When you wave at someone who was waving to the person behind you
Me: *Minding my own business watching a kpop video*
Friend: What’re you doing?
Me: Watching a kpop video
Friend: Oh I don’t like Kpop its-
Me:
Goodbye | Suga
You watched him as he walked away from you. Your fake smile fading as the view of his back grew smaller and smaller.
You didn’t want him to go.
You wanted to chase after him. Get him to stay. Tell him how you truely felt. Why was it so hard? Why was so difficult for you to take even a single step towards the person you were in love with? The person you had been in love with since you were thirteen?
You gazed in silence as the sound of the wheels of his suitcase on the polished floor grew fainter and fainter.
You thought back to those cold winter nights by the fireplace as you and your friends played truth or dare. You smiled at the memory of Yoongi clutching his stomach in laughter as the fiery embers of the fire reflected in his warm eyes. You cried silently at the memory of your friend asking you if you liked anyone in the circle when it was your turn, and then you giving a brief glance at Yoongi before you lied through your teeth. No.
As you stood alone at the airport, watching your best friend walk towards the plane that would be taking him away, your heart mourned for what could have been.
————————-
Yoongi inhaled deeply. He took in the floral smell of your hair for the last time as he held you in his arms. He wanted this moment to last forever. He wished for the two of you to be locked in this fantasy and not return to reality.
But he wasn’t one to have his wishes granted. He wasn’t lucky like that. Because if he was then you would be on that plane with him. You would be not only his best friend but his soulmate. But to his dismay your weren’t. So all he could do was hold you like his life depended on it as he etched in his mind the memory of the way you felt in his embrace.
As the final boarding call was announced across the speakers, he reluctantly pulled away and gave you a gentle peck on your temple before he turned around and walked towards his gate.
Every step that he took was heavy and burdened with regret. The regret that he would have to live with this for the rest of his life.
As selfish as it was, he wanted you to stop him. All you needed to do was call out his name and he would stay. He would stay for you. But you didn’t and he kept walking.
In the time it took him to reach his gate, he had replayed every single moment in his head. Every moment that he ever had where he was this close to revealing how he truely felt for you. But with every memory, came the painful memory his friend. His friend who was like a brother to him. His friend who had been in love with you since the day he met you. The friend who told Yoongi on a summer’s eve on the soccer field, that he was going to marry the girl with the beautiful smile one day. The friend who Yoongi and you cried for at his funeral after his tragic death.
He couldn’t do that to his friend. To his brother. So as hard as it was to stomach, Yoongi got on that plane because it was getting harder and harder to live life pretending that you didn’t mean the entire world to him.
Tears washed over his eyes as the wheels of the plane made their way down the runway.
Goodbye.

——————
There were still moments where you had to stop and conduct a mental check with yourself. Am I going crazy? No, I’m not. This is just the messed up reality that you of all people, happened to live in. You grew up in the midst of a bundle of lies that were weaved to shelter you from the truth. This is what happens when good intentions fail.
You didn’t want to meet with Hanuel anymore. Not after what Hanbin had told you. If he was right, then Hanuel couldn’t be trusted. Hanbin clearly didn’t trust him…so why should you? Because if you’ve learnt anything in the past twenty-four hours, it’s that you would be a terrible poker player. You trusted too easily and weren’t exactly great at seeing through peoples facades, but that was something you were determined to change.
Pulling out your phone, you flicked a message to Hanuel.
Sorry but I’m going to have to cancel our sessions from today onwards. I know you have a test on Monday but I’ll send you some resources that will be helpful. Good luck with the rest of the semester.
“I cancelled,” you said to Hanbin but he already knew that since he was reading over your shoulder as you composed the text.
“Good,” he stated, his anxious heart finally calming down a little now that he knew you weren’t going to see Hanuel anymore. He didn’t know what Hanuel’s play was but he knew he was trouble. Somehow he was linked to Hades, he just knew it, and whenever the mere mention of Hades was made, Hanbin’s blood boiled.
“So where did you want to take me?” you finally asked.
——————
Pulling up in an old abandoned warehouse, you felt the hairs on the back of your neck rise. Old abandoned warehouses were never a good sign. People usually go missing in these places if TV has taught you anything.
“Where is this place?” you asked hesitantly but Hanbin was quiet as he got out of the car.
You stayed unmoving in your seat but your door soon opened and you had no choice but to follow him.
Taking you through the back door, you trailed Hanbin closely as he led you down the dark and dingy hallways until you finally emerged in a wide open space illuminated by dangling lights from the wooden planked ceiling above.
“This,” Hanbin said as he outstretched both has arms, “is where I’m going to train you to become a warrior.”
“Hah,” you laughed incredulously. He was joking right? “Thanks, but no thanks.”
And in a split second Hanbin charged at you, ready to attack but he didn’t see what was coming next. You blocked his every advance. Every strike he made, you blocked. He finally stopped and surrendered when you had carefully secured him under you, preventing him from moving.
“How?” was all he could manage to say amongst the pure awe he had as he looked up at you from the ground.
“I guess my mum had ways of protecting me on her own. I’m a black belt,” you explained.
“Well, that will surely make things much easier,” Hanbin smirked, making you laugh.
Hanbin gazed at you lovingly and the intensity in his eyes made your breath hitch. You were suddenly aware that every inch of your bodies were touching as you laid on top of him.
Was it just you or was it suddenly extremely hot in here?
“_____,” Hanbin whispered, the breath from his lips brushing against yours causing chills to run down your spine.
“Hanbin,” you murmured back and before you knew it his lips were on yours.
