Strength in numbers
Today, I decided to do something I’ve never done before. My longest run prior was 13 miles but today flew by with the Portland running group I’ve been training with for my time being in Oregon.
Life rule numero uno: running makes everything better.
Found on Pinterest, excited to try for a bingo this week :)
No bingo but a good week still

My current reads:
Science of Yoga by Ann Swanson to support the start of my own yoga practice. It covers the body, the systems, how they work, and how they are influenced by different asanas. I want to make sure my forms are beneficial and not harmful.
Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. This book has become very popular again. It discusses what sleep is, the numerous roles it plays in our body and health, and the detrimental cost of not sleeping enough. This has given me even more motivation and information on why I should prioritize sleep each day for long term health.
I hope to become well rested and improve my mind-body connection.
this year we are not talking about “girl dinner” we are getting real we are eating full meals and having fun doing it. we are cooking up a protein and a carb and a serving of vegetables and maybe even some dessert too
i recommend telling yourself “this isn’t an experience i want to keep having” and stop entertaining things that are really detrimental to your health and don’t benefit you in anyway.
Last year I listened to the audiobook of Ultra-Processed People by Chris van Tulleken and found the book to be very eye opening. I enjoy reading about nutritional sciences and how food can influence and effect the body. Especially to improve my health, well being, aging, and support my fitness/sports. I recently came across a new book, Ultra-Processed Women, by Milli Hill, that continues this conversation. I have only just started it but am super excited to read about the effects of UPFs specifically on female bodies, an area of the conversation Hill and I find to be constantly excluded.
I definitely recommend the first book and feel confident that the second one will be an informative read as well!
