Last month AMMEX team members in the U.S. gave their Saturday to Seattle Works Day. Over 850 volunteers from numerous organizations in the Seattle area came together to give over 3,000 collective hours to 62 Seattle-based non-profits. AMMEX team members spent the day at the Lifelong Chicken Soup Brigade; an organization that is helping community members overcome food insecurity and other obstacles that stand between them and their best possible health. http://www.lifelong.org/

Gloving is a unique dance style that uses small microlights in the tips of gloves to allow the wearer to create hypnotizing patterns and choreographed dance moves to the sound of electronic dance music. The talented Sonny used AMMEX gloves to create this beautiful light show. (Music: Firefly by Jim Yosef)

Apollo is a French Bulldog from Whidbey Island. After multiple failed attempts to adopt a Frenchie from a rescue organization, his owners found Apollo. He snores, snorts, and farts all day every day, which drives his family crazy, but they love him regardless. As a puppy he became YouTube famous and he’s now approaching 1 million views!

Deep in the rain forest of western Washington, one tropical Chameleon lives a plush existence. The backstory: many years ago, Russy’s ancestors left Nosy Be, Madagascar in search of a better life in Florida. Then, during a dangerous trip to the southern marshes, one brave AMMEX team member encountered Russy. The man begged the Chameleon to come north and be a friend to his daughter. Russy agreed, on one condition: a continuous supply of tasty crickets and juicy blood worms must be promised. Now, this handsome Chameleon loves his tiny human (and the endless supply of crunchy treats!)

Dashing through the snow, with a one-glove-grumpy-frenchster, over hills we go, meowing all the way! Bunny (left) and Hank (right) are two adorable AMMEX pets that love to snuggle and watch TV together. Especially when it’s cold outside! Bunny was rescued at three weeks old after his feral mother abandoned him. This is Sgt. Pepper. Ten years ago she was hiding under a car when an AMMEX employee found her. She was a teeny tiny kitten and someone had just left her. Sgt. Pepper was taken home and she lived in a garage kitten shelter while her rescuer tried to find her a good home. “When I came out into the garage to feed her, she would do little back flips and be absolutely adorable. I started to sing to her ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ by The Beatles and she would freak out with glee. After awhile I realized I wasn’t going to be able to let her go.” Now named Sgt. Pepper, this adorable kitty loves going outside on her leash, eating grass, and playing with laser toys. She also loves the Seahawks!

Today we would like to feature a very special AMMEX pet who is no longer with us. 16-17 years ago, Dopey (pictured) was adopted from a friend’s litter. Although he struggled with limiting his bathroom business to his litter box, Dopey was very loved. He liked to hangout and home and lick is best friend’s ear. Dopey, you are missed.

Stardust (left): quiet, steady unyielding. She is the void that carries her sibling, Jupiter (right). The young planet twirls around the timeless Stardust - joyful and affectionate. Two dreamy space children, filling the void in one AMMEX employee’s heart.

I know it's not quite April Fools yet, but today I convinced my work friend to take another coworker out to lunch so I could pull off this prank. I was hoping she would be at least a little mad that I covered her entire cubicle in gloves... but she thought it was hilarious!
