Alone in the Dark
There's only so long one can wander alone and in the dark.
To long for light with all your might yet never see a spark.
And as you walk down paths unseen it is easy to feel lost.
Beg and barter for salvation no matter what the cost. Chasing through the shadows after sights and sounds not there. Rant and rave and curse your fate while heading towards nowhere.
Then hear a voice unlike the ones that stalk you in your sleep. A voice that cuts through silence with no need for counting sheep.
What joy to find you're not alone, another wanders here.
Follow toward the siren call until the voice is near.
Another soul who braved the dark, and now you both are found.
The dark feels brighter than the day whenever they're around.
