“Sunflower” Roshe Run Custom

A simple pair of blacked out Roshe Runs with custom sunflower fabric overlays.

After providing the client with a handful of fabric options, we settled on a unique sunflower pattern that will ensure these are one of a kind. They were finished with a neutral paint and matte finish to solidify the fabric and prevent it from tears and fraying.

“Diamond” Dunk Sky High Custom

More work for a repeat client! She wanted a wedge sneaker that incorporated gold, black and turquoise. She also wanted them to have diamonds and stars in some way, so i patterned them asymmetrically on both shoes and added the white dots throughout the upper to fill in gaps; the white sections also glow in the dark.

The final detail added was a pair of metallic gold, leather laces from LaceLab; which almost exactly matched the gold I used for the upper.

“Skyrim” Vans Sk8 Hi Custom

The client waned the Helm of Yngol on one shoe with the logo on the other, to help make them pop I used earth tones as the backdrop. 

His name and “DragonBorn” are written in Skyrim’s Dragon language on the stripes, and he wanted to add the quote from the launch trailer as well. 

These also have celtic symbols and knots on the forefoot in green, per his request.

 Finally, to top off the Viking aesthetic, I added raw leather laces, some flat studs, and faux alpaca fur on the tongue and heel.

These were really fun, and I think they came out great.

“Candy Skull” Vans Milton Hi

A third pair for a repeat customer who usually gets things done for her son. She sent me a few images of the inspiration she had mind, and I took that sugar skull theme and went for a traditional-ish color scheme.

They’re a mix of both watercolor and acrylic; the watercolors painted to emulate airbrushing.

Really satisfied with how these turned out.

“Hypr Floral 2.0″ Vans Authentic Custom

These are a different take on the original Hypr Floral design I did some time ago, this time with a different, more detailed floral pattern.

These were done for a Sentara Children’s Hospital charity auction along with a set of “Palm Sunset” authentics.

“Mr. and Mrs.” Dunk High Custom Set

My final pairs of customs for a while, these are made for a 10 year anniversary. The client wanted their last name, along with the year they were married on the rear, to go along with shirts they had made.

Instead of a simple black and white theme, I threw a dark grey on the middle and rear sections of the shoe as well. The toe box and swooshes on both pairs are a white ostrich leather. 

I think they look amazing.

“Rocket Girl” Dunk High Custom

My second personal pair of the year. These are an update to my ‘09 NIke iD, and I wanted to keep the colorway nearly the same.

The left shoe has a 60′s retro-futuristic rocket girl on the heel, and the right has a classic comic inspired font. The only other detailing is old school flames in a french blue on the upper heel of the shoe.

“Cherry Blossom” Roshe Run KJCRD Custom

The client wanted a pair of Roshes with cherry blossoms on the branches that were predominately white. I used three different sizes of cherry blossoms, at their different budding stages, and included leaves on the branches throughout.

My only issue with these was that they were like painting a sweater; too many Roshe variations out there.

“Showa Gigan” Dunk High Custom

Finally finished these, and the pictures don’t do them justice; they’re actually turquoise. 

Inspired by Gigan’s first appearance in Godzilla v Gigan, these have metallic gold mid-panels and metallic silver on the rear. His name appears in both Japanese and English, and behind that there’s some scenery from the movie.

“Storm” Air Jordan 1 Custom

These are for the same client as the “What The” Vans I did a few months ago. They wanted to incorporate purples and blues as well as lightning, then throw in some personalization on the rear of the shoe.

The base is matte black, with a glossy black swoosh and strap detail. The lightning and storm sections are different for each section of both shoes.

“Ukiyo-E” Vans Sk8 Hi Custom

These are done with a mix of watercolors and acrylics, and feature a red base with cherry blossom branches. 

The left shoe features a woman with a kimono draped down her back which continues into a mountain range on the inside.

The right shoe has a dragon flying through the clouds and continues into a sunrise with birds on a barren tree.

“What The” Vans Authentic Custom

The client wanted something inspired by a pair of “What The” shoes he saw, so we have these: What The Vans. These have different floral, galaxy, camouflage, and animal prints on each shoe.

“Fiore” Dunk High Custom

First personal pair of 2015.I wanted something simple, and wearable; these are the final product.

They feature an all over, red-on-red floral print on the strap.

“Nataku EW Battle Scarred (Refined)” Dunk High

A cleaner version of the original Nataku Dunk High, the main difference being a different base pair; other than that all of the lines and typography has been cleaned up and made nearly perfect.

“Tuxedo” Pro-Ked Custom

First of the year, going out to a swing dancer in Texas; these were his “fancy dancing shoes.” 

The colors go from black on the rear of the shoe, to a dark grey on the front. The toebox features a classic tuxedo design, with red bowties; there are also music scales with gold notes.

“Orange Lantern” Dunk High Custom

Final private order of 2014: Orange Lantern Dunk High. The shoe has an all over “mine” text, representative of the Orange Lantern Corps; and it also their symbol in a glossy black on the outer mid panels.

“Iron Man” Air Force 1 Mid

These are inspired by the MCU version of Iron Man, and have contrasting armor details all over. The swooshes are glow in the dark, and the arc reactors on the outer sections glow as well. They also have custom insoles with Stark’s faceplate and mini reactors on them. Finally, the laces are black rope, with gold metal tips.
