Hi Anon :) I fear I can’t ever think of one singular headcanon for those two at a time so here’s a short list of ones I’ve jotted down for the purpose of fic writing this week:

Toph very much abuses the fact that Sokka constantly forgets she can truthseek him. An example of this would be that he’d insist he's fine, and she'll deadpan, "Your heartbeat says otherwise, Snoozles." Every single time, he’ll groan, say something about how she shouldn’t be truth seeking him, and she’ll shrug, waiting for him to fess up on what’s bothering him. (Also, 99% of the time, she just knows something is wrong without confirming with his heartbeat through the ground)

Sokka has an entire catalog of these accommodations he makes for Toph without thinking about them anymore. He keeps walkways clear (despite her not necessarily needing it), describes people's expressions during conversations, and doesn't even realize he's doing it until someone points it out. He’s thoughtful, but it’s merely a kneejerk type of thing with her

Whenever Toph gets injured, Sokka gets quiet. Everyone else thinks he's handling it well until they realize he's skipped meals and hasn't slept because he's too busy hovering and worrying until she tells him to cut it out and that she’s fine

Sokka is the only person Toph consistently lets touch her face. She'd never admit it out loud, but sometimes she'll reach for his hand and guide it there herself when she's feeling vulnerable, though she’d never say it aloud

Toph has no patience for romance in theory, but she's quite sentimental in practice. She remembers every dumb thing Sokka has ever made her, every joke he's repeated a hundred times, every terrible little haiku because he won’t stop coming up with them. She'll roast him while secretly keeping all of it in a little corner reserved for him in her head that’s already becoming overpopulated

Sokka's love language is fixing things and Toph's is making room. Like, he’ll build her things and carry burdens she doesn't ask him to carry, and will anticipate needs before she voices them. Toph, meanwhile, lets him rest, be scared, fail. But she also gives him somewhere he doesn't have to be the responsible one all the time

Neither of them says "I love you" first after fights because they’re so stubborn but they’ll apologize through actions because they both know how much more significant those are to one another. Sokka will cook her something, and maybe Toph will sit close enough that their shoulders touch

Toph either independently finds Sokka’s space sword, or she announces a random trip that they go on and his only task is to ask no questions, only to find that they’re arriving where the war ended several years earlier in order to find the sword

If marriage is in their cards, he makes her a betrothal stone, rather than giving her a necklace, and in return, she’ll make him a ring when it comes to their engagement

Imagine one day a Kusuriuri shows up and meets the gaang.

The first one who recognizes him is Toph because he has no heartbeat (this is a headcanon, either this or his rythm is off, either way she would immediately notice)

She stops him to call him out because weird shit is weird and needs to be investigated

He would humor her for a second and let her do her investigation, be the cryptic bitch he is

And then Aang enters the scene. Since all of this is pretty much linked to the bagua Aang might have heard stories of him and the other 63 medicine vendors (to link it further since the air nomads were very spiritual to me it would make sense there would have been at least mentions or legends)

Aang would approach him respectfully, a small smile on his lips. He is somewhat excited to find out the stories were true. But he also worries because if a medicine vendor is here it means something else is also about to happen. He is a dark omen after all

Maybe Aang even asks if he may see his sword

Sokka would be very Odajima and be very sceptical towards the whole deal, try to force the sword out, etc. We all know what that would look like and how that would go.

Aang would ask everyone to help unveiling what is hidden since it will help keeping things from escalating. If shit hits the fan even the Avatar won't be able to help (even spirit bending wont do it. I decided this)

Yeah idk this is the idea so far. I hope i can come up with some more because it's fun to explore. Like the form, truth and reason of the mononoke would be nice to figure out (i kinda don't want it to become anyone of the gaang, more like someone who is around but since they are in the same space now they have no choice but to stay. That can change tho, Zuko is great at holding grudges after all lol)

Hellooooo Anon! I always love sharing my views and hcs on Toph, so of COURSE I want to share <3

Toph remembers everyone's birthday, and she pretends she doesn’t. Tied to that is that if someone mentions wanting something six months ago, she suddenly drops it in their lap with a shrug and brushes off any notes of appreciation given to her as if it weren't a big deal when it's the biggest deal

