💚 Lloyd was a very bratty child before the ninjas. He didn’t know his mother, his father was evil and whisked away. He held a lot of fury in his tiny little heart, so he scared off potential friends.
💚 He definitely had unconventional experiences. Relatability is important in young relationships, so children deemed him as “weird” when he was just an intense kid trying to find his way.
💚 His body was the only thing that rapidly grew during the episode with the de-aged ninjas. His mind still belonged to a child, so he still had boyish interests. He probably still has a few stuffed animals and plays Ninjago’s equivalent of Pokémon cards. Lloyd, for a big part of the series, was a teen—and adult who lacked experience.
💚 There’s a lot of pressure on him. He had to mature much faster than any of the other ninjas to save the literal world. He lost his father, found him, the lost him again. There was a lot of instability for a long time. He copes through meditation and bonded with Wu through it. He tries to keep his temper in check and be a good example.
💚 He loves to be around children. He pays close attention to outcasts or hurting kids, knowing what they can become. He’s gentle and loving with each child he comes across. It’s not uncommon to see him make appearances at orphanages.
💚 Lloyd has a handful of insecurities that pertain to his childhood. He’s a symbol of good, yet he can’t help but worry that he could turn evil and repeat the cycle. His significant other can ease those worries.
💚 Lloyd’s experience with dating is the least compared to the others. He didn’t have that awkward phase of figuring out what he liked and first dates. He has very middle school or early high school vibes when he starts dating. You may have to lead in the relationship until he gets comfortable.
💚 A partner was never planned, but he didn’t reject the idea either. Love came along the way, like a lot of great romances. A strong friendship is needed first. Lloyd has to know you’re trustworthy first.
💚 Kai is the one closest to an older brother. He often seeks advice from Kai when it comes to girls, despite Jay having the longest romance.
💚 Being a ninja comes first most days. As Lloyd’s lover, you’ll have to understand and respect that. He has a duty that goes beyond you, but he loves you very much. He always tries to show you that.
💚 His dates are boyish at first—video games or sharing sweets. (He has a VERY prevalent sweet tooth.) When he consults Kai, Kai eases him into other ideas like dinner and a movie. Lloyd probably researches places in Ninjago to visit.
💚 Dates may be rescheduled, but Lloyd makes up each and every single date. He adores you more than you realize. He treasures his time with you, and he thinks you’re strong for understanding how important his job is.
💚 Lloyd’s PDA is practically unheard of. Civilians are easy targets. One dating Lloyd Garmadon? Wow, it must be Christmas. Don’t misunderstand—Lloyd loves to be affectionate. He wants to have a normal relationship, but normal relationships don’t have elemental dragons and tabloids speculating on marriages.
💚 Lloyd is most affectionate when it’s just the two of you. Being with the ninjas may get an arm around your shoulders, but Lloyd doesn’t have to worry about a thing when he’s home with you. He wraps his arms around your waist from behind while you cook. If you’re just the right height, Lloyd’s chin rests on your head. If not, it rests on your shoulder. He likes to nuzzle you and steal quick kisses. He’s a bit like a puppy. He likes cuddles and personal time with you. His love language is very much quality time.
💚 Lloyd is a very big fan of being the big spoon. It’s like protecting you in his sleep.
💚 He gets a little stressed? Draw him a bath, make something sweet, and get his favorite video game ready. Works every time.
