Life is like an oversized, complicated vending machine. You must put something in to get something out. Usually, what people want to get out is money. You’ve heard the saying, ‘You have to spend money to make money.’ But how did those people, who had nothing to begin with, make all that money? We believe there are things more important than money – or anything it can buy. Time Time is money. You’ve heard it over and over again. It is like a treasure – a companion which, if used wisely, can reap immense benefits. Learn to value your time, to organize it and to manage it well. If you invest well in your time, work for the goals you set out for in an organized, efficient manner, you can be assured that your fortune is waiting for you. However, if you waste your time or procrastinate, if you spend your hours not working towards your goal – be assured that it is sending you in the other direction. Desperation Desperate times call for desperate measures. What’s the brilliancy about desperation? You overlook the cons, and the little “what ifs” and the wrongs that could come your way – and you work for that one goal it can bring you. Desperation means you do not give up, no matter how many failures come your way, just like Stephen King published ‘Carrie’ after it being rejected thirty times. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, or how many lengths you have to go through – it just matters that you must. Determination As Albert Hubbard once said, “There is no failure except in no longer trying.” Many successful people started out by failing. Oprah, Bill Gates, Stephen Spielberg, JK Rowling, Walt Disney, even the maker of KFC! They all had one thing in common – they did not give up. They spiraled downhill, they were pushed to the ground, they were snubbed multiple times – just take a look at their stories. Persevering through your difficult times and downfalls is what’s going to get you through. How are you going to get to the light at the end of the tunnel if you do not walk all the way? Courage You must be willing to take risks. No, I don’t mean over-the-top, blatantly stupid ones. But risks that – though they come with their fair share of dangers – also promise rewards. You must have the courage to take risks, and the smarts to know otherwise. If you have a dollar in your bank account, you can still make something out of it. You just have to believe that your strength will get you there. Because after all, it is not your circumstance that defines you, but what you do with it. Ambition How can you really aim for something, when you simply don’t want it enough? Ambition is the energy that gets you what you want, and more. Without ambition fueling your incentives, without it being the positive push towards your goal – life is going to be a tough journey without the sweetness of fulfilled ambitions. Ingenuity You won’t always make the right decisions – but you must have the smarts to know when you didn’t. Innovation stems from ingenuity, and you must put your brains to work. What will your next move be? What is the best way to respond to your circumstances? Remember to think logically, but also remember to lace your thoughts with emotion. Because without heart, there is no mind. Personality Throughout the course of your life, you will meet many people who will ease your circumstances, or toughen them. However, you must make the most out of your relationships. Successful people have many traits in common – they are hardworking, humble, positive and giving. As much as it might bother you – you cannot do this alone. We always need help along the way. So let your personality help you get there. There Is No ‘I’ In Team

A team comprises individuals working together – not against each other. The only competition that exists is the actual competition, and not each other. Efficient leaders know this, and impart and implement this knowledge consistently.

By creating a sense of mission and purpose, individuals are reminded that what they are doing is making a difference. This sense of urgency and purpose allows the team’s broader objectives to outweigh one’s personal career goals. As a leader, you need your team to work together, not against. You need them to understand that making someone else lose does not make them win. So you must encourage a synergism to reap greater benefits – as two is always better than one.

Everyone wants to feel relevant. You must communicate one’s unique role to each person, and communicate their importance in the team, as people should be given credit where it is due. Every team player needs to be reminded that their responsibility and efforts are theirs alone, and when working together, they will own the results.

Choose the right team

A team cannot function if its people are not working symbiotically. You must choose a person that works well with others, not just with himself. Humility and skills within one can reflect on others, and as a whole make the team one efficient, functioning unit. Leaders need to inspire their members, to remind them of their unison, and to bring out the best in each. A shared culture and work ethic drives a group forward. Learn to implement yours.

Working together is better than working alone

This is the key ingredient in the integrity of a team. Team players know that a team effort outweighs individual efforts.

It is also imperative to communicate to the person the result of their efforts. If one is doing well, he must be praised, as positive words bring positive outcomes – there’s a reason its termed positive feedback. It also imparts a sense of loyalty within that individual, as he feels more at ease within the circle and feels he must continue to contribute fruitfully to his team. However, if one is not doing his best, positive criticism goes a long way. You must tell this person where he stands, and acknowledge whatever effort he is making. Kind words ignite loyalty as well, and this person is most likely to improve his work ethic because you inspired him to do so.

You are a leader for a reason

Leaders need to be conscientious, fair and grounded.

You must be willing to improve and inspire your team’s efforts, and must be a team player yourself. If you wish for your team to work hard, you must work hard and set an example. If you wish your team to communicate better, you must be the first to talk. If you want your team to overcome obstacles together, you must show them how it is done. Be the one to initiate growth. Lead them to their better selves.

As Gandhi once rightly said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Or in this case, the change you wish to see in your team.

