Natural hair tip wave đđŸâš
Can we leave tips for natural hair? Reblog with a tip and help others!
Never detangle when is dry and always us a wide tooth comb. Always treat your hair as if it was your baby.
Cantu shea butter is a great leave in conditioner đđŸ
Avocado oil is really good for finger detangling and moisturizing (not just your hair but scalp too) it absorbs easily, itâs not as clogging as coconut oil, and it doesnât leave a smell.
hot oil treatments!! never dry hair with a towel (use a soft t-shirt) and sleep on a silk pillow case or use a silk scarf and tie it on your pillow. cotton pillow cases absorb the natural oils in your hair and dries your hair out which can make it very frizzy. same with towels!
Yes! Hot oil treatments are amazing. Use Jamaican black castor oil for thin area đđŸ
take out twists/braids/bantu knots outs when COMPLETELY dry for best results
if your twists take too long to dry:
1.Squeeze them gentle with a COTTON TSHIRT to soak up excess product
2.Instead of wearing a scarf go to sleep on a satin pillow to allow air flow to dry them faster.
1) Eco styler is the best gel to lay down edges 2) After taking out your protective style and while your washing your hair, you will notice A LOT of shedding, itâs just the hair that wasnât able to shed freely while you had in your protective styling 3) Eco Styler+Hard Brush+Bandana+Toothbrush= fleeky edges. 1) Take a good but not odee amount of gel and put on edges 2) Brush your edges a little back and curve them a little while brushing(you can use the toothbrush for the curving part) 3) Tie bandana around edges tightly(not too tight) and push the bandana back a little and take the toothbrush and take a little of the hair and brush them in the direction of your forehead or cheeks 4) Leave the bandana on for 30+ minutes 5) Take off bandana and touch up your edges with toothbrush (this is an option not mandatory) Stretching 4b/c hair(Still works for just 4b hair type) 1) Part hair into four sections 2) Spray Hair lightly and put in your usual leave in product (ex; sheamoisture, cantu ect.) 3) Take one of the four sectioned hair and put it in a scrunchy 4) Take the hair in the scrunchy and braid it 5) Repeat this for every section of hair 6) Let hair air dry for a little bit and then wrap hair 7) For extra stretching put hair in cornrows Use Aunt Jackieâs âDonât Shrink Flaxseed Elongating Curling Gelâ for good twist outs
Really donât detangle your hair while dry. Donât. And resist the random urges to trim your ends. Using coconut oil first and then sealing with shea moisture deep conditioner keeps my hair really soft. Donât be afraid to use deep conditioners frequently or as leave in moisturizers. Be as gentle as possible when handling your curls. Wearing a satin scarf around your edge area for a while right before youâre ready to leave keeps them laid down. Donât wash your hair with shampoo too frequently. (I have type 3c curls). If you hear ripping noises, stop lmao.
Shea moisture, cantu, creme of nature raw coconut oil works wonders for dry 4a curls đđŸ
Applying your conditioner on your wet hair BEFORE detangling makes detangling so much easier. If you wash or cowash your hair in the shower and apply your conditioner in the shower, run cold water through your hair. Itâll seal all the product/moisture in your hair. Bantu Knot Tip: donât attempt it on wet hair unless you have days to let it dry. Do it on lightly damp hair. The results turn out more defined and less puffy/frizzy (especially for 4a/4b hair like mine) Trimming ends on a regular basis/schedule is NOT necessary! Trim ONLY when you see split ends, damage, single strand knots, etc. And ALWAYS USE HAIR CUTTING SCISSORS ONLY!
If any naturalistas want to take a different approach on washing your hair with shampoo, and doesnât feel all that clean with Co-washing; you can use BENTONITE CALCIUM CLAY. Itâs a natural clay. Itâs also conditions as well as cleanse the scalp and shafts. On top of that, it stimulates the scalp, so it may help with thinner areas. With time at least.. Iâve done it and once I find the time, Iâll do it on a regular basis. You can go on google and search where to buy. Another plus is that: originally itâs a face mask and you can exfoliate your skin with it as well.
Had to re-reblog for that comment ^^ Bentonite clay saves my hair on the regular
go through the notes ladiesÂ
Yaaaasss! bentonite clay works wonders. And for those dealing with psoriasis/seborrhea dermatitis on the scalp it helps. As well as using ACV rinses and mixing honey and oils I to your deep conditioner. Honey, ACV &bentonite clay all work as either anti microbial sand to remove dirt.
