So i just got this message when i attempted to update my voter registration. This is a lie. I became a naturalized citizen in 2005. Drove all the way to Memphis Tennessee for the ceremony. I have voted in 2 elections; i have an American passport I’ve traveled with, and i have gone to the Department of safety and homeland security to update all information, last time i did was 2 years ago when i needed a copy of my social security card. Folks, this is Not a drill!! Check your statuses. *update 2* Still trying to find answers. The wait time is 57 minutes. The office closed in 17 minutes. I will try again on Monday. Until then, i am taking my passport with me Everywhere!! EVERYWHERE!!!

I’ve seen the finale. I can see why you would feel that way, and I think that the best course of action would to tweet Emily about it. Say “hey, maybe this isn’t what you meant, but it can come off this way especially to a trans person.” 

It’s really. really hard to write unproblematic things all the time - and while I am not trying to excuse a line that can to someone who feel directly targeted be harmful - I also know as a writer that there will always be someone out there that takes exception with something I think is fine. And that’s because that person has a different background than me, or different experiences. But until you let the writer know, said writer can’t improve. 

I also think that canon Jeremy while wigged out by the idea of a vagina, is smart enough and caring enough to understand that a trans man is still a man, if he was to interact with one. Just because he feels a certain way now doesn’t mean he hasn’t room for growth. 

Personally I just took the joke as a joke, but that’s because I don’t have your context and your experiences. But it is certainly fair for you to take exception, and again I would let the writers know as you can do so anonymously on the internet. I find it is a fair point you raise and that perhaps if they are made aware of it they won’t write the same type of joke again, or frame it differently, or make him say something. Actually later on in the episode, when he says he feels Doc isn’t dead in his crotch and Wynonna replies “just for that I get to say vagina again” I think he looks a bit abashed while in the background. And even before, Wynonna is definitely done with him being squeaked out from one word. When they are sitting on the porch and she says the baby is coming, Jeremy makes a face and she reinstates “yes, Jeremy. Out of my vagina.” 

At least one character on the show is done with that sort of bullshit.
