Kindergarten 2 Roleplay Account! Ozzy |Still Learning|

“S-Somethin about plants today I th-think..” Ozzy shrugged, not too sure what they would be learning. That’s just what he remembered being mentioned before.

He didn’t mind Ted following, he was just a bit awkward about it.

      ———  “ …Ah… Plants. That’s, um, pretty cool!  ”   Ted smiled, ignoring the memory of the plan he had way earlier in the day, doing his best not to think of green flowers. 

     He kinda moved on from that already, anyway, now that he was friends with Ozzy. Of course he couldn’t kill him now.  “ I don’t really know much about that, but I guess that’s why we gotta learn it. ” 

     It was a pretty new experience, getting to go up to the science lab for the last class of the day. He looked around, eyes bright as he walked into the room to set his gaze on the large plant Dr. Danner had set up on the floor.

Ozzy nodded with a little hum. “Y- Yeah. I don’t really li- like plants though..” He grumbled. “Dirty.” He specified. Flowers themselves were usually fine; but the issue he had was the dirt and bugs.

“Y- You don’t attend this cla- as much, do you?”

Ozzy smiled and nodded, letting himself get a bit more comfy by Ron’s side. “Yeah… You- You do. And you need to ne-ver ever do that again!” He huffed. “I- I was worried sick.” He pouted.

Ozzy didn’t like the idea of losing Ron, and the thought just kept coming back to him. It was upsetting him.

     He was definitely more comforted with Ozzy by his side. Ron felt like he could endure the pain and all that stuff but what he regretted the most was making Ozzy feel this worried about him because of what happened. He felt awful. He leaned his head toward Ozzy, trying to nuzzle him and comfort him a bit more.

      ———  “ Sorry, Oz… ”  Ron smiled apologetically,  “ I promise, I won’t do it again. I learned my lesson– I actually mean it this time. ”

Ozzy allowed Ron to nuzzle him, leaning into it instinctively. It felt nice and he enjoyed the affection. Ron and Madison always felt amazing — They were warm. At least, warmer than Ozzy was; plus, they were usually gentle with him when being genuine.

He let out a soft sniffle as he nodded, closing his eyes to help himself relax. “Okay.. As long as you promise...” He mumbled, gently holding onto Ron’s hand.

Ozzy hiccuped a bit and nodded, smiling at Ron. He wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon. “Mhm!” He hummed, seeming to be calming down the more they talked.

“Do- Do you wanna have a sleepover when you- you’re all better?” He offered, tilting his head a little bit. He was gonna say the offer was just for Ron’s sake, but it was obvious Ozzy just didn’t wanna stay far from his friend.

     As long as Ozzy was okay, Ron didn’t mind all the casts and monitors and stuff around him. He smiled back a little wider seeing that Ozzy was calming down now. And at the suggestion of a sleepover, his eyes lit up excitedly.

      ———  “ Yeah!  That sounds awesome!  You know I’d love to. ”  He grinned, barely containing himself. He wanted to nod, but even that hurt a little so he didn’t.  “ I guess I really gotta get better soon now, huh. ”

Ozzy looked a bit confused, but he nodded and headed to Dr. Danner’s class with Ted. He didn’t really understand why the other would wanna come, but he wouldn’t mind, really. After all, he did agree to be friends with him. “A- Alright. Sure.”

Ron and Madison would probably be proud of him… When he sees them again, they’d be happy to hear he made another friend. Right?

     Briefly, Ted was wondering if he was being too much, or maybe he was just annoying Ozzy by following him into class. Maybe he’d think it was creepy or something. But it was either that, or Ted basically being alone for gym, but he didn’t want to risk losing a friend just as soon as he’d made one. A little too late to back out from his decision.

     He decided to keep those thoughts to himself and just looked excited as he walked with Ozzy up to Dr. Danner’s class.  “ What do you think we’re gonna learn today?  I don’t really know the schedule for the science lessons that well, so… ”

Ozzy listened to Ron and laughed a little bit, nodding. He sniffled, pathetically leaning over to give his friend a small kiss on the forehead. He didn’t really know why he wanted to do that, but he did. “Okay…” He nodded.

“I’ll- I’ll visit lots!” He assured, smiling at Ron. He was determined to help. Plus he was refusing to let go of Ron’s hand.

     That was pretty unexpected. But it was sweet of Ozzy to be all affectionate like that, and Ron flashed a smile back at him. He was kinda just happy Oz cared so much. Maybe they’d both chalk up the sudden heat in his face to Ron dealing with the medicine the doctors gave him.

      ———  “ Great!  I’m looking forward to it. ”  Ron happily held his best friend’s hand.

Ozzy jumped at the bell, tugging his hair, but he nodded at Ted. “Y- Yeah.” He mumbled, getting up and brushing himself off.

