As gen-AI becomes more normalized (Chappell Roan encouraging it, grifters on the rise, young artists using it), I wanna express how I will never turn to it because it fundamentally bores me to my core. There is no reason for me to want to use gen-AI because I will never want to give up my autonomy in creating art. I never want to become reliant on an inhuman object for expression, least of all if that object is created and controlled by tech companies. I draw not because I want a drawing but because I love the process of drawing. So even in a future where everyone’s accepted it, I’m never gonna sway on this.

The thing is about trans headcanons is that transfem headcanons are usually because of the character's theming deeply overlapping with the transfem experience, with things such as like dissociation, depersonilaztion, dehumanization, struggle with femininity/masculinity, social isolation, etc. And transmas headcanons are usually cause like. There's a guy and they like him. Like ultimately both of these should be fine, but guess which one is endlessly picked apart for being "unrealistic" or "unwarranted" or "overdone" or "too generalized" and which one is seen as good in every scenario :)

Like we can have transmasc shinji but we canNOT have transfem luffy. Someone would die for suggesting that. Hell we can barely even fucking have transfem shinji. There's an underlying assumption of transmasculinity being more closely aligned with "normal" and "acceptable" and transfeminity being something different and external and weird. Literally what transmisogyny is and literally class analysis of gender 101.

This is not the take I would have gone with if I wanted to have transfem headcanons taken more seriously. To act as if transmasculine people don't have emotional connections to characters that relate to their experiences is wild. It's giving, I've never talked to a transmasc person and actually listen to them. Trying to defend transfem headcanons never bring another group's headcanon down, especially to say that they don't experience the same thing that literally all humans experience when consuming media they like. Luffy could easily be transfem AND transmasc, depending on who's watching and i think that's a beautiful thing because I don't think he'd want it any other way. WE ARE FREE TO BE HUMAN, SO LET OTHER BE THAT TOO!!!
