Yes I like fictional characters a very normal amount. Don’t look at my blog.
I'm trying to take the high road but I'm like, dragging myself bleeding and sobbing along the high road while looking so so longingly at the low road
#AND that fucker taking the low road is going to get to Scotland afore me. very annoying.
Among the many amazing aspects of the Hadestown pro-shot, one of my favorites is the way Patrick Pages injury provides an excellent example of how disability does not have to be barrier to musical theatre. The way his injury was presented, especially in Hades and Persephone's dance, shows how with enough care, choreography and blocking can be modified for a disability and still present a beautiful story. In fact, the pro-shot shows how disability can not only be accommodated, but also utilized for characterization and storytelling.
you are not immune to inventing an arbitrary set of rules that only you have to adhere to
mutuals can always dm me but be warned i talk like your coworker who is trying too hard to get to know you and my response times are akin to the response times you might get if we were communicating by letter
was outside earlier and a bird Came Up, squatted down, fluttered it’s wings at me and opened its mouth like a hatchling begging for food (it was a grown female) so I went and checked the seed cube in the feeder and the thing was completely covered in mold. this is one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me. how did she know im the one in charge of the birdseed. How Did She Know To Pantomime Hunger At Me. Hello.
i have spent my afternoon confusedly getting dressed, driving to the store, purchasing a new seed block, driving home, washing the cage, and getting the feeder set back up. i don’t take this much care for my Own nutrition. ive been bullied into a grocery store run by a tufted titmouse. i feel so loved
i can understand the trials but were the tribulations really necessary
Last year, I befriended a Catholic seminarian. We've gotten to be pretty decent friends. Seeing as he was staying in town for the summer and I wasn't, I entrusted him with caring for my plant.
He did a wonderful job, but as he was returning my plant to my custody, he explained "I watered her every other day, I gave her new dirt, moved her into the sunshine, prayed the rosary-"
"What?"
He looked at me, confused. "Isn't she a plant you pray with?"
"No," I said slowly. "She's a prayer plant. That's the... colloquial name of the plant."
Upon seeing his stricken face, I realized something went wrong. Turns out, this entire time, he's been including my plant in on his prayers and leaving her near icons.
Listen, totally cool. My plant becoming Catholic is a great deal for her not dying over the summer. But now I must navigate this interfaith household. Keep me in your thoughts.
truly few things instantly put me in a bad mood more than humidity

An engineer and an anti-vaxxer walk up to a bridge
Seeing as the bridge is the only crossing over a notoriously crocodile-infested river, the two prepare to cross. Just before they set foot on the bridge the anti-vaxxer halts the engineer.
- How safe is it to cross this bridge exactly? - he asks
- 99.97% - the engineer replies confidently
The anti-vaxxer thinks for a moment before turning around:
- Guess I’m swimming then…

Driving to the orchestra concert that we were playing in:
Me: Do you think I should get evaluated for ADHD as an adult? I cope just fine without a diagnosis, but sometimes it feels like it would be worthwhile to look into.
Brother (who has been diagnosed since childhood): We both fill out enough diagnostic screenings at work to know that you meet a lot of the criteria. And you have my brain, but you just flew under the radar because you were the youngest and least troublesome of us. So it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to look into.
Later, on stage during the (outdoor) concert:
Me: Look, a lightning bug!
Both of us: *turn around to watch it fly and proceed to miss the entrance for the next song because we are watching it instead of the conductor*
Brother, after the song: Yeah, I kind of think that's another answer to your question...
Claudia Kishi vibes tonight with my treats (and glitter jelly sandals) while I start the new baby-sitters club books!
Bonus points to my husband who pre-ordered the book for me at our favorite local bookstore.
