Kirishima's sent to the future, atm undecided if sticking with the ep.'s canon of 20 years, following a villain encounter, which was preceded by the squad miscommunicating and arguing
Graduation draws near, adding to the group's stressors & argument/fight
Tetsutetsu's the one who finds him upon his arrival, cue manly tears and reunions and brief happiness
Then, he decides he wants/needs to see everyone else, maybe need them to recreate the original incident to kickstart his return to his own time
Hmm... thinking he may interact with Sero first, then Kaminari, Ashido, and lastly, Bakugou
Someone's dead in this future
Sero's left the profession, and has opened a gym and health center, his smile's smaller and has eye bags that could rival Shinsou's, he lives alone
Kaminari stayed a sidekick/pro... until he was medically discharged until he retired, he lives with Jirou and Yaoyorozu
Ashido has held onto hope, though hers has waned over the years, moreso than Tetsutetsu's, she worked with Fat Gum and Suneater, and now runs the agency, she really has time for work, she and bakugou and she and sero did not end on the best of terms
Vigilante!Bakugou, no commission, no red tape, no team, no extras to slow him down, make him care, make him worry over, no one to protect except himself
each of their relationships with one another has been hit, but also their relationships to being pro-heroes
the first time they see one another again after so long is when they all gather to help get Kirishima back home
You don't have to follow the rules of our natural world in fantasy writing.
Heal someone's wound with a dragon scale wrapped in a leaf.
Let crops grow at whatever pace you want. Also, make a weird fruit. Mash a couple together. Make it taste like beef stew.
And in science fiction, you only have to take some sort of logic to start with, but you can manipulate it however you like, as long as you have a crumb to hold onto.
Make that super suit out of an unknown quantity of star matter refined into thread. Yeah it's strong as hell and sparkles in the moonlight.
Have phones that fold into the size of a quarter and fit in your pocket.
Or, like, mess with weather patterns. Make the seasons change. Make areas of the world entirely different climates.

Shinsou hasn't heard from Kaminari in a while. He knows that they all get busy as pros, and they have entirely different work schedules (Shinsou sticking to the night and underground work, while Kaminari lights up the day), but he's used to a little pestering from his former classmate. Ridiculous memes, selfies around the city, pop culture knowledge that Shinsou has zero desire to know...
He misses it.
It becomes more concerning when he asks others if they've seen him around. Well, sure they have! On billboards. Projected on screens in the middle of the city. On TV.
But no one can actually pin point a date that they last saw him.
Shinsou decides to stop by Kaminari's apartment. Locked.
But the light is on. He looks from below. Ten floors up, his window glows.
Shinsou isn't one for breaking and entering with friends, but something feels off.
Using his scarf to climb, Shinsou drops onto Kaminari's patio.
He's inside. Staring at the TV, surrounded by takeout boxes and empty energy drink cans. It looks like a college dorm.
Or a horror movie.
Shinsou manages to slip inside without a word.
He grabs Kaminari's shoulders.
Kaminari screams.
They laugh. Kaminari throws an empty can at Shinsou, and a throw pillow.
When the laughter subsides, Shinsou sees Kaminari looking like half himself.
"You trying to look like me?" Shinsou teases, the eyebags heavy above Kaminari's cheeks, the pallor of his skin eerie.
Kaminari laughs again.
Hollow.
He slumps onto the couch.
Shinsou joins him.
"I just need a few days." Kaminari stares ahead, the TV the only life in the room.
From what?
He has engagements. Ads to record. Photoshoots scheduled. Appearances to make.
He can do it, Kaminari assures Shinsou, he's just needed a few days, and then maybe a few more.
This is worse than burnout. Shinsou can tell. There's something else.
He turns off the TV and hovers over Kaminari, refusing to leave until he's honest.
How dare Shinsou barge in! He just needs time off! Can't he take some time away from everything? Take a break?!
From what? His next advertisement for some underwear company that puts a lightning bolt on his ass and calls him heroic for it? "Go be a hero!" Shinsou shouts.
"I can't!" Kaminari yells back.
The lights flicker.
Sparks shoot from his hair.
The TV fizzles out.
Kaminari is curled in on himself, head in his hands, repeating his words.
He can't. He can't. He can't.
Not until he's allowed.
No until they say so.
Shinsou kneels in front of him, pushing Kaminari's face up. Them?
They have a guy, Kaminari says. He cleans things up. The Commission said they'd fix it. They'd let him know when they'd finished.
It was an accident.
They dealt with accidents.
Shinsou's blood runs cold.
Static pulses off Kaminari's body as he pushes tears back with his palms.
Four dead.
Four.
They'd checked the perimeter.
They didn't check the water main.
He had to use his quirk, but the water had filled the lowest floor.
Four kids. They were hiding.
Four.
They shouldn't have been there.
The building was evacuated.
They checked.
But it would be okay.
He just had to wait.
Kaminari's hands shook. A stream of electricity swirled it and around his palm. He slapped his hands together, thumb pressing into the pad of the other.
No. Stop. He can't. It's not safe.
But it will be.
It just isn't.
He isn't.
Shinsou places his hands over Kaminari's.
It shouldn't be this way.
The Commission wasn't supposed to be this way. Not anymore.
Kaminari shouldn't have been left this way.
Whatever they thought they'd fix, it had nothing to do with the man in front of him.
"Just a few more days." Kaminari words cut apart at a sob, and pull back together before another.
Shinsou holds onto him in the dark, wondering how far the corruption has spread.

it’s not weird to find fanfiction from 2021, or 2017, or 2014 that you’ve never read and actually taking your time to read it.
it’s not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.
it’s not weird to like said author’s work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.
it’s not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that you’ll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.
it’s not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.
it’s not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because it’s perfectly normal to relate to something that’s less than a decade old!
let’s stop treating fanfiction like they’re instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesn’t get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!