You felt your heart implode as you kissed him back. Never in your life had you felt something as magical as this. You felt ridiculous and cliche for using the word magical to describe your kiss with him but that was honestly how it felt. It was as if everything in the world felt right at that moment. Like he was the missing part of you that you didn’t even know you were searching for. And that was the beauty of it. He made you complete in a way that you couldn’t have ever imagined. But that was also what made if so tragic because at the end of the day, you knew that this is what fate had planned out.
Starcrossed lovers who would never be able to be together. You were destined for a broken heart. It was written in the stars. So as his lips continued to move with yours and his hands intertwined in your soft hair, you allowed yourself to enjoy this moment. To revel in the pure love that you felt radiate off him as he held you tightly. In that moment, no words had to be exchanged. It was like an electrical current was coursing through the both of you and it carried everything that needed to be said. You were in love with him. He was the one that you wanted to be with. And that was what pained you the most.
Till Death Do Us Part | Jimin & Jungkook | Part 4
Read Part | 1 | 2 | 3
————–
“What is it?” Jimin asked you. He saw your mind deep in thought as you tried to find a place for the name that plagued you with questions.
Yoongi. You knew that name. You definitely knew that name from somewhere. Your brain was trying to grasp onto any thread of understanding but it was fruitless. Whatever the meaning behind the name, it was deeply buried in the realms of your memories. You needed more in order to make sense of this.
“I’m sorry again for what happened. I feel terrible-”
“Stop, honestly. Stop apologising. I’m just glad that you’re safe,” Jimin smiled at you but you saw the pain housed behind his eyes.
He was in agony and there was nothing you could do.
“Don’t worry about me, okay? I’m in good hands. Jin will take good care of me,” he reassured you, and although that did help calm you worrying heart a little bit, you were still concerned for what was to come.
“I need to go,” you said gently. You didn’t want Jimin to pick up on the anxiousness that laced through your voice but he already saw it plastered all over your face.
“Sure,” he replied warily. Something was definitely off but he wasn’t going to pry, especially considering his current situation.
“Rest up, I’ll come see you later,” and with that you left to find the man who must know more than he’s been letting off.
It took you awhile but you finally found him.
“Yoongi,” you said as you snuck up on him.
You expected him to flinch or at least show some sign of being startled but he didn’t. You heard him let out a defeated sigh as he turned around to meet you face to face.
“I was wondering how long it would take for you to come looking for me.”
“Who are you?” you whispered. You were beyond confused. He seemed to know you well. Well enough to know that you would come looking for him before you even knew yourself. But you had no idea who he was. His face was completely unfamiliar. Everything about him was unknown to you except for his name.
“How do I know you?” You continued when he didn’t say anything.
The cold wind blew through his hair. His fringe swept across his eyes.
“Don’t you remember me?” he asked surprised.
You shook your head. Clearly he was shocked by this as well.
A look of acceptance hovered over his eyes which were illuminated by the overhead light on the side of the building.
“Let’s just say…I’m a traveler in time,” he said and as soon as those words left his lips it was like an entire section of the puzzle fell into place. You were overwhelmingly hit with a recollection of memories that you had completely forgotten about up until this point.
“Oh my gosh,” you breathed. You couldn’t move. You were barely able to tell you lungs to take their next breath. It was him. But how?
“How? How is this possible? You’re meant to be dead!” you exclaimed.
“Supposedly,” he corrected you. “I’m meant to be supposedly dead.”
You were gasping for air. Was it possible for everything to suddenly make sense but also seem like complete nonsense at the same time?
“No, you’re meant to be dead,” you repeated for your own good as you tried to convince yourself that it was the truth. “The water. You, you drowned. I went to your funeral!”
He smirked at you. “There was no funeral. Well, if there was, it wasn’t for me.”
What the hell was happening. As if your current life wasn’t filled with enough lies, your childhood was too.
As you stared at the man before you. You tried to imagine him as a four-year-old boy. But you couldn’t see it. He had changed so much over the past twenty years. You had completely forgotten about him until now. Granted, you were only three when he “supposedly” died from a drowning. His father was your father’s good friend. They were in the business together. After Yoongi’s death, his dad and mum disappeared. You never thought much of it. All you knew was that one day they were there and the next they were gone. His mother used to read the same book to you and Yoongi when you were over at his house. A Traveler in Time.
“I know you must have a lot of questions,” he spoke. “But I think that’ll have to be a story for another day.” His glance went past you and you turned around, following his gaze.
“Jungkook,” you began before he cut you off.
“What are you doing out here? You were meant to go see Jimin and that’s it.”
“I needed to speak to Yoongi,” you explained.
“You are balancing on a very thin rope at the moment, do you not understand that?” he warned. “One wrong move, and Namjoon could have your head!”
“Don’t be so dramatic, Kookie. Namjoon needs me like he said. I think it’s going to take a lot more than this for him to kill me.”
Jungkook froze. He hadn’t heard you call him Kookie in such a long time.
“You don’t need to worry about me so much. I can take care of myself. Please just…I need to talk to Yoongi alone.”
Feeling defeated Jungkook hesitantly left you alone. He knew that you were more than capable of standing on your own but he worried for you. He knew more than you did about the current situation and as he turned his back and walked away, he made it a mission for himself to tell you everything as soon as he got the chance.
You turned your body back to face Yoongi as soon as Jungkook had left. He had a smirk on his face. “That boy likes you,” he said with entertainment.
You furrowed your eyebrows. “What the hell are you talking about? No, he doesn’t.”
“You may be too blind to see it but he does. He talks about you a lot. I think he also feels guilty. For what, I don’t know but he does.” Yoongi ran his fingers through his hair. “So, are you ready to travel down memory lane with me or not?”