“You..?” He tilted his head a bit. He wasn’t gonna talk long, but he would wait a small bit.

     Letting the swing come to a stop, Ted hesitantly stood up. He just didn’t want recess to be over, but if he got to go to class with a friend this time, he could probably bear it. Since Felix wasn’t present anyway, he probably wouldn’t mind it if Ted went with Ozzy for a change. As long as he didn’t find out.

      ———  “ Um, well, I think I’ll join you today!  Let’s go together!  ”   He smiled, ready to pay the lab fee. He wasn’t all that good with science stuff but he couldn’t pass up hanging out with Ozzy some more.

“Y- You’re so stupid…” Ozzy whined, tearing up but not crying just yet. He was just relieved. “I’m,, I’m fine- Just g-glad youre okay…” He nodded, gently reaching over to hold Ron’s hand carefully. He hoped that wouldn’t hurt.

He just wanted to keep checking that Ron was actually okay and he wasn’t imagining it. He hoped that wasn’t the case.

     Ron let out his signature laugh, and feeling Ozzy’s hand clasp his own, he squeezed gently. It didn’t really hurt, since his hand didn’t have any issues. More so just his torso. For the moment, it seemed the doctors were talking to Ron’s parents, and he was free to talk to Ozzy.

      ———  “ I know, I know. ”  He smiled.  “ I’m glad too. And… I’m really glad you were there for me, y’know. ”

     Without Ozzy calling 911… Ron didn’t really know what would’ve happened. It sounded kinda serious when the grown ups talked to him after he woke up. Well, the important thing was that he was fine now, but speaking of which,  “ …The doctor said I’m gonna have to stay in bed in these casts until I heal though, and that kinda sucks. I’m gonna be so bored not doing anything!  So you gotta visit me, okay?  ”

Ozzy tilted his head at Ted’s reaction, just deciding to let him let his happiness out.

At the question, he looked confused, nodding. “Of- Of course, Theodore- If you w- want to.” He didn’t see an issue with it, so he just agreed.

     He should really be getting used to this rush of happiness by now, but Ted just couldn’t help himself. He had friends!  How could he not be excited about that?

      ———  “ Okay!  Of course. I’d love to. I’m looking forward to it, then. ”  Ted grinned, continuing to swing a bit more. 

     At least until the bell rang.  “ …Aw man. ”  Ted was a bit disappointed. But that was okay, since he’d get to play more the next day. He turned to Ozzy,  “ So, um, you’re going to science class, right?  ”

Ozzy jumped at the bell, tugging his hair, but he nodded at Ted. “Y- Yeah.” He mumbled, getting up and brushing himself off.

Ozzy waited impatiently in the lobby until he was allowed to visit too.

Once he was allowed, he immediately went to his friends side, doin his best to peek onto the bed. Since he was so small, that was difficult- But he tried his best.

“Ron?” He whined, wanting time hear him say something. He was careful not to touch Ron, not wanting to cause pain. He wasn’t worried about cleanliness for once, only worried for Ron’s health.

     Hearing the voice of his best friend and looking up to see his parents, Ron managed to stir into consciousness a little more. Despite what he’d gone through, there was a big smile on his face as soon as he heard his name being called.

      ———  “ Ozzy?  Ozzy!!  ”   Ron exclaimed, though he winced for a moment as he tried to twist himself to look down past the bed mattress and figured out he probably shouldn’t do that. 

     Even still, he smiled as he relaxed again,  “ And nay and tay… I’m so glad to see you. ” Looking down again at his friend as much as he could, however, he remembered how tearful Ozzy had been while Ron was in his arms and he could only imagine how worried he was for Ron all this time between then.  “ Oz… Are you okay?  ”

Ozzy was quiet for a little bit, then nodded. “Sure…” He huffed. “We- We can be friends.”

He didn’t usually try befriending the other kids, he had his group… But Ted didn’t seem that bad, so he wouldn’t mind.

      ———  “ Wow!  Yay, I’m glad. ”  Ted was practically beaming the moment Ozzy said that. 

     Being friends with Ozzy– He’d kind of admired the other boy from afar for a while, so actually getting to be friends with him was a nice feeling. And hanging out with his other friends seemed like so much fun too!

      ———  “ So then, um… ”  He looked back at his new friend, smiling,  “ Can we play again tomorrow?  ”   It probably made sense they would, but he just really wanted to be sure this wasn’t just, a today thing.

Ozzy gave any details he could for the nurses to contact Ron’s parents or anything else. But, he declined the offer of them contacting his own parents. He wanted to wait for Ron, to he opted for staying put - Even if it was going to take hours.

He wasn’t going to leave without Ron.