However, everyone can relate to some topics like establishing a comment regarding the drinks or foods in case you’re in a cafe or restaurant, or the person who is attending you, for example.

#3: Asking Questions:

When you’re interested in meeting someone, you want to know everything you can about this person. So, you just have to make a lot of questions. However, you shouldn’t just fire the questions because most probably, you’ll end up talking to yourself.

It’s natural to complain. It’s also a human need sometimes. Venting is important to some, but if it gets out of control, it can definitely ruin your mood and persona.

We discovered there is a certain pattern people take while complaining. Who do you identify yourself as?

The one who feels superior

Imagine you’re in a restaurant with your coworkers on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant is full, and service is slow, and numerous waiters come by your table. You notice the slow and disorganized service and begin complaining about it all night, looking down up on the waiters and the restaurant in general. You complain about their attitude, their tardiness, their uniforms, and before you know it, you’ve spoiled the evening when you could have just spoken to the manager. But of course, you felt you were above interacting with the manager or the waiters, because you were too busy criticizing them.

The one who greets by complaints

You start conversations by complaining. You believe complaining helps unite you with your friend, or whomever it is you’re talking to, and gives you something to discuss. And while it does help you bond at times, taking it too far makes the others run the opposite direction. You need to stop believing your “shared” disappointment or contempt is always a positive thing.

The one who spews complaints

Your whole conversation, from the word go, is one long complaint. It ranges from the way you woke up this morning, to every little thing you experienced till that time, and believe me when I say you bring a negative energy to the conversation. Your prolonged bitter tales are not appreciated, and take up space for more substantial and positive conversation. Sessions with you are sessions about how one messed up, how the world is one giant chunk of unluckiness, and how your life could be so much better. Remember, all that negativity gets to people.

The one who blames, and blames… and blames

If you’re someone who likes to point the finger at everyone but yourself – you are a part of a dangerous cycle that involves negativity and stagnation in your life. When you blame others, you stop trying to intervene to improve your own life. If you believe everyone else is at fault, you blame your own problems on them and spiral downhill in a regressing fashion. If not that, you stay stuck in your position – and I don’t know which one is worse. Every mishap, accident, or mistake is the product of someone else’s doing, and why should you fix other’s mistakes when you make none on your own? Right? Wrong!

If you do not identify as any of these people, congratulations, you have taken the high road. You take responsibility of your own life, and forgive others where they have affected you negatively. If you find yourself improving avenues of your life that are not as you planned, you have matured sensibly. Instead of complaining and blaming, you work towards overcoming your obstacles. And in this way, you spread positivity in your interactions with people. Who doesn’t love a person who is self-sufficient?

When you stop complaining about your life, you realize that everything is under your control. You can either complain about that tardy service, or you can request the manager to improve. You can either complain about nitty gritty details of your life, or you can talk about improvement, and in turn lend a listening ear to your companion. You can blame your coworker, or you can help yourself and him to work on common ground.

If you have a habit of complaining, worry not. It will take time to overcome, because habits cannot be overturned immediately, but rather taken down a few pegs step by step, day to day. Once you see the benefits of not complaining, you will have a new attitude towards life. Because life does not fix itself, you do.

Energy makes the world go round – within you

There is a buzzing force within you that stems from the cellular level. Every cell within your body, comprising atoms, buzzes at a certain frequency. These little frequencies amalgamate to make you who you are. Every thought, every emotion, every feeling – it all stems from a core energy. How can you harvest this energy to work for you? Energy is a vast, seemingly incomprehensible, but very logical term. It is the underlying aspect of all that is you, but you cannot touch it, or see it, or smell it, or even taste it. However, you can feel it, because it is what flows through your veins and drives your inner being.

When you optimize this energy, you attract the things you want and feed the movements in you and your environment necessary for this attraction. Optimized energy, which scientists term flow state, is where the magic begins.

The circadian rhythm is the rhythm of life

Our Circadian clock is the internal mechanism that governs our biology according to 24-hour rhythms. This clock marks our daily schedule and tells us when to sleep, eat and, more important, when to think.

You can think of this rhythm as a pacemaker. Just like the heart beats to its own rhythm created by its pacemaker, our lives should be in sync with our internal pacemaker. One shouldn’t thwart biology – it exists to be our aid.

Our mental energies peak before noon, while physical energy summits in the afternoon. But we oppose these natural flows by working out in the morning and leaving our creative juices to work in the afternoon. What a waste, no?

To maximize your productivity, you mustn’t work around the clock hanging on your wall, but the clock ticking inside of you.

Energize your mind and soul

The power of positive thinking has been backed up by science – if you were ever doubtful about it before.

As we discussed before, energy stems from a frequency within our atoms. Science claims we can control this energy by the way we think. Negative thinking can lower this frequency – and in turn our energy – by 12 MHz, and positive energy can raise it by 10 MHz.

