âBurger Joint- Production Meeting pt 3â
The Caliban boys sat down in a booth not too close to the production meeting. Eugene came over
Eugene: Hello, Wednesday! I thought you would be meeting with Enid and the Ophelia Hall team
Ms Rowling: Excuse me! This is an important meeting. Please leave
Wednesday: Again. This is a popular eating spot not only for the town of Jericho but students of Nevermore. If you wanted a more private location? You would not have chosen a popular student hangout
Mr Burton: Wednesday is right, Kingsley.
Ms Rowling: I wanted a nice meal alongside our meeting. The burgers they provided the first night were divine
Morticia: Eugene. We are having a production meeting. Wednesdayâs Poe Cup teammates went elsewhere to discuss things
Eugene: I see. You wonât eavesdrop on us will you?
Wednesday: I will neither confirm or deny. However you should know the answer to that. Other than my family and Enid? You know me the best
Eugene went back to the others
Wednesday: -turning to Mr Waipapa- What did you go over with Hunter? You said you discussed how to use less post production?
Mr Waipapa: Yes! Hunter is amazing at what he can do!
Mr Burton: We went over a that started with making Hunter more comfortable with few things with the costuming department and did some work on redesigning of the costume so that the devil can be done entirely practical. The budget set aside for FX is being moved to to insurance and stunt budget
Ms Rowling: Mr Johnson should be in on this discussion
Wednesday: He is in the hospital recovering from his arrogance.
Ms Rowling: What does that mean?
Wednesday: it means he listened to an elitist snob of a fan and his inflated ego got the best of him. His WEF theatrics were no match for real life.
Morticia: and nature. Phineas, Flower and Bianca did quite well. As did you, my dear.
Wednesday: Thank you, mother. I am sorry as well.
Morticia: That is all right, my little raven. Grimheld and I had a discussion about things afterward. She too did not expect things to go the way that things did.
Mr Burton: Doug was not in Burlington with us. He remained here?
Wednesday: Yes. And proved himself quite the menace. He was lucky he was not injured more than he was. And he would be wise to keep quiet. I am sure being bested by three dwarf skunks and a âhalf pint Latinaâ would not look good on his resume
Mr Burton: what exactly happened? So I have documentation from different sources
Wednesday: I applied a pressure point on him to immobilize him. Then released said pressure point and allowed him to prove his masculinity and power against Tyler. Tyler understood the assignment and merely wore him out. Did not physically hurt him any more than a high stakes wrestling entertainment match would have
Mr Waipapa: Tyler is some sort of outcast?
Morticia: A Hyde. He was only part of the threat we faced. But due to his Hyde nature one of the more dangerous ones
Ms Rowling: all this talk of outcasts and monsters. This is not a fantasy
Morticia: I can assure you, Ms Rowling. The fantasy is quite real
Ms Rowling: I refuse to believe that
Wednesday: This coming from a writer whose bread and butter is a world where magic exists along with magical creatures. Then again you have named the school in Asia literally MahouGakkĆ and said itâs pronounced Ma-hog-ak-koh. When Mahou means magic. And GakkĆ means school?
Ms Rowling: itâs Japanese. How would you know?
Wednesday: actually, I speak several languages. English, Spanish; dialects of Mexico, Puerto Rico and Spain, Italian, French as well as Dutch and German. I know some Japanese from my brotherâs passion for anime and Tokusatsu. I have also picked up some Korean from my girlfriendâs infatuation with K-Pop
Morticia: and some of the native tongues of Mexico am I right?
Wednesday: Yes. Pugsley knows Ê»Ćlelo HawaiÊ»i as well.
Ms Rowling: how is it that a child knows all these languages?
Wednesday: oh, so now you acknowledge I am a juvenile? Language has always fascinated me. I prefer to read texts in the original language.
Morticia: Wednesday has always been an overachieving child. My son Pugsley sometimes not so much. How was it you described him, dear?
Wednesday: that he has the brains of a dung beetle and the ambition of a French bureaucrat?
Morticia: mmm. Yes that was it. Quite mechanically gifted as well. Better than you
Mr Waipapa: Robotics? The effects crew did not expect such the challenge in having to deal with that
Ms Rowling: which is why the post production special effects are needed
Mr Burton: Tearika. You and Hunter have been working with the stunt/effects crew. Put together an ambition plan. What they can do and what they wish they could do. Perhaps Pugsley can help.
Wednesday: he is formulating plans for Ophelia Hallâs Poe Cup boat. The Poe Cup isnât until March. There is still time. February we have Parents Weekend. And a visit from Shiz Academy for the fencing tournament
Morticia: When is Ilvermornyâa visit? That is what your grandmothers are preparing for correct? Not Shiz Academy?
Wednesday: After Shiz. After the Poe Cup, just before Spring Break
Ms Rowling: fencing? You know sword fighting? Why did you eliminate my big sword fight scene?
Wednesday: because 1 pulling a champion sword from a rock is cliche 2 fencing is not the same as fighting with a sword you intended. The fencing in my story was merely to establish a rivalry/frenemy dynamic between Hela and Adelle
Mr Burton: thatâs another expense we can remove then. Fencing lessons for Harley. She was supposed to start just before we had to leave. She was disappointed that the instructor couldnât stay because of the delay
Wednesday: I did not remove the fencing in my notes. I am co captain of the fencing team along with Bianca whom Adelle is based on. She is welcome to join our practices and still learn. Jubilee as well. The new faces at practice would be a welcome challenge.
Mr Burton: do you think we could film in Nevermore? It would save us having to build a fencing set in Jericho High as we were initially planning
Morticia: I will speak with Elphaba. Iâm sure something can be arranged
Ms Rowling: Not excellent! This will ad to the budget! Are you and your family going to pay for this, Mrs Addams?
Wednesday: Quite the contrary. We are saving costs. Nevermore has an area dedicated to fencing for our classes and fencing team practice. We have all the supplies and gear necessary. Although we do use the Jericho High School gym for when we host the tournament we do not need that for the scenes that require fencing.
Ms Rowling: so my sword fights are being cut? For what? Mere fencing practice?
Mr Burton: Tearika? What is your opinion?
Mr Waipapa: I did feel as though the sword fight was a tad out of place given the Scooby Doo feeling of the investigation. Having read the initial story entry and the notes Wednesday made? I feel the fencing practice could add more. We could even add some more characters and make more of a development scene
Mr Burton: I agree. It would change up the storyline a bit. Just can do that in editing. Wednesday, do you agree?
Wednesday: I am not going to object
Ms Rowling: Well! I object! You are completely rewriting my script!
Wednesday: just as you completely rewrote my story!
