I LIKE THIS GENRE OF WOMEN WHATEVER THIS IS
This has been a most worthwhile evening 🍽
I love how everyone is super tense and then there's Demetrius that just:
Food.
spy x family + text posts & random headlines: the desmonds edition
In light of the current arc, I offer my version of this meme for SxF.
『ロイヨル | スパイファミリー 』🚢🌅
Loid's hard life as an overthinker:
I bet on everything that he couldn't sleep that day
You know I'm right
One thing that I like about sxf is that despite being a shonen (with not a teenager protagonist), Endo makes Twilight hot and very capable, but at the same time, make it hard for fans to give him harem.
Like, Endo does create lots of awesome women, but it is clear that Twilight has no (romantic) interest at them at all.
Karen?
Twilight didn't even bat an eye. Dumped her just like that
Nightfall?
Twilight clearly never see her more than colleague and mentee. He even despise the idea of their cover story as married couple
How about older woman? Handler??
Twilight clearly afraid respects her as older sister boss and mentor. And that's that.
The City Hall women who swoon at him?
Twilight imagine them as evil and despicable.
The only woman who can make him making lots of expressions, such as:
Devastated and confused
Flustered
Melancholic
Proud
Lovestruck Skipping a heartbeat
And truly smile
Is just Yor.
Love it 🥰
AND let us not forget when Endo tried to bring up the harem spy thing! When Bondman had a harem of women attack him.
Twilight hates this. Even if his hatred is because spy work isn't even close to what's portrayed in Bondman or if it's because this nonsense is in a show for little kids is besides the point. Even when Twilight was called upon to honey trap someone, it sounds like he kept it strictly professional (and possibly monogamous). It's not about "how many women you bag" it's about the mission.
And in missions where it isn't needed, he doesn't engage in that. He goes out of his way to prove to Yor that, regardless of their arrangement, he's not going to cheat on her. And that's even without considering that he's clearly smitten by her.
The man doesn't need a harem.
He needs his family. The ones who keep him human.
Venting to @imthepunchlord about the state of the Spy x Family fandom this morning because some VERY worrying posts have been repeatedly showing up in the tags in regards to certain neurodivergent tendencies (seriously, if neurotypicals can STOP implying that there is something unnatural about the way neurodivergent minds work and insisting that therefore those differences have an unnatural source like experimentation or some kind of intentional mental training against the only known esper in the universe? That would be super, thanks.) and obviously, as a neurodivergent person myself they bothered me quite a bit. I started talking about how I hoped that the introduction of Demetrius meant that Endo was going to address the abuse that neurodivergent children in particular suffered in Nazi Germany. So I pulled up the wiki article on Asperger to start giving examples of what I was referring to, and nearly had a heart attack.
Because it turns out that Sigmund Authen being modeled after Einstien is NOT the only historical figure to make it into the spy x family story.
The main scientist who ran the experiments on Anya was ABSOLUTELY modeled after Hans Asperger.
Which is an absolute win for those of us who have mentioned seeing neurodivergent tendencies in Anya!
And before anyone jumps on me about my frustrations at the fandom in the beginning of this post or come at me with the claim that I'm being hypocritical, know that there is a key difference between how Anya is actually written vs how some people in the fandom are choosing to interpret Demetrius;
Anya's powers are not reliant on her neurodivergence.
Anya is a neurodivergent child with a superpower. There are times when she loses her telepathic powers, but all of her neurodivergence remains. And honestly with the revelation that the man responsible for experimenting on her was based on Asperger and what his research was like, I feel that this is NOT a case of Autism is Magic! But rather Anya being chosen for experimentation by virtue of being a neurodivergent child and gaining her telepathy by happenstance.
Meanwhile, the aspect of Demetrius' character that people are jumping on and theorizing about is the fact that he dissassociates in social situations, something that I, a real life autistic person who does NOT have superpowers, was NEVER experimented on, and have NEVER recieved any kind of training against telepathic powers also happen to do regularly.

What is dissociation?
Many people may experience dissociation (dissociate) during their life. If you dissociate, you may feel disconnected from yourself and the world around you. For example, you may feel detached from your body or feel as though the world around you is unreal. Remember, everyone’s experience of dissociation is different. Dissociation is one way the mind copes with too much stress, such as during a traumatic event. There are also common, everyday experiences of dissociation that you may have. Examples of this are when you become so absorbed in a book or film that you lose awareness of your surroundings. Or when you drive a familiar route and arrive at your destination without any memory of how you got there. Experiences of dissociation can last for a short time (hours or days) or for much longer (weeks or months). Dissociation may be something that you experience for a short time while something traumatic is happening. But you also may have learned to dissociate as a way of coping with stressful experiences. This may be something that you’ve done since you were young.
Ok, time to cross my fingers and wait for this scene.
HE'S HEEEERE LAD IS HERE
Thoughts about Twilight being the same age or younger than Yor given his "history" with documentations and identities?
I really doubt that even WISE knows his real age nor name so I've been thinking about this.
*MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD*
He is most likely older. We’re told in Twilight’s backstory that he faked his age to join the army before he was 18.
By the end of that chapter, we see his childhood friends - who we can assume is the same age as Twilight - have joined the army as relatively fresh recruits. Which puts Twilight at ~18-19 ish when he joined WISE.
When he joined WISE, the war was still ongoing. We know that the war ended 10Y+ ago, which is consistent with Twilight saying he’s been a spy for ‘ten-odd’ years.
So, Twilight’s definitely older than Yor - how much older depends on 1) when exactly the war officially ended, 2) when we think Twilight joined WISE - beginning? middle? end of the war?
But ‘Loid Forger’ is also probably older than Twilight’s real age. If that makes any sense. I mean, his cardigan look instantly ages him 5-10 years… but in a ‘aged like fine wine’ kind of way.
Who knows Yor 🤷♀️
someone said that the reason why Loid isn't surprised or suspicious about Yor's super strength is bc he only knows strong women in his life. Nightfall and Sylvia, but isn't that more reason for him to be suspicious of Yor? Those two women he knows are agents, they trained for years to be that strong, and it's not like he didn't encounter other women in his life. He's been involved with many other women for his mission, he should know well that a normal woman, working in a City Hall no less, having that kind of strength isn't normal.
I remember Yor also helped him prepare for his tennis match, so he probably saw during the training how Yor diced a ball or something. When Yor defeated Fiona, a well trained agent, in their little match, he wasn't even surprised and his only reaction was:
I swear Loid is super smart but he's the greatest dork when it comes to Yor. Yor is not even a good liar, he was even surprised when Yuri believed her excuse for not telling him their marriage right away, but he's also just eating up all the lame excuses that she makes to explain why she's THAT strong
Loid Forger really said “ah yes Yor is such a normal person” after she drop kicked multiple people on their first date and then ran after a mugger on their second
THEN he spends one evening with her overprotective drunk brother and immediately clocks him as a member of the secret police.
The duality of this man is truly inspiring.
