By redirecting the conversation back to why Glade had came here in the first place, Dani was challenging him. Either he would finally confirm what the both of them knew, and admit that he was only here looking for a hook up with her or he would have to lie and pretend as if he had came in to shop despite how late in the day it already was and how the only thing he had purchased was an item that he barely glanced at when buying it. And seeing how he hasn’t bothered to try and leave since making his purchase, that once again leaned more towards the proof that he was only here looking for sex from her and sex alone. Which is why it didn’t matter which choice he ends up making— she already made up her mind. With a tilt of her head, strands of her red hair brushing against the side of her cheek as she stared at him, waiting for what he’ll say next now that she had informed him the shop was officially closed. Would he finally try and leave now? The redhead had every right to kick him out if he didn’t now that opening hours were over. And yet, she stayed leaning against the counter, very aware of their closeness she had put them in.
As she watched while his gaze fell onto her lips, Dani nearly smirked at him. He was so predictable, she thought, expecting any second now for him to try and close out the space between them with the attempt on kissing her. They were in perfect range for doing so, Dani intentionally leaning in very close as if she was purposely trying to tempt Glade into doing exactly that. And she was. She was trying to tempt him, not only because she wanted to be proven right with her blunt assessment on him but also because that way they can finally drop the topic on him wanting to commission her. She still didn’t think he was being serious— all of this had to be some long winded ploy in getting her to agree to sleep with him once he had realized she wasn’t responding well to his flirting attempts. Instead, he was going to complimentary route, gassing her up to thinking she’ll be making a commission, only to tear her down once he got what he wanted from her. It was kind of sick if that was what he was actually doing, but it wasn’t as if the two of them were friends, so, he didn’t owe her his genuine interest or kindness if he didn’t want to. Besides, it wasn’t as if she didn’t know he was used to getting what he wanted.
He confirmed what the both of them were thinking, this resulting in her smirking for real. Knew it. But then as Glade leaned in closer, their lips just a hair away from pressing against one another, he did something that ended up surprising her. Instead of kissing her like Dani expected, she felt his lips brush against her cheek before mentioning the commission again in a whisper. He then pulled back, their gaze locking once more— she was dumbfounded. So he was being serious? A part of her still wanted to believe that he was playing with her, acknowledging the bait she left him but twisting it so he’ll be the one stringing her along instead of the other way around. But as she stared back at him in what now felt like them being on a standstill, the redhead also couldn’t think of why he would keep insisting on the commission if he had confessed that he wanted to sleep with her— he could’ve easily kissed her when he had the chance to. Basically, what was happening right now was that Glade had left the ball on Dani’s court, leaving her to decide on where they go from here. Lips pressing against each other, she leaned back and created more distance between them. She then took out her phone, messing around with it for a few seconds before holding it out towards him. “Fill out this forum and then press submit— this way it’s binding that you’re commissioning me and then we can work on creative process afterwards.”
After handing him her phone, the redhead moved away from the counter, and made her way towards the entrance of the thrift shop. There, she flipped the ‘OPEN’ sign over to ‘CLOSED’. Her hand then landed on the lock, but just as she was about to turn it over so that the shop would be officially closed, Dani paused for a second to look back at Glade. She should wait until he filled out the forum and tell him to leave so she could finish out her closing duties. He might actually listen to her this time and do it too. But somehow, she still felt frustrated with that thought, almost as if her dealing with him this entire time had been for nothing if all she had to do was show him her designs. With a huff, she turned the lock, effectively closing the two of them in before making her way back to him. Dani waited until she saw him press the ‘submit’ button before grabbing his arm, taking her phone back. “Done? Great— come with me.” As if she bothered to wait for his response, the redhead began pulling Glade along with her towards the back of the store, and into the break room where she knew there weren't any cameras. She locked the door from behind her too, and without as much of saying anything else, she gripped onto his shirt and pulled him down. Her lips crashing into with his.
