Whenever Tails is working on an invention or repairing something, I like to imagine that he then gets hyper-focussed on it. Everything else gets drowned out in the background and he doesn't notice any other sound than his work. When someone enters his workshop they have to try and get his attention without jump scaring him. With a lot of mixed results. He tends to scream in a high pitch. Sometimes he even falls out of his chair completely startled. In the worst case scenario his immediate instinct is to throw whatever he's holding in his hand, for example like a pencil, screwdriver or a wrench at the ‘perpetrator’. Though throwing only ever happens with Sonic, his quick arrival triggers it. Not that it stops Sonic from barging in and startling the poor fox, he thinks it's funny.

Okay so, I have a very specific headcannon (shocker). In Sonic Frontiers you have a small cutscene after collecting a Chaos Emerald where Sonic does a dance and then the Chaos Emerald pops up in his hand. I've been thinking that he does vanishing tricks like that from time to time. Especially for Tails. Tails acts like he isn't impressed, but every time Sonic does it he asks how its possible and his tails betray him by wagging in excitement of seeing the trick. I also have a scene in my head where Sonic does this during Sonic Generations in front of Classic Tails. Classic Tails would not hide his curiousity and his amusement. And then Modern Tails would stand there trying to act nonchalant about it. But like always he is also equally as impressed and tries to figure out the secret to Sonics tricks.

It'd be pretty funny if Tails doesn't realize his name is a pun. And then one day when Sonic and Tails are talking, their discussion shifts randomly on Sonic's name:

"Surely your name can't always have been Sonic, right? I mean, it would be a wild coincidence that you'd be named after speed before you could've even walked!"

"Psh, I always was the essence of speed lil bro, it's easy to tell. Even back then. 'Sides, you aren't that much different, mister Miles Prower."

"...What do you mean? What about my name?"

"You know, Miles Prower? Like, as in Miles Per Hour? Don' tell me ya didn't know?!"

DID YOU GUYS HEAR THAT?!? THE WAY SONIC'S VOICE LITERALLY WAIVERED OMG HE LOVES TAILS SO MUCH 😭😭😭

I just feel like we don't get to see Sonic display a lot of vulnerability most of the time, so for him to show it here with Tails (especially in a comedy show like Boom) is VERY special to me.

It's not just in that scene, either! The episode overall is peak unbreakable bond. Sonic's concern is the very thing that drives the plot as he tries to find a new sidekick, wHICH HE'S ONLY DOING BECAUSE TAILS GOT HURT AND IT SCARED HIM!!

Just look at his face. You can almost feel his heart stop from the other side of the screen. 😭

Aaand it starts again when he realizes Tails is alive. Pure relief.

But of course, Tails has Sonic's fighting spirit. He shows up despite the danger because he, like Sonic, would never just leave the other out to dry when they needed help. And he DOES help Sonic in this ep when he saves him from drowning!

And then. They do. The THING ™!

This episode is so heartwarming, and I rarely see anyone talking about it. It's the first episode and it does such a great job of showing Sonic and Tails' dynamic and why their team is unreplaceable. It's almost like they're some kind of-

Each of those naps is in fact a power nap of only a few minutes cause that's all the time Sonic gets before something happens.

He's trying to chill but Bokkun has a TV message for him.

His friends decide a cruise ship is a great idea, and we all remember Sonic losing his morals in that episode.

If Tails ever needed to wear glasses, I think he'd hesitate. He used to get bullied for his two tails and for tinkering with tech. So imagine adding glasses on top of those reasons for bullies to target him (it is a cliché, though it's still a thing). Even if he hasn't been bullied since he met Sonic and the rest of his friends.

After spending so much time being his Miles Electric and many other screens, he does end up becoming farsighted. And after swallowing his fears he buys a pair of glasses. However, he does not directly put them on, ever. He only has them on hand when he really needs them, and then he holds the glasses with one or both of his hands in front of him and looks through the lenses that way. They never go on or touch his face, he just moves the lenses over whatever he needs to read.

In fact, it is Sonic who wears Tails' glasses the most... because he puts them on to try and make Tails feel better about them. Or as a little joke.