When she's not trying or making an effort to tune into heartbeat patterns or whatever (emphasis on that because we all know she's a human lie detector as a whole), she can tell when people are lying to themselves much faster than when they’re lying to her. She’s frighteningly good at calling out everyone else’s emotional nonsense and absolutely terrible at recognizing her own or simply refuses to acknowledge it

Physical affection comes easier to her than verbal affection. When trust and comfort are there, leaning against someone, bumping shoulders, grabbing a wrist, stealing a blanket, but saying it is like forcibly removing a limb lmao. Was just talking about this with someone too, but she feels like the type to fall asleep on the shoulder of someone she trusts. And you know, all those shows of affection through punching fall under this category, too

She has a habit of sitting too close to people she trusts lol

Toph’s first instinct when she’s upset is isolation. She wants to get herself under control before anyone notices because being witnessed in the middle of an emotional spiral feels more uncomfortable to her than the spiral itself. She's supposed to come off as stoic and hardened, and for anyone to see anything other than that image she purposefully created for himself is unthinkable

She hates being pitied more than almost anything. It makes her feel trapped in her own skin. Don't feel bad for her

Compliments stick with her far longer than insults do. She’ll shrug off someone calling her difficult or stubborn, but if somebody says something genuinely kind about who she is as a person, she’ll think about it for weeks

Toph remembers every person who chose her when they didn’t have to. She’d never admit it, though

She is much better at handling physical pain than emotional pain because one is easier to handle and get over than the other. The latter is messy and unpredictable, and she hates not knowing how to fight it when any physical pain can be kicked and ignored

She struggles with needing people, and she really tries not to. Because trust can be earned. Need feels dangerous and scary and why would she ever feel like she needs something or someone when she should, first and foremost and always rely on herself

When she’s scared someone will leave, she'll pull away first. She’d rather convince herself it was her decision than risk being caught off guard. (i.e., when it comes to her and Sokka getting into a relationship, if she feels like he might leave first for whatever reason (because she assumes that he is going to treat her the same way he's treated his other girlfriends or conquests and he doesn't because she's not them), she's going to refuse to give, to give him a quiet out)

Toph has a habit of turning serious conversations into arguments because anger feels easier to manage than hurt. Shocker!

She can usually tell when someone she loves is suffering before they say anything. What she doesn’t know how to do is sit still and watch it happen, which means she often tries to fix problems that can’t actually be fixed, and she does so in a very indirect way because she would hate it (and she does hate it) when people stick their noses into business that isn't theirs to stick their noses into

A lot of her confidence comes from competence. When she can’t solve a problem, protect someone, or make something better, she feels far more helpless than she lets on... which is not at all

She wants reassurance more often than she’d ever ask for it, and if she has to ask, it doesn’t feel real. The words mean the most when they’re offered freely :)

Here some cringe smut headcanon i will look over and regret writing in a few weeks to months

Pairing: Suki/Toph (some Sokka on the side but easily deleteable if unwanted lol)

The gaang goes on beach vacation to ember island (or wherever it's warm) and they sit at a campfire in the evening with some booze and while they are having a good time Suki suddenly has the idea of demonstrating what a boob luge is. She asks for a volunteer and grabs Toph before she can even raise a hand because when Suki says volunteer it means Toph. Suki kneels down and leans back a bit, Toph pushes her tits together and Suki pours her drink down in between her tits for Toph to sip.

Possible reactions of everyone else:

Aang: claps and laughs, to him it's all just good fun

Katara: is in between uncomfortable laughter and snarky remarks, endures it

Zuko: rubbed his face in disdain of his friends stupidity, then decided to just watch it in the most matter of fact way possible to avoid further damage

Sokka: wants to look, doesn't dare to because he just knows he is about to pop the hardest boner in existence and he is not ready for everyone to see it, ESPECIALLY not his sister

After that Toph makes sure to brush Suki somewhere with her foot all the time to make up for the fact she can't give each other naughty looks

