I have this headcannon when watching Criminal Minds that whatever it is the unsub is doing the moment we see their face for the first time is the reason for their downfall.
This is especially the case for earlier seasons where most of the episode is left for us to guess at who's doing it. But also, in episodes where we see the unsubs face from the start, it just means that they were that much more stupid/sloppy to begin with and that there's nothing they could have done to avoid the BAU.
Of all the things Katniss could have compared Peeta to and she chose to imagine him as light.
I like how the first half of the Mockingjay is 17 year old Katniss being a psych patient, and then the second half is dedicated to answering the question "What if we give her a gun?"

It's the way Shane showed just the slightest hint that he wasn't attracted to Rose and her first thought was, "Well clearly I'm not the issue here"

Like yeah, sure girl, it's a "strat". That's so what everyone else is thinking about too. It couldn't possibly be genuine because as we all know emotions are only ever noticeable when they're so extreme that they're forced out of you.
