Happy S4 release day!!🎉🎉

ngl, I thought you gave up on this piece, but I'm glad you stuck with it because this is amazing. The soft lighting casts a nice delicate feeling on the moment. I also like the curtains billowing out as if there is a gentle breeze. This is one of my favorite scenes from the EX novels, so I'm happy someone drew it.
I keep thinking of that time in arc 7 where Subaru demands that they resolve things quickly, so that he has at least 2 hours to dress as Natsumi. Like, he's just been turned into a child, but he's still thinking about crossdressing. Perfection takes time, I suppose!
Also, feel free to guess who Natsumi is talking to here
Reid was afraid of Flugel
So, this is a small theory of mine that I've decided to post because of a fact revealed in Arc 9 that supports it.
In Arc 9, it was revealed that the Dragon Sword Reid can be drawn against Subaru; meaning that he is a worthy opponent. It's most likely that whoever is deemed a worthy opponent is decided based on Reid's beliefs on who a worthy opponent is. Now, recall in Arc 6 when Reid's ego takes over Roy's body, and he gains knowledge of Return by Death through Roy's memories. In chapter 71, there's a scene where Reid takes his eyepatch off to look at Subaru because he wants to reassess his abilities and regard Subaru properly. Reid congratulates Subaru on not going insane, and then pauses and asks if he actually is insane. Then, Reid stops thinking about it. From this short interaction, I gathered that Reid is probably incapable of comprehending the mental strength needed to use RBD like Subaru. Since he can't understand it, that means it's a strength that Reid doesn't have. Based on Reid's personality, he's the type of person who would want to challenge anyone with a strength that he doesn't have.
Since Reid isn't alive in the current day, how is the Dragon Sword able to determine that Subaru has Return by Death? Well, Reid knew Flugel and there is a high chance that Flugel had Return by Death (hinted by the fact that the Great Sage was said to have known everything, and Alec Hoshin said Flugel was the most likely to die out of everyone in the hero's party). After traveling with Flugel, I think at one point, Reid must have figured out Flugel's ability, and either gained respect or fear toward him because of Flugel's absurd mental fortitude. Actually, even if Reid never figured out Flugel's ability, he would probably fear/respect him because of his uncanny ability to predict the future and have knowledge of future events, but if Reid knew about RBD, it would make more sense as to why Flugel could be considered by him to be a worthy opponent. After all, someone who doesn't go insane from RBD is nearly impossible to beat.
Considering that Subaru and Flugel have some sort of connection, I think the Dragon Sword was able to recognize Subaru's relation to Flugel and deem him as a worthy opponent, and that's why the sword can be drawn on Subaru.
Anyway, sorry if this post is a bit incomprehensible, I wrote it late at night, and there's probably some more info that I forgot to add. If anyone needs any clarification or is looking for a specific quote/where I got this information, I can provide that. Feel free to correct me as well because some of this is from memory.
Once this is over, Petra's life will be very depressing. I don't think she'll physically disable herself because then it would be much more difficult to help out in the way that she wants, but she might give up the rest of her life. I'm worried that she will give things up spur of the moment, and then doesn't realize the impact it has on her life until later.
Subaru a few months before getting isekai'd
Since he was a shut-in, he probably had a lot of time to practice his cross-dressing hobby. Although, it must have been difficult for him to continue after his failed high school debut. This piece is supposed to capture the contemplation of pursuing his beloved hobby after getting ridiculed for it. Subaru loves cross-dressing though, so he can't be stopped.

Chapter 2 is out. There's a lot more gore in this chapter; I hope the gore isn't bland or not exciting enough. In this chapter, I think the plot becomes a lot clearer.
The child's burden lay in his lap
The weight of the world is too much to bear alone
Yet, the child still wishes to atone
for the perceived gap
An implicit understanding that keeps him and others apart
So, he willingly carries this burden close to his heart.
I made this art for a Julisuba fic I've just written the first chapter of. They're quite fun to write

Quick sketch of Crusch because honestly who knows when she'll return to the story? Hopefully, she will be seen again when Capella becomes more important. I want to know more about the dragon blood curse, and Ferris won't be happy until Crusch gets better.
Every journey starts with a promise.
"It's my greatest wish for you to die-- so, I'll do everything in my power to push you towards success."
Something I think about a lot is how much julius even remembers about his parents since they died when he was less than 10 years old. I wonder if he would be in a situation where the memories of his parents are just slowly fading away and there’s nothing he can really do about it. Especially when considering how much of his character is tied to losing his parents, I think that him losing his memories of them as well would just be so heartbreaking.

Some extra info about the piece if you’re curious: I have a feeling that they might have never found the bodies of his parents because, since the flood was probably in the slums/poorer area of Lugunica, I imagine that the authorities probably wouldn’t have handled the casualties with much respect, leading to this little spot not being their actual resting place and instead some space that Julius carved out for them. Maybe he commissioned a grave for them later in life or something like that? I also headcanon that he’s not the biggest fan of rain because he associates with the flood.
I got a drawing tablet, so I'll probably be doing more digital art.
Also, this may or may not have taken me 30 hours
This is what happened in the new side story, right?
