I WILL LOVE DRAWING FOREVER!!! but lately posting has felt demoralizing...

"Engagement" everywhere for artists feels reduced to counting numbers. but numbers mean NOTHING to a lover of rarepairs like me lol and tumblr tags feel so much more...demure(empty)...nowadays

tbh i hate the timeline where i get in my head, thinking posting art feels less like i'm sharing with Anyone and more like i'm probably just feeding my art into an ai database

i always hope the fanart i share will inspire someone to share a silly or thoughtful comment/idea. But a really sweet message like yours feels like it could feed me for a winter

I haven’t started bg2 yet so she's still a bit of an egg. Here's a bit of her Candlekeep origins:

Netomp is bored, suspiciously strong, and can smell the fear in someone's sweat should it be there. Fighter/Thief

Netomp and Gorion cared deeply for eachother despite a couple rocky adolescent years. But Netomp grew up always dimly aware of the smell of veiled anxiety that propelled Gorion's surveillance, quick interventions, and course-corrections of her behavior.

Netomp learned to cope with her intrusive thoughts by minimizing her wants and needs. This has made her a somewhat unambitious laze-about. Save for her hobby being Physical Excursion. It is the best way to clear her mind and she's a mild annoyance at the Candlekeep Barracks.

Netomp and Imoen are inseparable as well as physically aggressive with one another. Although it was a lot worse when they were children. They have snapped eachother’s fingers, broken noses, drawn blood with teeth over things like stolen blouses etc.

it was for this reason Winthrop took in Imoen early on… too much chaos for Gorion’s one roof.

Imoen took more interest in the libraries of Candlekeep, Netomp relied on her to pick out the interesting books to read aloud so Netomp may busy themself doing push ups or whatever… Petty theft has been their shared hobby since they were little.

If Netomp were a music genre she'd be stoner metal.

What kind of markers do you use? Mine are old and dying and I’m procrastinating getting new ones but I like the way your marker lay on the paper

thanks! i use copic markers

some of the copics in my collection are 20+ years old so while dummy expensive at least they hold up.

i don’t know how they compare to other alcohol-based markers, but i think the alcohol component is probably the most important when it comes to how it absorbs and layers with paper. (and interacts w ink)

alcohol markers also take color pencil ontop of it really well too!

omg I'm so delighted by khalid x viccy please tell me more. I do think she has potential to start mean as hell to him because he doesn't give off 'strong' vibes and come around to seeing how strong he is in the way he handles his fear. :'):'):') (I also made a lot of effort to not spoil her lore before I got it from the romance and it was absolutely worth it, so I am hype for you to experience it!)

heheh well it’s not very fleshed out in my mind yet, since i’ve got some viccy lore to discover… but it started because i like the tension in their SoD banter, how viconia brings out a distrustful side of khalid 😏

In a scenario where Khalid lives and Jaheira doesn’t, I imagine their relationship forms in a time of emotional lows and ill-found catharsis. Khalid looking to be hurt, Viconia looking to hurt something kind of vibe.

What’s interesting to me is that Viccy seems dually suspicious of and fascinated by acts of kindness. Like she might want to test the limits of someone’s kindness to enforce her belief that it was a fallacy all along.

Juxtaposed to a Khalid saddled with grief and guilt that has him believing his soft heart really is a weakness…I guess it would be interesting to see that version of Khalid’s limits pushed and surprising to see where they still stand firm.

So like a short-lived relationship that starts out with two people looking to pull a toxie but kind of end up challenging eachothers false world views and respecting eachother a bit more by the end.

i do like those kinds of ships lol

i love viconia fans!! i haven’t spoiled her lore for myself yet because i want to romance her…which kinda makes me timid over posting my viconia doodles. worried its obvious i’m only admiring her from afar by the way i draw her atm LOL but if feels like the viconia fans always cheer me on :,^)
