The movement is from the sunset TO the storm, indicating a journey INTO the dark

Charles' clip follows Max's so Charles is being led into the storm

Charles is faced away from the sun while Max faces towards the storm, thus Charles is stepping away from the blinding light of the unforgiving sun and to the harsh but cool storm that would wash away everything, very rebirth coded

Charles is coming downhill, showing a fall (perhaps in Ferrari's regression or his own very poetic acceptance of the fallen angel role) while Max rises on the uphill (he is the champion, and even in the darkest, he moves only upwards)
