Decided to draw Warden and the lizards from what we call the "grew up with lizards" au!

In it, Warden is a half shapeshifter half mewman child of the man running the dungeons of the Mewni castle, who, through his questionable luck, accidentally kills his dad and becomes orphaned at ripe old age of four years old.

The difference with regular SJ is that he decides to run away, but, as a four year old, is not very good at it and just hangs around the outskirts of town trying to find something to eat for a few days.

There he is accidentally caught and spontaneously kidnapped by very young Rasticore and Toffee while they are pilfering some foodstuffs from a mewman farm (they are at this point about the analogous age to Wardens in their own Septarian development, and so are also not very good at pilfering) .

Toffee, being raised by two high echelon Septarian warriors, declares Warden his 'mewman prisoner', to which his parents sigh 'yes, Toffee dear, you can keep him, but you have to remember to feed him yourself'.

Toffee and Rasticore both work in Superjail (Rasticore is a guard, Toffee is a 'business partner')

Rasticore and Jailbot constantly fight for Warden's attention, which he encourages

Toffee augmented Warden's coffee machine to the point of sentience

Rasticore has a giant pink doodle puppy named Barb d'Wire (Barbie for short)

Toffee has been summoned to Time Court twice

Toffee murdered Mina in front of the whole living Butterfly family

Warden has been a holder of the Wand for two seconds before Toffee chopped his head off

It takes a lot of damage to kill Warden, and he always respawns

So does everyone in Superjail that Warden wants to keep

The Doctor has a closet full of spare Warden bodies and parts

Jailbot is dating the coffee machine

Rasticore is also kind of Warden's prisoner on probation

Toffee is very catious around Doctor due to Doctor's curiosity about Septarian biology

Both Toffee and Warden suffer from night terrors and sleep fighting; Warden also shapeshifts and alters space around him in his sleep

Rasticore sleeps like a brick, but if you sleep in the same bed you will be cuddled

Warden took it upon himself to introduce Toffees autistic ass to as many new soft, warm and/or sweet things he can manage without getting politely murdered

Toffee is a big fan of heated blankets

He also takes his coffee with three sugars, and is no longer supplied with energy drinks for general safety of Superjail

Alice gets along with both lizards; her, Rasticore and the Gays have movie nights every other week

Warden does not know about the movie nights and is not invited :(

He hates flashing lights 'cause they give him flashbacks to his death but if you ask him, he'll just say they are annoying

Rasticore knows

Smoking is prohibited in Superjail

There is a secret smoking area Toffee created for Alice and Jared where the image from cameras is cycled to always show an empty hallway

He created it as an apology for installing cameras all over Superjail

One of the times Warden did actually get killed was when he shot himself through a portal on accident. He will never admit it was his bullet

Warden loses control over his shapeshifting when in severe overwhelm (good or bad), dissociated or sick. Catching a bad cold means throwing up glitter glue and setting off geiger counters for days

Both Warden and Rasticore have dyslexia. Warden gets by through forcing other people read and write most things for him, and Rasticore faked learning how to read to get Toffee off his back by memorising entire paragraphs as they were being read to him.

Warden identifies as a cis bisexual man

Septarians have a very loose grasp on the concept of gender or sexuality, but respect it

Jared was quietly transphobic until getting decked for it by Rasticore when he "joked" about Alice to him

Jared is now silently transphobic (and afraid of Rasticore)

Warden only found out he was dyslexic at the ripe age of his current age by demanding that Toffee reads to him and Toffee pulling the "can't you read to yourself? aren't you an adult?" on him (and then with much amusement watching Warden struggle to make sense of the page)

Both Rasticore and Warden regularly bother Toffee to have sleepovers, to which he mostly begrudgingly agrees

Toffee believes that magic 8-balls function on some sort of actual magic. You can't convince him otherwise

Toffee has on average about 52 jobs at a time, which is a result of him constantly coming up with absolutely necessary jobs in Superjail and then employing himself for these

Septarians molt from time to time, more and more rarely as they get older. A molt gone wrong is one of the few ways a Septarian can end up being disfigured for a while. Their regeneration is very heavily rooted in self-image

Rasticore's prosthetics were made by Toffee

The gem in Rasticore's eye socket is one out of queen Comet's crown

The Twins find a lot of joy in messing with Toffee's inventions and attempts to make Superjail more efficient. Usually, this ends up in a local apocalypse

Rasticore can't swim for shit, Warden is not good at swimming, Toffee swims extremely well and is that asshole that will sneak up on you and grab you by the ankle underwater

It bothers me so much that the healthcare system relies so much on the patient's ability to advocate for themselves, organize their history, and be so persistent against every medical “professional” who says there’s nothing wrong/they can do. But so many struggle with fatigue, brain fog, and face such ingrained systemic barriers, that the people who need and deserve help and support can’t access it.

I saw something recently that resonated with me: “Access shouldn't depend on who has the energy to fight for it.” And I’ve never agreed with anything more.

really upsets me when people act like crying in front of strangers is always somehow manipulative. i say this as someone who would rather eat glass than let anyone see me cry. i can turn it off instantly when a human being appears within a 50ft radius. but the difference is i know I'M the fucked up one. if i see someone in the grocery store openly sobbing in the baking aisle, i assume something really bad must've happened and they probably do not want to be doing what theyre doing. i could be wrong but like also not my business. shit, maybe their favorite chocolate chips arent in stock, idk.
