8-year-old Gil and Tarvek (and also Zoing) from my Girl Genius AU in which they do not have the friendship break-up (and subsequently other things happen).

In this universe they make Zoing together and get to be precocious young Sparks together. They are best friends.

Anyway I call it the GilTarvek no divorce AU.

I had to make a reddit account finally so of course my first action was to open the gg subreddit and follow it. The newest post is about someone finding what is likely a jagermeister/monster energy concoction at a finnish music festival. I made a noise that could probably be described as a squawk

Well, Klaus now has indisputable proof that:

Tarvek DOESN'T share his late, unlamented father's allegiance to Lucrezia

Agatha is NOT a copy of the Other (though she was in the past)

Gil is NOT wasped

Lucrezia's monologuing is very helpful, actually. It'll help to clear the air before the gang pin Klaus down long enough to have a heart to heart.

I wouldn't call that indisputable, or proof, or even evidence. He knows she knows he's listening - she's literally talking to him. This is exactly what she would be doing if she had a mole and wanted to preserve its cover.

I'm starting to believe that "unwillingly sent through a Mirror" is in fact a qualifying event to marry (or otherwise be involved with) a royal of Skifander.

Klaus was pushed through a Mirror -> married Zantabraxus

Higgs traveled through by accident -> seriously involved with Zeetha

Agatha was dragged through a Mirror -> seriously involved with Gil

This is a 3 out of 3 correlation here. It may indeed be a scientific law.

In the Future (very soon in the future), things have calmed down enough in Mechanicsburg for Agatha to repair the Mirror under the Red Cathedral and open it to Skifander.

Zeetha: "WAIT! First - hey, Violetta, grab Tarvek for me real quick."

Tarvek: "What wait nO WHAT WHY ME AAAAAAAAAAA --" (is totally fine on the other side of the portal) "WHY."

Zeetha: "You'll thank me later!" :D :D :D

Later In the Future, at an OT3 wedding at which absolutely nothing has gone to plan, ever:

Krosp, officiating: "BY THE POWER INVESTED IN ME BY THE GREAT GODDESS BASTET AND THE INHERENT AWESOMENESS OF CATS, does anyone ELSE have an objection they'd like to make?! One that can't be solved by a death ray! Or forever hold your peace already."

(there have been multiple objections solved by death rays)

Particularly suicidal priestess of Ashtara, who was not actually invited: "YES! STOP! Only people who have passed unwillingly through a Queen's Mirror may wed the royal line of Skifander!"

Agatha: "Ah - well, actually - "

Tarvek: "Oh for FU- waaaaaaaaait a second."

Gil: "...thank you Zeetha."

Krosp: "I HATE ALL OF YOU. You're married or whatever. Get me out of here."

you know, i really don't think they were on such bad terms in paris. they get in synch rather fast in the castle and look at that. waiting for colette to break through? this is something they shared and they knew it

now they weren't in good terms either, but i think a slightly more distrustful version of their earliest castle dynamic ? with a tons of misunderstanding about what the other is up to that never get resolver either

i'm thinking that some people have miscalculated here

i mean if the plan is Oh! gil is away from agatha ! perfect time for him to get interested in someone else !

then they should have made sure tarvek is not around either; at the very least he's the chief contender to get his attention if agatha's not around.

...even when she's around even :D

yeah so since i just finished rereading it in order it's time for my favorite past-time, known as 'what's the most disordered way i can reread it'

anyway here have agatha. with tarvek and his most known sentence.

also this :

i love that he starts at absolute trust in gil's ability and then ends at the realization it relies on gil's trust in him. surprised he doesn't go "we're doomed"

oh yes and this :

makes me want to reread the entire comic again just to track how often and in which circumstances tarvek uses 'gil' instead of 'wulfenbach' (much more likely when gil's not here i think) and when if ever gil uses 'tarvek'

like somehow i missed it during the reread i just finished
