i'm uzem (she/her, 22 y/o) and i've lurked in the mcyt/dsmp fandom for the past six years!!!

i've mainly been on twitter for that time, but i really love how active the fandom is here on tumblr, so i hope to find some fellow loreheads here!

to be clear this is all based purely on canon, no AU shenanigans here. i'm a little iffy about some of my choices but i feel like this is a pretty solid rundown. thoughts....? objections.....?

c!q and c!wil definitely fit into the "lying to themselves" category too but i think they're most guilty of blatant audience gaslighting. (especially LN era q and l'manberg/election era cwilbur.)

the "hates you personally" category is just all the characters whose povs the audience never really got to see. but if i were to choose based on intuition i'd probably put c!schlatt into "lying to the reader" and c!skeppy into "has weird priorities" at least. c!dream and xd are enigmas.

I think c!jack manifold is gay and asexual however he does not pursue any romantic relationships because he has c!Niki and she is his best friend and that’s all he has the emotional capacity for and I want to see more of these dynamics please

.....i'm reposting my tweet here bc i'm soooooo normal about these guys like seriously i'm being so serious i'm sooo normal about them i prOMISE

real talk tho there are at least five different c!s i consider extremely underrated and double real talk 80% of them deserved better but i will never get over the sheer tragedy of all tftsmp could have been..... honorable mention to c!sapnap for similar reasons, but also on a narrative level for him cause damn.

c!jack has a special place in my heart bc he is to me what c!tommy is to like 90% of the fandom. honorable mention to c!niki and c!george here.

imo it's very difficult to argue against c!q having the best development. his character is just so comprehensive and fleshed out in canon that it's almost unfair. but honorable mention to c!eret.

compared to a lot of other antagonistic characters, c!wilbur kind of gets off easy considering how many people he hurt???? how culpable he is for a lot of the bad that happens throughout the story???? even after being revived and supposedly turning a new leaf???? he gets a happy ending and fucks off to utah???? so yes i believe he deserves to be beaten up a bit. all that coupled with the fact that unlike those other antagonistic characters, i find c!wilbur extremely hard to sympathize with. honorable mention to c!sam, but the thing is i still find him more sympathetic than c!wil!!!!!

i think the fandom these days is better about characterizing c!tubbo but idk it was just so egregious back in the day that i couldn't pick anyone else. honorable mentions to c!tommy and c!dream for this slot.

the thing about the dream smp is i dont think it actually matters at all if it was good or bad. what matters is that it was a completely unparalleled media experience and because of its specific circumstances gave me shrimp emotions that absolutely cannot be replicated

the extent of how canon quackity's skephalo homewrecking in 2021 is questionable at best but TO ME.......

in the aftermath of manberg and leading up to the genesis of las nevadas, c!quackity wedges himself between c!skephalo at every opportunity because he resents how much they remind him of how him and c!schlatt used to be.

and if he can't be happily dysfunctionally married to a rich intimidating devil man, nobody can!

(i think this is very in line with c!q's character, between his pettiness and jealousy and underlying desire for love that clashes with his desire for power......)

p.s., this is exactly why the tc!bbq dynamic is practically nonexistent.

tc!q still envies skephalo but the different circumstances surrounding schlatt (ie, him being alive) lead him to just ruminating about that envy instead of acting on it.

p.p.s., but those different circumstances also lead him to engage in some other questionable coping mechanisms (cough sapnap cough)

I need to rewatch the dsmp with someone and we take notes about silly ooc moments and/or habits the players have and try to turn them into in character mannerisms

Like Techno's loud ass keyboard, its his jewelery and hoofs making noise while he shuffles

this is my absolute favorite flavor of headcanon

like c!callahan being mute and communicating via sign language + all the og smp residents knowing/understanding it as a result

or c!tommy getting frequent calls from his childhood friends who didn't come with him to the smp

or c!dream constantly climbing walls and hanging off ledges and leaping across treetops to get places

or c!schlatt with a perpetual limp but refusing to use a cane
