You know the way the fandom talks about each Avatar is exactly how their world viewed them? Every Avatar was loved and hated in equal measure by the people they protected for whatever reason. Yangchen neglected the spirits so long that Kuruk could only fail in the public’s eyes. He had to fight elsewhere. Kyoshi kept to herself hidden away so long that Roku had to fight against his people which he didn’t which was his biggest regret. They all have their problems. They’re the closest their world has to a god, but they’re still human. It’s why they had companions. Yes, you can bend the elements but you can’t be everywhere. Aang got incredibly lucky in the sense that he found a family at all during everything and that family would die and kill for him. Not only that, a family that was strong enough to fight along side him. He didn’t need to protect them. They could protect themselves, and he knew it. He trusted them. Aang didn’t have to fight with his eyes flying everywhere. His faith in other people was his greatest strength

Still irrevocably mad that the show about love decided the never ending familial love of one of the characters wasn't enough and he needed to be in a romantic relationship for it to count. He broke the laws of space and time for them but he didn't kiss a girl so he must be incapable of loving anything!!!

I know the real reason is that the writers don't want to add extra characters who have nothing to do with the plot, but it always bugs me when I'm watching a TV show and nobody seems to have any friends or extended family. The Sopranos is one of the few shows that gives everyone a realistic social network--and if a character doesn't have friends (like Adriana), it's an intentional choice to show how isolated they are.

but also sloane vs five is funny to me because five genuinely does seem to like sloane as a person. shes extremely intelligent and scientific and theyre both space equivalent ability users. and also i do think she would give him a run for his money

i hc five to have reading glasses because i think its funny. he CAN read without them but if hes doing so for long periods of time he wears them. his family gives him crazy amounts of shit for it