     The nurse thanked him for the information, though it didn’t seem they were that keen on leaving a child in the waiting lobby by himself. It seemed like a slow enough day for one of the receptionists to keep an eye on him until Ron was stabilized.

     So while that happened, Ron’s parents were called and quickly, frantically came to settle things with the hospital staff. It took a long while until it seemed Ron was stable enough to be allowed visitors, and that was when his parents and Ozzy were ushered into the room he was resting in.

     He didn’t look great, hooked up to all sorts of monitors. But it seemed he was awake now and faring a lot better than he was before getting to the hospital.

     He let out a laugh at that response. Ted expected nothing less from Ozzy, and while he knew not to get his hopes up that Ozzy would actually be willing to hug him, it was nice enough to hear he’d keep it in mind anyway.

      ———  “ Of course!  ”   Ted replied,  “ …At least, I’m pretty sure it does. ”  Not like he would know about friend stuff anyway.  “ Well, that is, if you want to be. ”

Ozzy hesitantly accepted the candy. He figured it was fine, since it was from paramedics — One of the few kinds of people he never worried about being clean. Plus, he’s a kid, and candy was always a nice treat.

He started to munch on it quickly, falling quiet as he went with whatever was happening, just wanting Ron to be okay already.

     Ron was still unconscious where he was laying. Thankfully it wasn’t too long until they got to the hospital, and Ron got wheeled into the emergency room. Unfortunately for Ozzy, he would have to stay in the waiting room while they worked on Ron, which would likely take a few hours until Ozzy could see him.

     Which was something one of the nurses warned him of. Of course, they’d need him to help identify Ron so they could contact his parents;  Ron couldn’t exactly answer any questions himself. Then they also had to ask Ozzy if he needed anyone to call his own parents to pick him up.

He hummed, looking up at the sky and leaning back a bit. “I bet you giv- give great hugs, then…” He paused. “B- But still don’t tou-ch me! That’s not an-an invitation.”

     Teddy bears?  That was a pretty fair correlation. The thought of that made him giggle for a moment;  it was kind of a nice thing to say!  He liked teddy bears so he would take it as a compliment. Being called ‘Theo’ wasn’t bad either.

      ———  “ Thanks!  ”   He smiled. And that comment about hugs– and not to give Ozzy one, made him laugh a bit again.  “ Don’t worry, I won’t. If you ever do want one though, I won’t mind. ”

Well, he was already relieved from the paramedics arriving, but still. More relief.

     It made sense that Ozzy couldn’t answer everything, especially considering he was so young. The emergency workers didn’t expect him to, of course. But he was the only one there around Ron at the time, and they needed all the information they could get to figure out what happened to him so they could help him properly.

     After they were done questioning Ozzy, one of them offered him one of the pieces of candy they kept around for kids and diabetic people. Kind of a reward for doing such a good job helping and taking this so well. And they didn’t want him to worry too much on the way to the hospital, but it wouldn’t be that long until they got there anyway. Still, Ron would have to be wheeled away and treated immediately once they did get there. His injuries were a little more on the serious side than he wanted to let on.

Ozzy nodded. “Ah, okay, I see. I- I guess that makes sense. Do you l- like the nickname?” He questioned curiously, tilting his head.

“Or d- do you just let him call you it be- because it’s Felix?”

     Ted was about to say  “ Yeah!  ”   without even really paying much attention to the question, but he stopped himself and thought about it. Did he actually like the nickname after all?  He never really thought about that before.

     Eventually he came to shrug,  “ Um… Well, I mean, I don’t really like it, but I don’t mind it!  I guess I do let him call me it ‘cause it’s Felix. It’s kind of his thing, and, I guess it stuck. ”

Ozzy glanced up at the sound, relieved to hear it. He wanted it to come faster, but he knew they were coming as quick as they could.

He hugged Ron close to him, resting his head on top of Ron’s, eventually moving a bit to rest the side of his head on Ron’s chest. He wanted to hear his heartbeat.

     And indeed they were, thanks to the blaring sirens and their lights turned on. The traffic had cleared the road as the ambulance came closer, soon enough coming to a stop by where the two boys were.

     Even with all the commotion, Ron’s heartbeat was a steady slow pulse– Much lower than it normally should be as he was falling further into unconsciousness. With that, Ron was gradually losing grip of Ozzy’s hand, but it wasn’t like he was dead– Just passed out. In the moments before the paramedics took him from Ozzy, Ron was just happy he had his best friend by his side the whole time.

     The EMTs made sure to check over Ron, seeing if any urgent conditions needed to be attended to. Because Ozzy was with him, they had to ask him a barrage of questions on the scene;  the standard ‘what happened, what were his symptoms like, what did he do before they got there, etc’. One of the paramedics spoke up to let Ozzy ride in the ambulance to the hospital to answer a few more things on the way.
