“I asked myself about the present: how wide it was, how deep it was, how much was mine to keep.”
It’s finally time to start brushing up on my science.
… I forgot how complicated G-protein coupled receptors were; looks like this is going to be an afternoon-consuming activity.
Busy like a bee, yeah, ok. On a scale of zero to proton, how positive are you?
Who the fuck keyed my car?
Did you win any of your many nominations? Maybe someone’s mad.
Nothing like being groped at the airport by a ginger, bearded, elephant man to round off an otherwise pleasant vacation…
I see you met Uncle Jupiter.
Geneva, showing off to a less capable child.
International flights are such a pain.
Lisette laughed openly as the girl joked her Uncle not even knowing if she knew who her Uncle even was. “Oh he would notice eventually, but I hardly think I am really on his everyday radar,” Lisette chuckled, “Well I am glad you can see clearly now, love. Would be a shame for a beauty like you to not be able to see their own smile.”
Geneva listened to her new acquaintance and gave a shrug. She didn’t have anything to say and she wasn’t feeling very chatty all of a sudden. “I like when girl’s compliment each other, it’s like flipping the bird to all Chauvinist pigs.”
He didn’t see a point in fighting with her over some stupid shit like that, but he had to admit he enjoyed the funny turn their situation took “I should probably mention I feel like the wealthy boyfriend paying for his fancy girlfriend’s shopping.” Dean chuckled “Go talk to whoever you have to talk to to get it.”
“Fancy and Geneva don’t go hand in hand.” She said simply before fetching an employee. And after everything as done and payed for, the brunette looked at the guy who’d nearly killed her. “Thanks.” She said, kissing his cheek as she rang the bell on the handle and walked out.
I’ve never met a Canadian grandma, so I’m just gonna assume that it’s a good thing.
Suppose it depends on what you think of grandmothers.
International flights are such a pain.
“I value my family far too much to possibly ever do that to them, particularly my Aunt. I honestly do not know if my Uncle would even notice,” She says honestly to the girl. “A lovely policy to live by, Gen,” Lisette says smiling to her.
“I suppose that’s the thing about having a family, the inevitable attachments.” She said easily, not elaborating on her statement any further. “Maybe your uncle should get his eyes checked, maybe then he’ll notice if you leave. I mean, I hardly remember my own childhood. Everything was kinda blurry until Freshman year when I was diagnosed with bad vision.”
Dean stared at her more than anything for a few moments, in silence, before walking past her and mumbling a “You suck!” on his way past her, making a face as he did so. She was smart, he gave her that “Just pick your damn bike and let’s get on with this.”
Geneva watched Dean watch her and when the stare finally broke she broke into a smile at his words of defeat. And after a moment of scanning the bicycles in the back aisle, she settled on the same one she had before but a newer model. “I want the Trek Madone, over there.”
Now I’m four five seconds from wildin and we got 3 more days til Friday I’m just tryna make it back home by Monday morning…
I’m in a good mood and I’m determined to let nothing ruin it.
That’s good, optimism is nice. Nice like Canadian grandmas.
It’s been a week and I still can’t believe that there wasn’t a secret award that I would have won.
If you say Best Humor I’m going to beat you with a weed whacker.
Dean waited for an answer, and when he didn’t get one, he stopped in his tracks and crossed his arms, completely ignoring her question, and taking his phone out instead “You know what, I changed my mind. I think i’m just gonna call the police and report this accident. Tell them you showed up out of nowhere when I was driving slowly and carefully. I’m sure we’ll have a blast down at the station while they go on about this.” He was of course bluffing but she didn’t leave him no choice.
“Pedestrians and bicyclists have the right of way, so we can do that too if you’d like.” Thanks to Alessia who taught her enough to claim her rights and her constitution class professor to inform her of what those were last semester. She eyed him steadily, not being one to falter.
International flights are such a pain.
“They do look an awful lot alike don’t they? Not to worry, love, your secret is safe with me. Well that is a lovely idea to have isn’t it? To travel around with no strings attached. I do wish life could be that simple,” Lisette chuckled and sighed looking over the girl, “No, never. I don’t do anything special to you, just wash and brush, but thank you for the compliment.”
“It can be if you want it do, cut strings and leave. It’s not hard if you don’t have a conscious.” Which was something Geneva was still working on, a harder task than she would like it to be. “Of course, compliments are nice so always pay it forward, right? I think that was a movement at some point.”
“I refuse to put the whole blame on me.” Dean tilted his head and grinned widely at her. If she were stubborn, he could be too “I think we were both at fault there. Does that sound better to you?”
Geneva ignored his words, not being one to willing incriminate herself in any situation. An arm lifted up to point out their destination. “What’s your budget?” She asked as they walked inside.
