"Waiting Gradually Eats The Soul"
by A.F. Vandevorst.
Andrea Joyce Heimer (US-American, 1981) - A Bear Sighting Was The Most Coveted Sighting Of All, For Its Danger And Hulk, And For Its Rarity. One Night While We Slept In My Grandmother's Tin Can Trailer, A Bear Got Tangled In The Brush Pit For A Time And We Listened To It Grumble In The Dead Of Night. It Occurred To Me The Bear Was Having An Off Day. My Grandmother Slept With A Loaded Gun, But She Always Pointed Out It Was For The Two-Legged Animals, Not The Four-Legged Ones. I Used To Have A Dream Where Bears Clambered Through My Stables. Now, I Have Two Bears Who Come To My Yard. I Tell Them Things And They Go On Their Way, And I Go On Mine. These Are Just Some Thoughts I Have On Bears. (2026)

Imagine you are a lynx and you eat a mouse that has mostly eaten raspberries its whole life. Christ! What decadence
A SILK HERALDIC RUG, POSSIBLY KASHAN, CENTRAL PERSIA, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
Interestingly, all of the figures depicted in the present lot are two or four legged and many are with wings, apart from the closest square to the center of the design which contains the rather surprising image of a common snail. Neither winged or with legs, this small creature is neither fierce nor bold. It is the personification of patience in life and encourages one to remain calm and tolerant. [x]

This collection of nineteenth-century vaseline glass catches the light and creates a lustrous pool of yellow-greens. The effect is enhanced by the subtle arrangement of yellow-green flowers: fennel, euphorbia and lady's mantle.
