Hey, so, I made a thing. My library gives out candy at the front desk because, well, candy, and so I thought it would be fun to make a summer candy dish. It’s technically a coil basket, and the yarn I used was one of those Caron Cakes multi-colored yarn skeins you can get at Michael’s or your local craft store. Since we needed one for summer, I thought these colors would brighten up the place, and I made the flower because this was my first coil basket and I kind of bungled the finishing tie, so I needed something bright and shiny to cover it up. Since I recently got an i-cord knitter, I took advantage of it and made the flower. Luckily for me, I found a packet of buttons at Michael’s with the exact same color scheme. (I wonder if the yarn company and button company are related somehow? Like, seriously, it was the exact series of colors almost in the exact shades. The only difference was that there was also a purple button included.) In any case, I went with a pink button to tie it in with the largest part of the basket.

As a first try, I don’t think this one turned out too badly. It’s a little wonky, but good enough to put candy in, and that’s really the most important thing.
