Tips for Gaining Absolute Power at Home!

1. Force! Force is vital to take power. I became head of the rebel Nationalist government until we eventually won the war and executed my dissenters. A secret police force is also useful in identifying problematic citizens.

2. Indoctrination! Ignorance is bliss... Country wide bliss.

3. Scapegoating! Personally, I used non-Catholic religions, but blaming any group will work- especially minorities.

4. Vision! Have a belief your people can rally behind. I led the Spanish Nationalist Party- supporting the ideas of traditional Catholicism and nationalism.

5. Give the People a “Voice”! To discourage discontent, appear to give the people a choice in leadership while actually keeping total control. I did not need this during my rule, as the other tips worked fine in Spain.

You Know Who You Are

Why won’t you let me join your political alliance? My conditions are too high?? You were more than happy to support me during the Civil War. I thought we were like-minded, that you understood me. Hideki and Mussolini are good enough for you, but I guess I wasn’t. You just want to be neutral countries with benefits.  Maybe you’re just using me to win the war, but if I send you troops and open my ports will you renegotiate your feelings for me?