Also, if youâre having a flare up DO NOT oil your scalp with heavy oils. Iâve found that it inxeases itching and makes flare ups so much worse (the flakes, the irritation will make you wanna rip your hair out). Iâve been playing around with a spritz that contains: rose water, jojoba oil, tea tree oil, and a drop of Jamaican black castor oil (mixed all this with water). Sprayed it on my scalp and hair and its help reduce gah flakiness and itchiness almost immediately. I use it everyday. Try to wash your hair regularly, and water washing can be beneficial (but Iâll do it like every other week between co-washes)
Iâm currently trying to grow my edges back after a recent flare up of my dermatitis. Iâve been misting with my spritz and putting Jamaican black castor oil on my edges and Iâve seen progress and no irritation/flakes!
Also, have fun with your hair. Itâs unique and special, and itâs on your head so love it!
Thanks for this yall. I just cut off my locs and now I have 4c hair that I was never taught to manage. This is an awesome post.

If you live in an area where it gets really cold for winter and your hair gets super dry buy a steamer. I just bought a Q-Redew steamer and it helps seal in moisture very well. You can also use it to stretch hair without heat damage, not saying it will be as good as a blow out but itâll definitely stretch it out some. Itâs also good to use steam for treatments so it opens up your follicles. (Thereâs lot of videos on YouTube on how to use it and stuff) itâll probably be on sale soon for Christmas. Itâs usually 69.95.
Donât detangle your hair when it is dripping wet, or dry! They both cause breakage. Opt for detangling when damp and make sure you have a lot of slip!
when youâre protective styling (box braids, senegalese, etc) make sure youâre still moisturizing and cleansing your scalp
If you feel like your hair is constantly dry, try wetting and conditioning each day or every other day until you can retain more moisture. Remember to continue to moisturize with water based products and use heavier butters during colder months!
When you first go natural and big chop or start locs try not to let the hair models on tumblr and in hair mags make you feel some type of way that your hair is short. A lot of hair models wear wigs or falls(half wigs) even those with locs
locs are not forever. You donât have to cut them off if you decide you want them out. A rat tail comb, a safety pin (for the sharp side) and conditioner + several hours or days and you can get them out
if you want long locs but canât afford loc extensions you can do them yourself. itâs not hard. Human afro kinky bulk hair Wrap it around your hair tightly  (like a box braid) plait the hair together. when you get to the get to the end of the braid add more hair by wrapping it around the mid point of the plait and braid down. keep doing this until you get the length you want. then wrap hair around the braid like yarn.
it will loc withy our hair in some months. in the meantime baby your loc extensions. no tight pony tails and gently wash your hair.
^and if you have locs stay away from products that are solid at room temperature to avoid build up!
yep. and donât ever put wax in your locs. that shit is not for us.
apple cider vinegar rinses every few months and or washing your locs with dawn can get a lot of build up out. make sure to condition well after
lint in your locs can be a bitch to get out though. you can usually pull off the lint balls from sweaters etc. But once it gets up the shaft itâs harder to get. So your options are either try to dig it out with a pin or a tack, ignore it, or dye it.
If you want a diy cleanser but donât like acv I recommend a lemon juice cleanse. It works and smells better but stick to using it when you just want to lightly freshen up your scalp and hair. If you have product build up or a dandruff problem use a sulfate free cleanser. I recommend Shea Moistureâs Yucca & Boabab shampoo in the green bottle. It saved my hair when I was transitioning from all my heat damage. Smells awesome too!
Try Tresemme mixed with Argon oil. Great and easy moisturizer to detangle hair with. On each Tresemme bottle there are specific ones for different hair types. If you have colour hair used the coloured ones. If you especially have natural coloured hair, look for shampoos preferably with no sulfate as it doesnât strip the natural hairâs moisture as well as the colour. Adding a bit of honey in your conditioner and shampoo does great for softness. Enjoy. xxxx
Herbal Essences âHello Hydrationâ was my holy grail shampoo when my hair was loose. It does amazing things for natural hair. Plus itâs cheap and smells good.
If you wear lace fronts as a protective style invest in a custom human unit, but order directly from Chinese vendors. If you are afraid to order over seas American vendors are an option but usually ridiculously overpriced.
Donât use tape or glue to apply your unit. Bobby pin installs work just as well. Save your edges.
Order your custom unit with an adjustable band in the back. Add a couple Bobby pins in the front and you are good to go.
For wash and gos (especially for my 4a-c ladies that could never get it right): 1. Watch this video. Changed my life.
