You Have So Much Left To Learn
There are so many things left to learn. After all, at twenty-two, what all can you really do?
There’s jumping a car. Jumping a fence. Grilling a burger. Cleaning said grill. Hitting a ground ball. Turning a double play.
There’s flying a kite with wind. Flying one without. Moving to a new house. Moving to a new state. Making new friends. Making a new family.
There’s packing your bag just right. Packing a box to be shipped to the next store. Receiving a compliment. Receiving a hug. Receiving anything, really, is an art to master sooner rather than later. It’s good you have that one down.
There’s learning humility. Learning to be humble. Trying to remain that way through whatever may come. Not raising your voice despite your anger serves you well. But cutting people off doesn’t.
You need to learn more. You’ve already gained so much, but missed the lecture. When God was going about, teaching other twenty-somethings how to be a functioning adult, you were living on a gym floor, trying to remain a child.
You’ve yet to learn how to bank. How to balance the checkbook and make sure all is well.
You’ve yet to learn how to live alone. Truly.
You’ve yet to learn how to open up. Truly.
You’ve yet to learn to live. Honestly.
You’ve yet to grasp reality. What it is and what it isn’t.
You’ve yet to find someone. You know what I mean.
You’ve yet to measure your success against your past, not anyone else’s present.
You’ve come far, but you’ve yet to learn where life is going to take you.
Then again, that last one may not be so bad.

Last post about it I swear. Last weekend was rough. Going 0-6 and being outscored at a ratio of nearly 10-to-1 and being whalloped by D1 squads would make most teams fold. I've seen it happen over and over and it's incredibly disheartening when people lose their heart in sucb a wonderful sport. But this team has come a long way in a short amount of time and bounced back from adversity. I've been playing this sport for eight years with teams from five states, but not one is as much of a family as the guys and gals from Ohio Valley SCUF. No, we don't do discs. We don't try and win the party Saturday night. We won't dazzle you with athleticism and wind up on SC Top 10. But these men and women will show you love and compassion and sportsmanship that is terribly lacking in many people's lives. After four schools and some stupid number of miles later, I'm glad I ended up at an unknown university on the hillside. I'm glad I was chosen to captain these wonderful folks that I get to call my brothers and sisters. I'm happy that I get to share this sport with them and look forward to what SCUF can do in the coming months. #LiveLaughUltimate #SCUF #OVU #TheNewZealander (at Turner Valley Soccer Fields)

2016 is cancelled, blocked, unfollowed, redacted, and reported
Sooooo, can we put 2017 in the trash too?
And then Satan said… “Put the alphabet in math”.
Not again, Satan
And then humanity put the greek alphabet in math too.
And even Satan raised an eyebrow and left to study art.
