MIA
Been MIA the past week. Aka off the fitness wagon. Still did my best to eat healthy and walk as much as possible but time to get it back together! Got my meal prep done for the week., now time to get back to my workouts! LEG DAY it is!
I've decided I needed some extra motivation in my life. A deadline of sorts. So I booked a trip to Vegas for my birthday in 7 weeks. The clock is now officially ticking... I have exactly 7 weeks from today to be ready to put on my bikini for all of the Vegas pool party crowds😱😬😱😬! Wish me luck😳
So excited! Haven't seen the 130s in over a year!My work here in not done, but got to celebrate the small things!
Day 60 of my fitness journey. I'm not going to lie, this journey has been both harder and more rewarding than anticipated. I'm embracing it as a lifestyle and enjoying my journey much more than I ever have in the past. But weight loss is coming harder and slower for me than it ever has as well. My best guess is that both sides are partly due to the fact I'm doing more weight lifting than in the past, which I find more rewarding than cardio, but burns less calories a minute, and also builds muscle (which is a great thing but makes weight loss not the most accurate marker of progress). Also I'm older than I've ever been in the past (deep thought😜) which means my metabolism is naturally slower, so I'm starting from a lower baseline trying to give my metabolism a boost! I've only lost 4 pounds total in 60 days which is discouraging, but I've taken several inches off my stomach which is my problem area, and I can feel how much stronger and fit I am. I'm using heavier weights than before and with much more confidence and better form. And I no longer get winded easily with cardiovascular exertion. As I continue on this journey I plan to keep chipping away, focusing on the areas I have improved and letting the scales reflect what they may!
Haven't posted in a while because I've been a bit discouraged w my progress. But I still keep plugging away one day at a time. Knowing that if I stop or slow down, my progress won't just be slow but will actually reverse itself, and I REFUSE to let that happen!!!
It's been a rough week! I'm staying on track but it's been a struggle. So glad tomorrow is Friday, and I have the weekend to reset and up my game! Also tomorrow is the end of round 2 of my 21 day fix workouts, which means I'll be 6 weeks deep into my fitness journey. Saturday I'm starting with my 1st round of 21 day fix "extreme" workouts. I'm excited (and a little nervous) to see how I do with them. And of course Saturday means weigh in day, my goal was to get to 140 by the end of round 2; not sure I quite made it but I'm hoping to at least be close.
Accountability
So I just joined a new fitness challenge group to help with my accountability.... today is day #1. I'm suppose to be exercising every morning and tracking my meals with a macros goal of 20% carbs, 40% fat, and 40% protein. I've already been working out every morning and tracking my meals, but 20 carb/ 40 fat is new for me, and so far I'm struggling for ideas on what to eat! If anyone has suggestions please comment with your ideas... I'd love to hear them!
Feeling good!
Day 33 of my fitness adventure! Still a long way from my goal but I’ve only missed 3 days of working out in 33 days, so super proud of myself! Getting up at 5:30 am keeps getting easier, and I find myself actually excited about my workouts instead of dreading them like I did in the past! I'm down 3.2 pounds with 11.5 pounds to go! I've gotten the weight off before, but never in the healthy fit way I'm doing it this time around! Feeling on track w my health and fitness feels great!
Food prep foul😰 I left my beef and veggie stew to cook in the crockpot overnight and got up to find it had sat out all night unplugged. Apparently my fiancé got a late night craving after I went to bed and unplugged it so he could plug in the toaster.😳
Love this sentiment! I drive by a billboard every morning that says... "I wish I'd started later," said no one ever!
It's so true, time flies by and before we know it it's the next month the next year. Make the changes now that will put you where you want to he then.
Didn’t get to do my morning work out today due to being up all night playing nurse maid to my fiancé who has the flu. But at least my meal prep is on point! Spicy tilapia, butternut squash zig zags, and green beans…delish!
This is the hardest part for me. Not letting food and drink over the weekend undo all the good I've done during the week. Today, I'm attending a Beer and Food festival, it's going to be a hard day to keep on track, but I'm going to give it my best shot.
For me Saturday is a good chance to do an extra long work out and play around with different work out moves and routines. Since it's my day off, I don't have the normal time constraints to get my workout done quickly to make it to work on time.
Finished round one of the 21-day fix workouts today! Did my last yoga work out last night so I could get in one extra Cardio session this morning....got up at 5am and did the hardest of the 7 workouts to Finish round 1 Strong! It's been a challenging 3 weeks. I started these workouts feeling like I would never be able to keep up. Getting winded just doing the warm up exercises. I'm still having to take things at a slower pace on a few of the exercises, but for the most part I'm no longer having to modify the actual exercises! Feeling strong! Tomorrow I weigh and take my measurement, then on to round 2!!!
You got this!!
Love this!!! Stay strong!
I'm one of those people that is perpetually hungry. So I'm experimenting w different breakfast ideas to try and find something that keeps me full. Today, Avocado on Ezekiel toast. 2 slices of Ezekiel 4:9 toast + 1/2 avocado = 277 calories of deliciousness! Now to see how long it keeps me satisfied.
Day 20 of “21 Day Fix" workouts (I'm using my fitness pal to track my eating vs the container diet) Can’t say I look like Autumn Calabrese yet but I’m pumped to still be on track! When I started this journey I wasn’t sure I could do it. Getting up at 5:30 am to workout, seemed an impossible chore I didn’t think I could sustain; and the 21 day fix workouts seemed beyond me fitness level. 20 days in, getting up at 5:30 am is starting to feel routine; and although I don’t keep up with Autumn’s pace on some of the harder workouts, I’m much closer! Looking forward to kicking ass next week in round 2!
