She rested her head on her knees, looking at him as he ate and thought. She somehow wished that she had never said that she could help him. She had only said it caused she wanted him to trust her. But what would happen if she made a mistake? Even the slightest mishap and then everything she had done to try to befriend him would be ruined. And she would have to start over from the beginning.

“You mean the girl? Kanonno? I’m actually not to sure what happened. She left before I could test anything.” Tapping her fingers against her leg, she sighed. “Lion… I can’t guarantee anything. I have only done this once. If anything, this should be tested multiple times before being used on anyone.”

She just wished that he would say no. Biting her lip, she turned her head away. “What if instead of remembering everything, you forget? Then what? You’d forget everything.” Never in her life had she felt this scared. “You really need to think this over. This isn’t something that you just choose to do on a whim.”

“I know this sounds so completely unlike me. I guess this time, I’m actually serious. Everything else I do is for fun or something that would just be temporary. This could be permanent, Lion.”

It wasn’t like Harold to be this serious, and Lion had to admit, his respect for the mage did increase slightly for it. He knew she was reckless at times, but it was a small comfort to know she wouldn’t actually needlessly endanger someone — at least to this point. Death wasn’t frightening to him, not in the slightest. He was already meant to have died before, he could easily face that again. But the idea of losing the memories he had now… that was concerning. 

Memories were, at most, all he truly had that was his own. Most of which he owned could easily be overtaken and stolen away, except for perhaps Chaltier. Still, the swordian had been by his side all his life; the spirit was as much a part of him as his arms or legs. He didn’t quite count it that way. But would he remember Chal himself if he were to lose those memories? How many would he lose…? Would he retain anything of himself?

"…How confident are you in your abilities?" he asked, looking up at Harold. All the ice-cream was finished and both bowls set aside. “Do you think you can?" He paused, then added quietly, "…would I be able to help you figure it out quicker?"

Having Lion acting so determined with this had her concerned. It wasn't that she wasn't confident in herself. She knew what she could do, no doubt. "Lion...." She sighed and got to her feet. "I really can't argue against you, can I?"

Rubbing gently at her eyes, she stared down at him. "You need to not have any regrets. None at all. I'm sure there are plenty of other who would try to talk you out of this as well, but I am also sure that you wouldn't listen to them either."

She pointed in the direction of the inn. "I will get everything ready and I will be waiting there for you, if you want to go through with this. Although, I suggest you tell someone first. I don't want to be blamed for your decisions, Lion..."

Harold is probably the closest human Lion has to a best friend. Aside from Sync. Does Sync even count? I dunno.
