Even if it’s not super obvious or like for like, it’s so well thought through and means rewatching every episode is such a joy and excitement when things connect.

I think the thing about the size difference was to emphasise how it suddenly matters to Stolas.

Hear me out.

Before, he didn't really care, because they were never on even footing anyway. Blitz could make up for it in all his amazing ways, blah blah blah, and he didn't realise.

But now? They're on even footing. Stolas might be even lower. He's suddenly noticing how he's so unaccustomed to Blitz's lifestyle. And how Blitz probably felt like that.

The banging his head on the doorway. The not liking the food. Not understanding Sinsmas.

Everything that made Stolas realise how differently Blitz lived.

And Blitz is adaptable. He's chill, with it all. Stealing, killing the rats, etc etc. He can deal with it.

Stolas seeing how Blitz adapts and figures out how to make it work when they dance, it makes him realise he doesn't have those skills. He's never needed those skills.

He's never needed to care about their height difference.

And now he does.

Blitz not letting himself fully fall in love with stolas cause he knows he’s the (indirect) reason he lost his daughter. And as someone who blames himself for destroying his own family he feels like he’s being selfish for wanting stolas to stay around.

I literally have SO MANY THOUGHTS about the new episode but the thing that I cannot get over is how both Blitz and Stolas even mask in their voices?? Blitz has that loud, brash, grainy voice he uses, Stolas with his fake high-pitched happy voice with uncertainty and politeness. But in the last scene where they're talking and dancing, neither are using their "fake" voices. Both of them sound deeper, more measured. A HUGE difference especially in Stolas's voice once devoid of all the airs he used to put on to be extra polite and seem "fine" for everyone around him. The real Stolas isn't that happy-go-lucky over-the-top bird who would call Blitz, the real Stolas can go low in his emotions, really low, and even then, Blitz is there for him. Blitz is still cracking jokes, but not too loud, not too brash. He's sensitive and he's been hurt, too. We see him open up with Stolas in a way we've never seen him do with anyone else. He's not the "bulletproof" superhero Stolas always imagined him to be.

Even in the voice acting, the masks are finally off, they finally know the real versions of each other. And they love those versions, too.
