How to mute a 2012 Furby's chirping/squeaking

The awful noise that you're hearing is how they communicate with the app; given that the app is no longer functional, there's no longer any use for it except to make my ears suffer.

I can't confirm whether or not this applies to Booms or Connects.

Step 1: Skin the baby! There are plenty of tutorials online on how to get that done.

Step 2: Look for an orange plug underneath the face. I suggest using tweezers to remove it, but instead of grasping, press the closed tweezers on the upper side (closer to the face) and drag them out towards you. It'll take a few tries.

And there you have it! Have fun with your newly well-behaved furb.

as someone who dies every time i hear this sound, this post is the best thing ever!!!! sadly it doesnt apply to booms, theres no plug to pull (although the main speaker comes out this way) and because of the build of a boom theres no way to cut the wires of this specific speaker without totally ripping the furby apart. this post is still a godsend though 🙏
