from my non-gamer pov (I'm an #ally), what this has looked like is a critical mass of maddened and delirious silksong posting for the past ~week that built to a sustained frenzied climax for about ninety minutes either side of the game's actual release, at which point everyone went absolutely dead fucking radio silent. I have not heard a single peep from any of you about what is happening in this game. no liveblogging, no screenshots, no reactions, nothing. my girlfriend emerges from her room every five-to-eight hours to intone "I've been skonging it too hard," grab a morsel of food, and withdraw to her chambers once more. Is everyone okay Are you having fun Is the silksong loud and beautiful and are you so very afraid.

RE: MURDER DRONES FINALE

WHAT'S GOOD

V is alive! I would've considered it bad writing if she perma-died, not because of "wahh they killed off my favourite characterrrr" but because it was established OVER AND OVER again that it is HARD to kill a disassembly drone. N survived a headshot and J came back twice from two different deaths (i would've accepted holo spooky snake crab V though-) On that note: I do like how the "destroy the heart to destroy the drone" rule was established and followed. It gives an actual sense of consequence for some scenes, and allows for other stuff to be written off.

Next point: THE FUCKING ANIMATION. GOD. Watching this show change and get better over time has been SO rewarding. Seriously, go back and look at episode one compared to now. Lighting, cinematography, character movement: everything is so much better! It's honestly so inspiring.

WHAT'S BAD

I don't know if this is a popular opinion or not, but it feels like were still... missing something? like there's some big reveal or revelation that didn't happen, and it feels incomplete. I'm not sure where or what, but it's kinda bugging me.

Also, Uzi controlling the solver: How? I'm choosing to believe that this is only a temporary solution and that they're going to have to find another way to contain it eventually. Uzi doesn't have any unique trait that would allow her to contain the solver better than her predecessors (except being the child of a solver, but would that make a difference?) I don't mind it as a solution/writing choice/plot point, i just wish they elaborated on the logistics a bit more.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I'll probably never officially "leave" this fandom, but my art may shift focus over time. It's hard for me to properly express my interests (the fear of cringe runs deep within me unfortunately) so i might take a while before picking up a new fandom. or maybe i'll just disappear entirely! who knows! I have SO much OC stuff (both MD and otherwise) i eventually want to share, so here's hoping i get the courage to work on that.
