just saw someone say to “stop complaining and saying the ant man movies are underrated when they made hundreds of millions of dollars”

the ant man movies ARE underrated

yeah they made money because they’re marvel movies but have you ever looked at them compared to the others?

ant man is the 5th lowest grossing marvel movie. FIFTH. out of 22.

the only movies that made less than it are incredible hulk, the first avenger, and thor, aka 3 of the first marvel movies. there’s no reason a phase 2 movie (introducing a new character) should be grossing the same as phase 1

even ant man and the wasp, a sequel (which notoriously do better than the originals in the mcu), is the 7th lowest. it only outranks those 5 and iron man. a phase 3 movie. earning less than all of phase 2. and even part of phase 1

I know so many people that haven’t seen them even within the fandom. they just skipped over them because they think ant man is “lame” cuz “all he does is shrink”. one of my friends only watched the ant man movies right before endgame because they “heard he’d be important”

the ant man movies are amazing. they don’t have to be your favorite but please just at least acknowledge them. they have amazing characters that work SO well together, great family dynamics, villains with actual motivation, a lead female hero (first title female lead), are incredibly funny, and just so so sO GOOD! please respect The Ant Fam™️