And if your inner frequency is heightened, you will attract more around you. You will work for more around you, and as Paulo Coehlo once said, “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” The universe and you are connected by one giant energy – don’t let that energy dim.

And if you’re looking for a less metaphysical approach, Stanford Research Institute’s discovered, “Success is based on 88% mental attitude and 12% knowledge and skills.”

Energies and cycles – the law of balance

There are three cycles that balance and flow our energies. We’ve already discussed the circadian rhythm cycle. Now let’s look at two lesser known, but equally important ones.

Ultradian cycles are shorter cycles that determine our comprehension and alertness in terms of time. We can give time to something for 90-120 minutes, however, after that we need a 30 minute break at the most. This allows us to return to our optimal energies, so that we can return to our tasks rejuvenated.

Circaseptan cycles monitor our vitals – blood pressure, heartbeat, temperature – on a weekly basis. These vitals rise and fall on a seven-day basis and their optimal state depends on adequate resting time allotted to them. Be sure to give yourself the time off that you need, for everyone needs an emotional, mental and physical getaway.

And finally, to bring you back to your high-school physics class – remember the law of conservation of energy. You cannot produce more, you can only work with what you have. So convert your passive energy into a more active form, and remember to replace your inner energy with the right fuels and foods. You are now ready to begin the journey within you and without.

You probably already heard the expression “He lived his life without a meaning”. This is a sad truth that, unfortunately, can be related to someone you know. When you look at someone who just died, you usually look for the things this person did or how his or her attitudes affected the people around him or her. For sure I’m not putting the whole blame on that virtual window because after all we are responsible of the things we’re doing. i know that typing is good I know that it’s easy to say the hardest words while typing them but believe me if typing is good talking is great, you don’t agree?! wait a minute try to imagine that you can stand up in front of a lot of people and tell your opinion confidently and you are able to hear others opinions and maybe work on your ideas if you are wrong or instead give them the right ideas imagine that you can be that charismatic person that shuts all others mouth while communicating isn’t that great you feel it now right! Than trust me those skills are not coming from nothing and they are definitely not something you can learn from typing. it’s such a precious thing that you can learn by talking communicating opening your mouth trying to prove yourself to the world trying to show them how awesome you really are. And hey I’m not an internet hater or something like that but what I’m trying to clarify is to do not lose that gift of communicating and always think about how much great was the man that said once “talk so i can see you”

How You Can Become A Servant Leader

The possibility of the term and details of this latest (yet, ancient) leadership philosophy, servant – leadership, was developed by Robert Greenleaf, who worked for forty years as a management and training research specialist for AT&T. while AT&T Greenleaf experienced the leadership and management realities of real world corporate America. He retired from AT&T in 1964, as Vice – president of Research. He noticed that he had developed strong opinions about the management of organizations and of workers while at AT&T. He reflected on his experience and decided to use it to help other leaders deal more effectively with the issues they faced. In 1970, Robert K. Greenleaf came up with the expression, “Servant Leadership”. His work and treatise ended up dramatically altering the traditional way that management had thought for many years.

Servant leadership embraces the idea that leaders, organizations, and institutions should strive to improve their caring and quality of their people by inculcating the servant leadership philosophy and model as part of a paradigm shift to putting the needs of those being led needs ahead of the leader or the organization. This new concept called “servant leadership” emphasizes increase service to others; a holistic approach to work; promoting a sense of community; and sharing of power in decision making.

Servant leadership is not about changing the way that other people work by training them or having focus groups or otherwise compelling them to conform. Servant leadership is an acknowledgment that the way that we ourselves behave as leaders affect the behavior of our workforce. The leader, by behaving in a traditional directive management manner can prevent his/her workforce from performing; becoming the Servant Leader stops that from happening and allows the workforce to grow to their full potential.

A leader helps to inspire others by having a confident vision about the future plans of the organization. Setting the personal goals right is the beginning of decongesting your schedule and allocating the right time and resources to the given activities in a smart manner that you can gauge the productivity and determine the progress.

From the stage of setting personal goals one has to prioritize the activities and goals. This can be done based on the evaluation: urgency, necessity, dependency and mandatory. Activities that are urgent and necessary should be given priority while those that can be done later can always come last. The resource and time must also be allocated based on the priority. The simplest guide questions should be, is it urgent, is it dependent or independent?

One must also learn to manage distractions and avoid procrastination. Distractions come in many forms, such us the gadgets we use, ourselves, the workmates and the social sites. It is always advisable to set up time breaks so that you can be with yourself and evaluate what you have done to see if you have met the desired requirements, then take time before starting another/new activity to determine what exactly you want to achieve at the end of the activity. By doing so, one is able to determine whether they are achieving success or not.

Multitasking has always been viewed as better compared to single tasking, but you will be surprised that multitasking is another form of time mismanagement. This comes in when one is doing several activities and then they end up doing shoddy work. Then have redo the work and thus wasting time.
