Do the guys let lance do spa days with them? I just keep imagining lance running his hands through their hair to pin it back and just seeing how happy he is doing this

You bet your butt they do spa days, all at Lance’s insistence. His boys need to learn to treat themselves. If he doesn’t pamper them every now and then they’ll just go on with unmoisturized skin and knotted up shoulder muscles and unconditioned hair. He gives them the full treatment and teaches them as he goes cause no way is he gonna give them a spa day without getting a massage or his nails done too.

Keith and Shiro used to not care much either way, so they went with it to make Lance happy cause it reminds him of home. But then they started genuinely enjoying and looking forward to it (listen Lance gives The Best massages okay). Plus, even though it’s not exactly their normal routine, it still feels normal, y’know. Like something they’d do if they were just chilling back on Earth. It’s very grounding and relaxing and good for all of them in general. Occasionally one or two of the others on the ship will join in, but Lance usually gives the others spa days separately so that he, Keith, and Shiro can have some time to themselves.

what do you think would happen if one of them got seriously injured and had to spend a long time in one of the pods? how would the other two react?

there’d be subtle differences in how they’d react, and it would also depend on the how and why of one of them getting injured, but the general consensus is Not Good. Not Good At All.

keith and lance bottle things up in different ways.

for keith that results in tension which results in more anger which results in more bottled up stuff because he doesn’t wanna end up taking that out on anyone else. more time training to vent, more time spend pushing his limits to an unhealthy extreme. he’s usually not one for long talks or anything and this only gets more apparent the more worried he gets. he distances himself a lot from the others.

for lance that results in self-doubt. in blaming himself. in ‘i should’ve been faster’ and ‘i should’ve been stronger.’ this would be especially bad if he had helped in coming up with the battle plan in any way, even if the plan itself didn’t fail and one of them just was in the wrong place at the wrong time and it wasn’t lance’s fault, he’d still blame himself. he also has the bad habit of thinking “it should’ve been me instead.”

as for shiro. he’s got? a bit of both. he needs to keep himself together as the leader, but he’s only human. and being the leader, if anything goes wrong, he places the blame entirely on his own shoulders. purposefully. knowingly. he’ll still help his team, but he’ll spend more time holing himself up, imagining situation after situation, what decisions could he have made to make things end up differently, what actions can he take next time to make sure this never happens again.

but. another consensus is that the two who are not in the pod will always be there for each other. they’ll be there for support, for a shoulder to cry on, for a person to vent to, for reassurance, for a lap to sleep on when they stay up late keeping watch on the pod. they ground each other, care for each other, and make sure that no lasting damage is done to themselves so they can be in top shape to catch the other when the pod finally opens up.

shklance at the carnival

lance and shiro are banned from several booths

not because they cheat but because the booths are obviously rigged and they still manage to win a lot

keith is actually so bad at carnival games but mostly cause he’s got bad luck and is easily frustrated

but he’s the best of all of them at not falling on his ass inside those fun houses with moving floors and rotating rooms he’s got that shit on lock

lance wins them prizes at the aiming/shooter games

shiro wins them prizes at the strength testing games

every time shiro is looking cool af after winning a strength testing game lance squeals and jumps into his arms dramatically proclaiming “MY HERO <3”

keith rolls his eyes at them but snaps a photo because he’s a cheese like that

cotton candy kisses

lance loves the sweet taste

keith doesn’t like the stickiness on his cheeks but he tolerates it cause he loves them

plus they litter his cheeks with kisses and it tickles so it makes him giggle

keith and lance use roller coasters and rides for competition

first to say uncle has to wear the silly hat

said hat is the only prize keith managed to win by randomly picking a rubber duck with a star on the bottom (only luck he had all day)

shiro likes roller coasters but there’s no Thrill in them for him

but it’s cute to see lance and keith scream-laughing and having fun

lance names a cute little black dog plushie keith and keith blushes

shiro names this cute little smug looking tabby cat plushie lance and lance dIES

lance and keith holding shiro’s hands and guiding him to open spaces when he’s feeling too claustrophobic cause of crowds

lance is super superstitious, and only agreed to go in cause he KNOWS it’s all people in costumes that aren’t actually messing with some bruja bullshit

keith squints suspiciously at everything but is otherwise oddly calm

shiro has died, his soul has left the building, his skin has gone  clammy and pale, he’s constantly stopping himself from making a tea kettle noise

lance, clinging to shiro: youll protect me right babe

shiro, edging further away: i cant read suddenly i dont know 

keith: this is…a verbal conversation???

they are forcefully removed from the haunted house

in the end they have to leave a bit before the carnival closes or else the cops risk getting involved aka: best carnival date EVER

Shklance concept: Keith and Lance are sparring in hand to hand combat and Keith keeps smoking Lance every time and Lance is really frustrated and angry at Keith for being better than him. Shiro pulls him aside and Lance complains that Keith’s acting like a dick (Keith huffs and smirks like lol ur just a sore loser) and Shiro says, “no he isn’t. I know it’s hard but you need to get better at this and practice makes perfect. It’s really important that you have the tools you need to defend yourself in any situation.” Lance is like “whatever, i have my bayard and my lion I’ll be fine” and Shiro puts his arm around him and touches foreheads and sighs and says “Lance… I just… don’t want you to get hurt. I want you to be ok.” There’s a silence and half of Keith’s face is peeking around the corner. “me too.”
