Genji had a feeling that he was going to be asked about returning. Yet he was unsure, he had left Overwatch the last time to pursue his brother and only by chance did he run into a particular monk that reshaped his outlook on life. Now that he was at peace with himself he wondered if returning would even be worth it.
He stayed silent and mulled the over his options. Overwatch had been shut down after he left, and he questioned if it was necessary in this day and age. On one hand he believed that it was better left in the past, but a part of him knew that with the rising conflicts in Russia and Korea, something would have to be done.
“I will have to think on this…it is a difficult decision.”
Suki took in a slow, gentle breath, letting the man think over her words however he liked. At his gentle response, which was not at all surprising, she nodded her head.
“I understand,” she whispered carefully. “Winston wasn’t sure if you received notification of the recall. The intent was…mostly to let you know.” Hopefully to convince him, yes, but Suki wasn’t about to force someone if they didn’t want to do it. After all, how was she supposed to? She wasn’t the most pushy, strongest of messenger options. “…If you choose to though, everyone is being asked to report to the watchpoint at Gibraltar.”
“Ah yes, Gibraltar, a beautiful place for sure, but first a question.” Genji’s curiosity was getting the best of him and he had to indulge it. “What brought you to Overwatch? Many see them as criminals these days.”
He glanced back at the door to the room as he heard footsteps pass by, his hand twitching towards his sword on instinct. Being in the temple again had made him slightly paranoid.
Suki opened her mouth to answer his careful, curious question just a few moments before she too heard the sound of footsteps. She wasn’t all that perturbed by the sound, though not liking the idea of being caught in an area she possibly shouldn’t be in, but it wasn’t hard to see the sudden twitch of response that Genji himself had. She glanced to the doorway, then back to the man.
“….Would you be more comfortable talking elsewhere?” The woman asked, her voice just over a whisper as another set of footsteps passed by the door. There were gardens outside, other rooms and hallways untouched by even tours and curious tourists like herself that would be far more private.
Genji nodded and gestured to a hallway marked off by the staff that led out into a garden, beginning to walk down it. “Nobody will bother us here.” He said, letting his hand slide across the wall as he walked, the temple was beuatiful
The cyborg thought of the times he neglected the beauty of the temple as a youth, instead opting to go out to various parties and the like.
