographers such as Philip Lorca Dicorcia, Gregory Crewdson, Jeff Wall and Cindy Sherman. I wanted to recreate an old classic in a cinematic style and chose the Millais painting ‘Ophelia’. Here I was playing around with the final photographs for development purposes.
Because of my interest in Production Design I chose to base my Art History project around it. I was torn between researching Art Nouvou and Art Deco, in the end I chose Deco because I liked the clean lines and symmetry which I try to include In a lot of my work. The model that I made is the facade of a 1930s cinema in an art deco style. I took my inspiration from a lot of different Art Deco buildings and cinemas most of which where in London
