Hogwarts Houses common rooms in Halloween seasonÂ
âSeptember is a month like any other and unlike any other. It seems in September everything awaited will arrive: in the calm air, in a particular scent, in the stillness of the quay. When September comes, I know Iâm going to lose myself.â

Stunning Travel Journal by Ieva Ozola
Latvian graphic designer and illustrator Ieva Ozola has made it her mission to sketch the location of every place she visits daily. As a current resident of Prague, Ozola began this project in July 2015. Without fail, she brings her small sketchbook, liquid pen, pencils and watercolors on the go. A romantic idea, she hopes to capture every space permanently on paper. She confesses that sheâd like to remember every location she visits.
Currently on day 196, Ozolaâs personal challenge has become an artistic expression of human memory and chronology. Often depicting watercolor illustration of Prague with the inclusion of Norway, France and Latvia, each passage holds a unique identity. Among the beautiful sceneries are some of the colonial cityâs most recognizable architectural wonders, which include Pragueâs Astronomical Clock and the Dancing House.
Although Ozola mainly creates cityscape pieces, she inserts silent wonders of European nature. The combination of mountainous images, seascapes, and flowers amongst the urban recollections composed of architectural wonders, which seemed plucked out of a page of a fairytale, provide a quixotic perspective of travel and daily life.

Compelling First Lines of Famous Books.
// What kind of a disney princess are you? (insp)
Iâve learned to sneak my books when I can find a moment. Beneath my desk, at the table at lunch, under the blankets at night.
âI am profoundly enchanted by the flowing complexity in you.â
â John Keats, âLetter to Fanny Brawneâ November 5, 1820 (via wordsnquotes)
Did I read the first three books in the Selection series in 4 days? Yes. Yes I did...
The withdrawal is real.
Also should I read the next two?
âBreak my heart. Break it a thousand times if you like, it was only ever yours to break anyway.â
â Maxon Schreave (basically redeclaring his love for America. And stating my favorite quote in all books ever)
âTo love someone is like moving into a house,â Sonja used to say. "At first you fall in love in everything new, you wonder every morning that this is oneâs own, as if they are afraid that someone will suddenly come tumbling through the door and say that there has been a serious mistake and that it simply was not meant to would live so fine. But as the years go by, the facade worn, the wood cracks here and there, and you start to love this house not so much for all the ways it is perfect in that for all the ways it is not. You become familiar with all its nooks and crannies. How to avoid that the key gets stuck in the lock if it is cold outside. Which floorboards have some give when you step on them, and exactly how to open the doors for them not to creak. Thatâs it, all the little secrets that make it your home.â
â Fredrik Backman, A Man Called Ove
ââShe just smiled, said that she loved books more than anything, and started telling him excitedly what each of the ones in her lap was about. And Ove realised that he wanted to hear her talking about the things she loved for the rest of his life.ââ
â Fredrik Backman, A Man Called Ove
Roses are red, that much is true, but violets are purple, not fucking blue.
I have been waiting for this post all my life.
They are indeed purple, But one thing youâve missed: The concept of âpurpleâ Didnât always exist.
Some cultures lack names For a color, you see. Hence good old Homer And his âwine-dark sea.â
A usage so quaint, A phrasing so old, For verses of romance Is sheer fucking gold.
So roses are red. Violets once were called blue. Iâm hugely pedantic But what else is new?
My friend youâre not wrong About Homerâs wine-ey sea! Colours are a matter Of cultural contingency;
Words are in flux And meanings they drift But the word purple Youâve given short shrift.
The concept of purple, My friends, is old And refers to a pigment once precious as gold.
By crushing up molluscs From the wine-dark sea You make a dye: Imperial decree
Meant that in Rome, to wear purpura was a privilege reserved
For only the emperor!
The word âpurpleâ, for clothes so fancy, Entered English By the ninth century
.
Why then are voilets Not purple in song? The dye from this mollusc, known for so long
Is almost magenta; More red than blue. The concept of purple is old, and yet new.
The dye is red, So this might be true: Roses are purple And violets are blue
.
While this song makes me merry, Tyrian purple dyes many a hue From magenta to berry And a true purple too.
But fun as it is to watch this poetic race The answer is staring you right in the face: Roses are red and violets are blue Because nothing fucking rhymes with purple.
IT GOT SO MUCH BETTER.
My reaction, only with coffee.
Hang on, need to send this to my literature prof
