New series inspired by the concept of space and humans behaviour within it…

I’ve been working on this concept for a while, the idea of filling up space. It seems, humans, we have this capacity to just fill up space, the wold, our lives with absolutely anything which will fit, as long as there is a small conviction somewhere in our minds that its either useful, or beautiful, no matter what or how, it gets done. Cities and urban spaces for one. Not one corner left free, even the parks…nothing is left alone, every square inch has been filled, or is in the process of being filled.
Sometimes, I find that I also do this, in my life. I fill my day full to the brim with things, be it social media, skateboarding, socialising with friends, watching series, or work, exercise, whatever it is… I reach the end of the day shattered, and feeling unfulfilled all the same. I found myself reflecting this state into art form almost by mistake, just doodling, and only after coming back to it some time later, making sense of it. How it was a clear reflection of my life. Does it have a meaning? A purpose? Applied to my life, I often am left without the answer to those questions. However applied to these pieces, yes they certainly do! They NOW have become art! Inspired by the concept of “Space” and humans behaviour within it. This process has helped me to realise that I should leave space in my life, in my day to day, in my home, in my world. Leave free time, free space, unscheduled, unplanned free space… because filling up space isn’t all that fulfilling.
