I'm back again to share my thoughts on songs that play during my commute to work. Today started with Lie, which I feel is a song I couldn't fully understand or appreciate on it's release.

One of the most contributing factors to my obsession with BTS is how they shared the world with how they saw it. Watching them, listening to them, inspired me to be self critical and forgiving. While having not mastered introspection, they made me want to feel worthy of being a fan.

As I get older and closer to the age the boys were at the time these albums were written, the more I relate to them and reflect.

Lie is a beautiful showcase of Jimin's vocals. While not initially attracted to this track, it is one that has grown on me. Today, the lyrics hit home as I am sure they do for many others. Regretting who you've become, not recognizing your past self, and desperate to return to a more peaceful version is a development that most if not all of us go through.

Tracks like this one are my favorite. They inspire me to be honest, productive, and never stagnant.

Roughly 7 years ago, I planned to write a nonromantic fic about pirates

So I lied, I deleted all my drafts as a way to distance myself from my previous work...but I didn't delete the outline I had made.

I like pirates.

I could write about pirates.

at least i left a proper outline for myself to reimagine years later. i did a lot of groundwork before deleting an entire chapter in blunder years. ( ·᷄ ︵·᷅ )

I am a fellow pirate enjoyer, and planned to write one years ago. i keep asking myself why i want to revive my passion in this fandom, why i even want my old url back when i regret a majority of the content i wrote under it.

i've finally worked it out, i want to reclaim this part of my youth. i threw it away and drank to forget it. all due to one bitter, hateful person i ended up imitating in life. it's not the same without my old mutuals, but i hope to feel some spark of happiness by writing this blog.

I've been wanting to publish my thoughts on BTS songs and comparing them to how I felt about them on release.

Ever since turning on a playlist focusing on early BTS albums, I've felt in generally better spirits. Nostalgia is hell of a drug, but there are definitely bops that I did not appreciate at first.

Paldogangsan is one of such cases. Silly high school freshman Aly did not appreciate lyrical genius, although the beat was great situationally.

It's a song I will now listen to while playing BG3 because it gets me in the headspace for my oathbreaker paladin. It's so unapologetically self celebrating of a song, and sometimes that is the energy I need to romance Astarion.
