AHEM, similar to the rwby one, i will state that i'm not much for a fanfic writer, so this is mostly a vague thotpost of how i sort of imagine the AU to work or go. it's unfinished and not ironed or whatnot, and whoever sees can have fun w th au too!!

inspo - ace attorney for the most part bc the only other VN murder mystery im familiar w is danganronpa and 999 and theres like, no killing game happening here-
also im not murder mystery writer idk how to make a good mystery so there's no figuring anything out here im sry its just vague plots and its kinda dumb
So I imagine the first case starts with Owain talking to Leo, and Leo thanking Owain for taking the case. Leo will act as the 'mentor' here and kind of establish that 'I know things don't work quite the same where you're from, but I appreciate you coming all this way regardless.'
which establishes that Owain is not from wherever the current story takes place, and Leo will essentially guide how a case will work, which is pretty much ace attorney style and will basically ask like 'you know where the evidence is?' tutorial style and owain can say yes or no bc this is an ace attorney game and whatever
the first case is a pretty cut and dry case of Arthur being the defendant (ofc, he slots in way too easily-), vrs Iago as ur prosecutor and idk. Hans as ur witness but actually the killer? idk who victim is- bridge hoshido bro #1 or something idk
The first part sets up that Owain is a little new here, he's not alone, and internally remark a couple of things, that he should not 'do his mentor injustice' and that 'inigo's work led us here, so i should do my best with what he's collected.' which tells us that inigo was supposed to take the case but is currently out of commission for ~some reason~

Owain will have some sort of like, moment of breather where he narrate it's been a long while but he should review the stuff they've learn and 'the reason they're here' before he regroups w the other two beca ooohhh mystery and plot OOOOoooooOOOooOoO
Selecting Inigo will have Inigo's journey on investigating Nohr, and selecting Severa will have her journey on investigating Hoshido
Owain can be selected but like, i imagine its like a 'reccomended after you complete the other 2' kind of thing bc Owain's will be Valla and kind of both? I also imagine his might be shorter than the other 2 just bc you start w Owain, w maybe Inigo and Severa having 2-3 cases in their routes each? Idk tbh? maybe he just automatically comes after
and he might remark something like 'it would make more sense to review the other two's before mines- but should i?' or smthing if you select him recalling his route ig
Inigo's route will be harder when you're actually in the courtroom and have to debate the prosecutor, as the Nohrian side will have the prosecutor be more likely to Forge Evidence and be more underhanded w bribing witnesses and such and inigo has more pressure because This Is The Actual Court Case
Severa's route will be harder on the actual investigation and questioning witnesses outside of the court due to the Hoshidan side being totally xenophobic- I imagine theyre very reluctant to talk to severa and will make a lot of comments about her being foreign and severa is 100% getting frustrated and pissed over this
i dont actually know what they uncover, BUT, inigo ends with him being in the hospital because he was 'sticking his nose in places he shouldn't have been' (he totally got beat up im sry) and severa ends with her going to detention/jail for like, a week because she 100% chose to break into some building (or 100% totally threw hands with the police and shes like ACAB!! FUCK THE POLICE ! ! ! I NEED THIS EVIDENCE and like, definitely got in trouble for picking a fight idk like im sorry she totally would and its like, sort of her fault) to recover some KEY evidence and totally got in trouble for this
idk what owain's uncover, i'm so sorry, maybe he's just the final route? or his route is just after you review severa and inigo's?
what you will learn though throughout the game is that
Owain, Inigo, and Severa are Robin's lawyer apprentice/students, or like, interns. basically all 3 of them trained under robin to 'chase the truth' or smthing, idk and try to hold up their values as what Robin taught them.
Anakos hired them to investigate Garon & Mikoto (bc robin couldnt bc theyre out of country? idk) and they're the apprentices of the Legendary Lawyer, Robin who solved the Grima Files (Prequel game idea). And robin isnt an option so theyre the next best thing ig idk why dont ask me
and he says something like he's so positive that theyre like, totally corrupt and like fucking up the law system bro, and like they're cramping his style, Maybe anakos appears on at least once in both their routes to see how theyre doing and like their progress? and appears as a kind of friendly face
Owain considers the evidence, and it accumulates to uhm, mikoto dying ofc bc of garon or whatever

maybe turns out to twist that Anakos wanted them out of the way so he orchestrated this whole thing so garon would get arrested and mikoto would be like, removed and they were the last pawns who kept blocking his way from being idfk in charge of the prosecutjopfsdhdfshdfsaoiujdfsohdsfiopdfs HONESTLY IDK WHY HE HIRED THEM I NEVER FIGURED THIS PART OUT

- considered Leo being a prosecutor instead, and wanted to help out but he's a prosectuor--dfs DSFJI{FDSO HE:P{ and niles being on the defendant on one case, and thats how owain/inigo ending taking the case bc they dont trust anyone else idknjdfshoijdfsofds imagine losing to the philanderer or this airhead who keeps talking about the Chosen Ones and showing off his hot sexy abs what the fuck why did he think that
idk if they do go by different names? i considered maybe just bc they dont want to be tied to previous cases (grima files ?) or smthing but im not sure
i imagine their 'abilities' being associated w the canon ace attorney games, with inigo having phoenix's locks (from henry!inigo from henry) , severa having apollo's sight (i dont think she got it from anyone, i just think it's conceptually very funny that she's just so detail oriented and just laser focuses on ur finger twitching and shes like I FUCKING SAW THAT. DONT LIE TO ME. I SAW THAT.) , and owain having athena's hearing for emotions (maybe family ability? owain literally being an empath is conceptually so funny and talking about being empath n u think its a meme but no he was actually being legit) - they even match colors!!
alternatively, they all having the lock ability, acquired from robin their and play rock paper scissors w the magatama is also conceptually very funny and its MY TURN W THE LOCK ABILITY

I’ve always thought it was a shame that Fates never showed Felicia, Flora or their father in traditional Ice Tribe clothing. So Imagined it myself! Inspired by Finnish folk dress ( & big coats with fur )–because I love the colours and patterns so much!