For twistouts: 1. Put rollers on the end of your twists, if you notice your twists taper off towards the ends; itâll give you more uniform curls. 2. If your hair is cut in an awkward shape, donât be afraid to use bobby pins to pin your twistout into the shape you want. For the sections that are too long, go to the root of the section and lift it up, then pin it flat against a higher spot on your scalp. Viola! Perfect heart-shaped twistout.
For starting locks: 1. If you want to start them using two-strand twists but you want them to instantly look like locks (or at least further into the process than new twists) use the twist ripping method. Basically, start off with a couple of braid links (just to stretch the roots out a bit; not required), then combine all the hair. Re-separate into two sections and twist two or three rotations down, then combine all the hair. Re-separate into two different sections, then twist two or three rotations down, then combine the hair and re-separate again. Repeat all the way to the end; you should end up with a twist that has its pattern disrupted so many times, it no longer resembles a twist. These are also more secure, and donât wash out or unravel. 2. If you want to find tutorials on youtube, or pictures on google/pinterest, make sure you type in locs or locks and not dreadlocks or dreads. If you type in dreads, you get white people. If you type in locks/locs, you get the real thing.Â
^^^^^^^^^^^ White people appropriating locs are all over the tags here and on ig. Typing loc styles will show you more black people with what you are looking for
And if you type dyed locs in Google, Google will breakdown the colors of dye for you. It is so awesome
Bonnet dryers are your friends. You can get an inflatable attachment for your hand held hairdryer for like 10 bucks at Sallyâs or Amazon. Itâs very comfy and does the job
1. Anyone who tells you that you cant qash your locs the first couole months is a liar!! Mane & Tail has a really good cleanser thatâs inexpensive⊠the secret to shiny locs is cleansing shampoo + moisturizing shampoo + moisturizing conditioner. And deep conditioning every couple weeks. And if you have colored your locs dark I donât recommend lifting the color yourself with locs it can cause thinning. && always use dark colored towels and/or t-shirts when drying your locs less lint. And also have a friend lint check you every couple days so you donât have lint growing in your locs.
Ooooo ::adds main and tail to my shopping list:: thank you fam
is mane and tail only for locs? cause i used the conditioner in my hair and it just felt really dry
Oh no. Itâs for all hair. I used to use it on my human wigs.
For Muslim Natural Girls before putting on your Hijab moisturize and flat twist your hair so you can pin it down. Put on a satin scarf first and then put on your Hijab scarf (especially if your hijab scarf is cotton). JUST BECAUSE YOUR HAIR IS COVERED DOESNâT MEAN YOU DO NOT TAKE CARE OF IT LOL! When I started wearing my hijab more consistently I noticed wearing a satin scarf underneath it kept my hair moisturized tremendously. I have 3c/4a hair and do the LOC method once a week as well as co wash once a week before I wrap my hair the whole week with my different scarves. I only wash my hair with shampoo once a month. The LOC method is bomb asf. đđđœ
Also in reference to detangling, I often detangle my hair under the stream of running water when Iâm in the shower. Iâm not so good at hair typing but if I had to guess Iâd say my hair is in the 4a category.
1. Follow me at @brokeandnatural. 2. Donât be afraid to have fun with your hair. You can dye it, cut it, straighten it, and if it gets damaged say fuck it. Hair grows back. 3. There is a shampoo / cleanser for everybody. Cowashing does not and cannot clean your hair. If you donât like shampoo, try clay cleansers, castille soap mixes, whatever. Half of the dryness, itchiness, dullness, frizz, whatever, that you face is because your hair is filthy. Water only washing is full of lies as well. Clean your hair please God. Clean it often, clean it well. 4. Cheap conditioners are your friend. 5. Experiment with products, but work on developing a regimen. Hair thrives on consistency, even if the products are changing. And again, follow me @brokeandnatural

âIf you were willing to do whatever I asked, you wouldnât have disobeyed me.â She pointed out. She gently ran her hand over Carmenâs ass again before she went back to spanking her.
âPlease, mommy.â She pleaded as she squirmed under her touch. âIâll show you.â Her bottom lip pouted as she turned back to look at her.
Val stopped and looked down at her. She sighed and nodded. âVery well then. Show me.â
A small smirk returned to her lips once she was given permission. Carmen got on her knees and looked up at the older women before pushing her legs apart and kissed the inside of her thighs.

âI can pretend that it freaks me out if that is going to make you feel better?â She said before shrugging her shoulders. âI mean what do you want me to say, âOh my god, youâre a freak of natureâ?â