I do want to add i am not satisfied with the position up there, i wanted Suki to push her tits together and lean far enough back for Toph to have to hold her. Looked hotter in my head at least. But then who is gonna pour the drink? It's definitely not Sokka or Katara for different reasons each. Could be Aang or Zuko sacrificing himself. Do whatever you want with it lol

This is a wee bit messy, i don't know why its so hard to write stuff for 3 people

Sokka is pathetic. In every way possible but especially the noises he makes. We are talking about a spectrum of low, breathy grunts to high pitched whimpers

Sokka thinks he is in charge. He is not. But the two women let him have it to boost his ego a little until he is at a point where he doesn't realize what is going on anyway because his brains go straight out of the window

The one who's actually in charge is Suki, who gets everyone where she wants them with sweet encouragement and clever redirections

She is also the one who started this entire deal with amazing seduction skills

Toph is the brattiest switch to ever switch and likes to toy with them in borderline satanic ways, be their cute little plaything or anything thats in between

The first few times Toph was shy and hid her face wherever she could, tried to make as little noise as possible and Sokka and Suki took this as a challenge

Toph sometimes uses her bending skills to create toys that can even vibrate. Most of the time it's her meteorite bracelet and Sokka wasn't that impressed in the beginning

Toph has them blindfolded at least twice. Twice because the first time they couldn't stop laughing. Sokka fell off the bed

Sokka and Toph often have their little arguments and banter, they like to fight for dominance and on rare occasions one of them cries

Because she is blind Suki likes to use words to get Toph going, she surprisingly is better at this than Sokka because he is a little too direct with things while Suki has a lot more tact for this

Okay guys, let me add my mustard (german saying) to Tophs baby daddy situation. And yeah it IS pretty basic. Just another story that tries to explain some whys basically. This is not supposed to be a theory but a headcanon

About Lin:

Her dad is Zuko and Toph doesn't know it, she walked into his palace one day to visit him, they ended up drinking too much and when Zuko woke up he found evidence they might have done things in their wasted state, still next to her in bed and he made an unwise choice of making the evidence dissapear by putting some clothes on both of them. There is a chance Toph has a feeling it was him but she has no proof, she would have trusted him telling her if he knew anything. And also it would be a catastrophe for Lin so he rather keeps this covered. If it wasn't for the crazy circumstances he would have taken responsibility

Aboug Suyin:

This one is Sokkas. And Sokka was in a bad position when they made her. Suki has died, that made him fall into a deep hole. Both of them, Sokka and Suki were good friends with Toph and she allowed him to move in with her until he could stand on his own feet again. They had a small affair to numb the pain of loss and this is how Suyin was made. Before Sokka even knew anything about Toph beeing pregnant he got called back to the southern watertribe. Sokka knows Suyin is his and he loves her tons, but it pains him too much to take the responsibility after Sukis death. Also because he normally is far away from Toph and her kids and he knows she would not come to the southern watertribe with him. In another life he would have loved to be Suyins and Lins father, even if Lin was not his own daughter. She didn’t need to try to grow on him while he lived with Toph and her, he loved her since she was born.

And yes, technically both know their dads but just not as their dads

Singing skill headcanons for the gaang

First of all

Can anyone of them sing properly? Probably not.

But lets look at each of their skills, shall we?

Aang: probably grew up with some basics but as soon as it goes out of his range his voice gets small and whispy and he'd rather stay with his chanting

Katara: Probably is the only one in the group who sounds okay. She knows a few lullabies and they are quite lovely but don't expect masterpieces

Sokka: His singing has healing properties. He can wake up coma patients from a deep, long slumber to tell him to shut the fuck up

Toph: due to her blindness her ears are automatically trained better and she has an easier time telling notes apart. But other than knowing how to be on pitch she doesn't do much for it to sound good.

Zuko: He is too shy. He wouldn't try if his life depended on it. (Edit: Got some canon lore thrown at me: he has a lovely singing voice according to Iroh. So maybe it really just comes down to him beeing too shy and sometimes quietly hums or sings when nobody is listening)

Suki: To everyones regret she has found her passion in singing during her time as a fan of Trustfully in Love. She doesn't know what a key is. The gaang loves her very much

Edit: i forgot to mention that Katara and Sokka might know how to throat sing tho.
