LIFE SKILLS
When I was in elementary/middle school, we had to learn cursive. It was a necessary life skill to help one communicate in writing more quickly and efficiently. Now, they don't teach cursive as almost all written communcation is done digitally. Why then, are kids not required to learn keyboarding (typing)? You should absolutely be able to type at least 45 wpm, and in the workplace today, even that's slow. We're not teaching our children life skills at all in school anymore, all they are being taught is how to test well.
