"Just donât tell Rahleigh.â
"I read, you were the iconic survivor⌠but hey you rose above it and avenged your family, and in the end thatâs what matters." he nods. "It doesnât bring them back, but damn if it ainât cathartic." At her words about Raleigh he laughs a bit. "So give him a hard time while complementing him then?" he grins at her.
"The poster child for what happened to Tokyo. It's not like I didn't have some help." The Marshall, Tasmin, Raileigh..."Can't argue with that. Doesn't make it right though, it isn't the sort of thing that can be made right but...it definitely helps." She grinned, nodding. "Yep--but if he asks, I didn't say a thing."Â

'Senpai.'
"Oh. Hey, Mako." She greeted with a slight wave of her hand. If there was anyone she looked up to the most here, it was Mako.
"Good morning." The woman replied with a slight smile. "It's...Shiro, isn't it?" With so many people coming in and out of the base lately, keeping track of names was getting...trickier.
Jazmine decided to leave the part where she had a poster of Gipsy Dangerâs two pilots in her room back home out. Suck her in with the wide smile and curly hair, leave the weird stuff for last. âOf course you are. Cool hair and all that. You know, my friends back home are trying to get the âMako Mori lookâ but they keep getting the blue wrong.â she admitted with a soft laugh. It was amusing to see them try and fail.
"Has Raleigh mention me before?" The question was out before she could stop it and she had to keep her smile on, just to lightened a sentence that could be taken as something too personal. It didnât matter, really, but she was still curious.Â
Mako couldn't quite suppress a giggle at that--how ridiculous, how silly, people trying to be like her--especially something so silly as the streaks she'd put in her hair. "Well since I had to dye it myself bent over a sink, I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to do."
Uh oh. It wasn't that she minded answering the question--not at all. Jazmine seemed nice, and it was innocent enough--it was just rather difficult to explain. "Not quite. Well...I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'mention'."
"Were I a civilian, maybe⌠but I can believe it. I know that Trespasser left a lot of orphans and broken families." he looks down. "My family and I were just on vacation when it happened." Dean lets out a chuckle laden with bitter irony. "If weâd just gone to Disney World down in Orlando like Sammy wanted to⌠things would be different, hell if weâd just stayed in Kansas." he then clears his throat. "Well I mean, how could I not be? You and your co-pilot are kinda living legends now with what you did." he smirks.
Mako stayed quiet for a moment, almost mirroring his expression. "It was called Onibaba. My father was sick, really sick so we went to Tokyo so he could get treatment and...well. I don't know if not being the only one makes it easier or worse." Casting her eyes down, with a meek smile on her lips. "Well don't tell Raileigh that, he'll just get a big head."
"Iâve noticed that, I kinda grew up around this sort of life, my dad was a marine and well, after my mother got killed during Tresspassorâs attack⌠my dad became kindaâŚÂ obsessed if you will with killing these things.â he sighs. He then reaches over to take her hand, giving it a firm shake. âIt is a bit of an honor to meet you by the way Miss Mori.â he smiles.
"You'd be surprised how many people around here were brought up the same way, already neck deep in it before any of them got near a jaeger. My condolences for your mother though." She laughed softly. "Mako, please. Is it? I can't fathom why it would be. I'm just...me."
"Well if it makes you feel any better they didnât really feel like I needed to know till like two days before I hopped on a plane here." he smirks. "Just handed me my papers and sent me on my way." he pauses. "Please, call me Dean. Mister Winchester was my father."
"Such is life with the PPDC. You aren't told a thing until ten seconds after you needed to know." She smiled faintly, juggling around her keyboard to offer out her hand. "Dean suits you much better than Mister Winchester anyway."
we said together, mako!
Uh yeah, hi. Temporary transfer here to the Honk Kong Shatterdome. Former Ranger. Winchester. Youâre Mako Mori, correct?
"A transfer? It's like they're trying to keep me out of the loop. But yes, I'm Mako. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mister Winchester."

"Something I can help you with?"
"Well, they had you looking really intimidating in those posters." For popularity, she assumed. Raleigh looked like a dork, they needed someone to carry the ship to shore. "I thought youâd be all scary and stuff. Iâm glad youâre not though."
Holding back a smile, she nodded. She wanted to ask if Mako knew her from the drift, if Raleigh even thought about her, but she didnât want to put the other woman on the spot. âDonât tell Raleigh I asked for your autograph. I didnât want his, thatâs just weird.â He was her brother, first and foremost. Jaeger piloting came second.
"Oh yeah, definitely intimidating.' She nodded, scarcely containing a grin. "I promise I'm one of the least scary people around. Well, around here anyway."
"Your secret's safe with me. Besides, everyone knows I'm the more interesting of the two of us." She'd never thought to ask after Jazmine--not after learning what happened to Yancy, it was just something that had stuck in her mind after... "Just don't tell him I said so or he'll never get off my back about it."
"And exactly how?"
"Suddenly Iâm not allowed? Fine, weâll play it by your rules. And I donât know, but I doubt weâll be without job for the next twenty or so years. Too much to do."
"On what it is I'm meant to be blaming you for."
"That's...not what I meant. You just never seemed particularly interested before--it's...surprising. Decades worth of paper work, I might actually lose my mind."
Mako. Mako. Mako. Maaaakkkoooooooooooooo. *bumps her hand with his head* Maaaakkkiiiikkoooooooooooo...
"UmâŚyes, Professor Geiszler?â
"Are you alright?"
"Kindness isnât the only factor, Miss Mori!" he grinned brightly, pushing his head into her hand like a dog begging for pets. "Itâs simply truth."
Rather confused, Mako tentatively stroked his hair, assuming that's what he wanted. "I think...you're a bit too biased for it to be truth, professor."
Jazmine dug in her bag, looking for her autograph book. âYouâre nicer than I thought you would be.âÂ
A pause in her words, accompanied by an awkward shrug of the shoulder. âBecket. Jazmine Becket.â
"Am I?" Mako asked, digging through her pockets for a pen. "What did you think I'd be like?"
Promptly doing something of a double take, she fell into stunned silence for a moment. "Becket? You're..." She shut her eyes, letting out a soft laugh, shaking her head all the while. "You're Raileigh's sister."
Mako. Mako. Mako. Maaaakkkoooooooooooooo. *bumps her hand with his head* Maaaakkkiiiikkoooooooooooo...
"UmâŚyes, Professor Geiszler?â
"Are you alright?"
He leaned in, almost secretively, and whispered: âYouâre the prettiest lady around.â
"O-Oh." A tad startled, Mako's eyes immediately fell to the ground. "That's...very kind of you."
"I apologize, then. I was unaware of what desk you were at. Iâll be sure to visit you more frequently."
"So you should. For as important as I'm sure all this work is...that doesn't make it any more interesting."Â I get bored and I miss having you around.
"Oh, hey!"
"Yâknow, since you asked, I really wouldnât mind an autograph. I mean, if you want to, if not itâs totally chill. Itâs really nice meeting you, Miss Mori."
"O-Oh...um. Of course."
"It's nice to meet you too, miss...?"
