a good description of my state of being these last 12 hours. one of those hole in the sky deaths that knocks you down.
nothing done today.
The last picture taken Of David Bowie by his wife Iman, on his birthday, January 8th 2016.
reblogging just to keep it.
He has traveled so far, from near-fatal abuse to here, invisible among Maineâs poorest, in the care of grandparents who have little left to give but love - and just enough of that. Yet somehow Strider is climbing. How high? How far?
Iâve been so absent here for so long that perhaps no one will see this; but Sarah Schweitzerâs profile of a 6 year old boy who has already gone through more than anyone should endure in a lifetime is a piece of extraordinary writing - Jessica Rinaldiâs accompanying photographs as masterful, and as heartbreaking. Hopefully some kind of fundraising for Strider (and his brother Gallagher) will result, though I havenât found anything yet. If you happen to spot this post and are aware of an effort being organised to benefit them, please let me know. Itâs impossible to read this and not want to help.

itâs been a happy day.Â
IMMIGRATION OFFICER FATALLY SHOOTS UNARMED 19 YR OLD BLACK MAN 10 TIMES DURING BALTIMORE RIOTS.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer shot and killed 20-year-old Terrence Kellum, Monday afternoon on Detroitâs northwest side.
Police say the agent â part of a fugitive task force involving ICE and officers with the Detroit Police Department â was attempting to serve an armed robbery warrant at a home in the 9500 block of Evergreen near W. Chicago when the shooting occurred.
âI am told there was no forced entry into the residence, that they were allowed inside,â said Detroit Police Chief James Craig. âAnd Iâm also told that the agent may have been faced with a threat, and it was at that point when he decided to use deadly force.â Craig would not talk more specifically about that alleged threat.
One of the eyewitnesses, a woman, shouted at the chief as she described what she claims happened. âIt was 10 bulletsâŠand did it take 10 bullets? When he came out, they didnât have the handcuffs on him!â she said. âThey shot him! He was not able to run to do nothinâ. Yâall didnât give him a chance!â
An Investigation has been promised but we all know how that goesâŠ.

so i press a key and reblog this like thousands of others, itâs so useless, even cowardly, i just donât know what to do, i just donât know how i could have believed this wasnât happening every day ever day every day. Every. Day.
All Tomorrowâs Boxers :P  So so happy. The intimacy of his voice on Interference, the golden sensuality of a brain in a bottle, just spilling over.
So sick of snow, it's like a curse; but Seuss reminds me, could be worse.
exquisite vases by lino tagliapietra. no photo can capture what light does when moving through these pieces - and they're huge! four feet tall or so.Â
recently i got to see some beautiful glass pieces by lino tagliapietra at the schantz gallery. it was moving to stand inches away from so much vulnerable beauty, something that took such dedication to create, that could so easily be shattered. Â
a collage of some of my books before boxing. shelves went into the trash, books into storage. fighting visions of storage place flooding or burning or swarming with locusts.Â
if i hadn't moved my life could well have looked like this. perhaps not so bad in retrospect.
it is beautiful here. but i miss brooklyn.
