Gideon G. Prewett

Hello and welcome! I am Gideon Prewett, a 6th year Ravenclaw here at Hogwarts. I am the twin brother of Fabian Prewett and younger brother of Molly Prewett. Watch out, this wizard is up to no good.

I tend to not often listen to these so called rules, they interfere with my other plans.

[feigns a frustrated sigh] One second I think I know you and the next I don’t. [smiles} Well that’s just too bad, ‘cause that’s my name, you know.

[laughs and grins] What can I say? I'm complicated. Maybe consider a new name?

It’s a good thing I have friends in such high places. [laughs] Thank you for that. We were ‘fun’ with matters involving you.

You are correct in that statement, I live for fun and excitement. How else am I supposed to keep people happy?

And of course you were wrong; why am I not surprised?

At least I don't mind admitting when I'm in the wrong.

You can respect me by obeying bedtime rules for the first week, please! The first week is always so busy. [laughs] Yes, you always entertain the first years, giving them the impression that we’re the fun house.

You have one week, then this deal is over. Only because we're friends, though. And are we not the fun house? Because I was always under the impression that we were.

OK, calm down with the wand waving, you’re going to take someone’s eye out. And for the last time, it’s Emmeline. Emmeline. E-M-M-E-L-I-N-E.

You’re a special child Gideon. Don’t ever lose it.

I didn't realise there was a rule against taking people's eyes out. Emmeline is so long, I don't have time to say it all.

I don't plan on it, one needs a good sense of humour in these times.

Ah, like I said before. Keep telling yourself that. [she grins] Well.. maybe just a tiny tiiiiiiny bit.. 

Oof nuh-uh. I disagree. You, on the other hand, are a sixth year and still entertained by those sort of pranks? Now that, is weird.

I'll miss you too, Em. 

And at what point did I ever mention that I was even the slightest bit normal?

Gideon Prewett! [she teased] You’d think one has some respect for me. I’m pulling rank over you. I’m a seventh year and a Prefect, even though I’m shorter than you! 

[gidgprewett]

I have plenty of respect for you, I just know when to have fun as well. My sister is a seventh year, are you unaware of how much I tease her? Years have no impact on my respect.

Yes keep telling that to yourself. 

Nothing wrong with the first two. The third’s a bit more tricky. [shrugs] My family is realizing that I’m not such a huge weirdo as thought previously, but it’s taking a while. I’m sure the Prewett family vacations are tons more exciting.

You're going to miss me next year, your life will be empty without me.

No, no, you are a pretty huge weirdo, they had that right. Oh, yes! They certainly are. Fab and I get bored and resort to even more childish pranks than usual.

True that. 

Ha! Well some people do tell me I’m quite slow at some things. [lost in thought for a while] Six years.. that’s ages. You were shorter than me back then, I remember.

Quite slow? They're being kind when they say that. [he laughed, watching her get lost in her own world] I was shorter than you two years ago, then you just stopped growing.

What’s giving you the most problems? It’s Ancient Runes, for me.

Will do, I shouldn't need too much help.

Potions, but I feel that's more to do with Slughorn's distaste for me.

If I remember correctly.. She said something along the lines of both of you gave her a hard time over the whole of the holidays? It must have been a blast. [chuckles and hands him some] 3 wands for the price of 1 frog. Deal?

It was not a hard time, we played a few harmless pranks that she wasn't too keen on. And it was so much fun. [he takes the sweets and hands over a frog] Deal. But I want the card if I don't already have it.

Well mine was great. Mary and I went to France with my family and then I hung out between everyone’s family.

That does sound pretty great. Mine included a lot of camping and hanging round the seaside, mostly annoying the crap out of Molls, but she loved it. Secretly.

Oh certainly. But what is defined as ‘worthwhile’ is still a work-in-progress.

Good thing you do. At least I can say that I have a friend. [she punches him lightly in the arm]

It'll come to you, you have a whole year to figure it out.

[he shoves her playfully] Oh, look, after six years you've figured that out, congratulations.

Ahhh hahahaha! That is a joke right? That’s a joke. Yep.

Oh, yes I guess when you look at it like that it sounds thrilling. But not to Belfast, Ireland, Vance residence. [chuckles quietly]

Rude. You guys love having me around.

And what exactly is wrong with Belfast, Ireland, Vance residence? Is it the one particular bit about the Vance residence or is everything just 'fine'.

That’s the part I have to figure out. 

[she rolled her eyes at herself] The first week hasn’t even ended and I’m already being pessimistic. Gah. Ignore me, Gideon.

You get to be free of this place, get out into the world and do something worthwhile, that's figured out enough surely?

[he gave her a small but supportive smile] I tend to always ignore your pessimism.
