I do think that Jax is a trans character ( even tho I don't really have any idea of which flavour of trans he us) ) but one thing that really worries me is the reaction of people seeing a trans character being constantly mean and bullying the other female characters ( and this counts for both transfem and trans masc) or maybe I'm just crazy, but idk I'm quite worried about that

that's a valid thing to be worried about but personally i enjoy it simply because i like characters who suck and i love characters who are trans and if you give me a character who sucks really bad who would be saved by transitioning i go YAYAYAYAYAYY

on a serious note though as much as it can be worrisome (esp with something that's soooo popular esp with younger people) i am always for showing more raw depictions of queerness and not sanitizing it for a cis/het audience. i think if jax truly is trans (either way) him having an internalized hatred of femininity and also taking it out on other people is something that is very complex but also very real. (and considering gooseworx is a trans woman i trust it'd be handled well) i think it IS important to keep in mind what a general audience will take away from things like this but also i think trans people should be able to make stories about trans characters being messy and mean and selfish etc etc.

i wouldn't worry about it too much tho cause to be frank that kind of thing is gonna happen either way 🤷‍♂️

one aspect of c!clingyduo i've always loved - tommy not wanting to grow up vs tubbo growing up too fast. it's not something that's really ever mentioned explicitly (as far as i can recall) but it permeates a lot of their relationship

tubbo is forced into the role of president, a job meant for an adult, and has to quickly adapt to having so much responsibility and try to be taken seriously. he gives tommy a role in his cabinet, but tommy doesnt rlly take it seriously and continues to just be his usual self - which leads to george's house burning down. and of course dream's manipulation played a large role in tubbo deciding to exile tommy, but it also came from that new sense of responsibility. tubbo is angry and annoyed by the fact that tommy doesn't understand the new situation they're in. that he's still acting like a child and not thinking about how his actions reflect on the nation, when that's ALL tubbo can think about anymore. it's like when your friend starts talking too loud in class and ends up getting you both in trouble. and of course NEITHER OF THEM should have to take on so much responsibility as teenagers but that's the situation they were in and tubbo is doing the best he can with the hand he's been dealt

another very obvious example of this is when tommy is revived and comes back to find out that beeduo are married now. his jealousy and dislike towards the situation mainly stems from the fact that the world has continued moving without him. but this ties in with this idea of tommy not wanting to grow up - that too stems from this fear of change. i think it freaked him out to find that tubbo, who's only a year older than him, now has a Husband and Child. it's like tubbo's suddenly become an adult when he wasn't looking, and what does that mean for him? he doesn't feel like an adult. for all his jokes about being a Big Man, he still feels like a kid. he LIKES being a kid. he doesn't want to let go of that yet, but tubbo having done so makes him feel like he's being left behind.

and of course these concepts aren't mutually exclusive - tommy still experienced things that he shouldn't have had to as a teenager too (war, abuse, etc.) but i think his response to those things is to escape into childhood comforts and not really think about it, while tubbo is the one who "accepted" growing up too quickly and changed as a result. (i think that's a big part in why he got married at 17, because he thinks of himself as an adult. so he didnt see anything weird about it)

i've made at least one piece of fanart specifically about this but it's present in basically all my art via my designs - tubbo's appearance changes DRASTICALLY from how he looked at the beginning of the server and his outfits change alongside him. while tommy barely changes; he wears the same shirt he wore as a kid basically the entire time, still clinging to a time that's never coming back.

What do you think cbench would do for Christmas? Do you think they comemore it? Do you think they ignore it? Do you think they stay silent about it but when it's midnight they say " happy Christmas" and leave faint smiles on each others faces

im pretty sure they'd celebrate christmas since they did during the new l'manberg era! i'd imagine tubbo is more ambivalent about it (he likes christmas but he's not going crazy for it or anything), ranboo is sort of an average amount of festive, and then tommy is very excited and forcing them to participate in festivities. (his child-like whimsey never dies no matter how old he gets)

i think tommy has a genuine love for christmas time, but i think a big part of why he goes so hard on the Jolliness is because it's also of course the time of year that he was in exile during. november is a hard month for many people on the server, but december is really rough for tommy specifically. he hates that a time that's meant to be full of happiness has been tainted for him by dream, so he really tries to throw himself into christmas festivities to drown out the negative feelings. which is why even if tubbo or ranboo might sometimes get annoyed by his antics, they let him do as much aggressive merrymaking as he wants :)

i think they're all people who are better at showing their emotions through actions (ranboo to a lesser extent, but still somewhat) so gift-giving is probably something they all put effort into. i'd imagine that part's usually pretty lowkey though, they probably each just focus on getting each other one very personal gift rather than multiple smaller/more generic ones. ranboo has like 7 pairs of socks that tommy's knitted for him because whenever tommy asks what they want they can't think of anything. so tommy just knits them more socks. tubbo likes making little redstone contraptions for them, like music boxes or baking timers. ranboo made tommy a handmade cow plushie once which came out pretty scuffed cause that's more tommy's thing. tommy went "he's kinda ugly" and ranboo was like "sorry, i tried my best. you dont have to take it if you dont want it" and tommy was like "wot no im gonna sleep with him every night are you stupid" and sure enough he did

now when it comes to michael (and later honey) they're definitely spoiled rotten lol. the limited gift-giving does not apply to them. those kids' parents are rich they're getting piles of presents every year LOL
